Solar-driven evaporators have emerged as a sustainable strategy for water purification and energy harvesting. Designing advanced systems that achieve high evaporation performance, long-term operational stability, and resistance to salt crystallization remains a significant challenge. In this study, an innovative Janus membrane is proposed that addresses these challenges, featuring a super hydrophilic cellulose nanofiber (CNF)@Hexadecyl Trimethyl Ammonium Bromide (CTAB)-MXene layer and a superhydrophobic polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) layer. CTAB modification of MXene enhances its interlayer spacing and specific surface area, enabling rapid water transport and efficient solar energy absorption of the CNF@CTAB-MXene layer. A PTFE layer is sputter-deposited onto CNF@CTAB-MXene layer, effectively preventing salt accumulation and membrane fouling, with plasma pre-treatment ensuring excellent interfacial bonding between these two layers. Under 1 sun illumination, the CNF@CTAB-MXene/PTFE Janus evaporator achieves a remarkable evaporation rate of 1.51 kg m −2 h −1 with outstanding salt resistance. The synergy between superhydrophilic and superhydrophobic layers facilitates efficient water transport while maintaining long-term stability without performance degradation. Additionally, the evaporator generates a voltage of 343.8 mV during thermoelectric power generation, and its unique design allows electricity generation from wind energy at night. This integrated system provides an advanced and durable solution for water-power co-generation, offering practical benefits for off-grid or remote regions.

To significantly improve the tribological performance of epoxy resin (EP), a novel h-BN/MoS2composite was successfully synthesized using spherical MoS2particles with lamellar self-assembly generated through the calcination method, followed by utilizing the “bridging effect” of a silane coupling agent to achieve a uniform and vertically oriented decoration of hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) nanosheets on the MoS2surface. The chemical composition and microstructure of the h-BN/MoS2composite were systematically investigated. Furthermore, the enhancement effect of composites with various contents on the frictional properties of epoxy coatings was studied, and the mechanism was elucidated. The results demonstrate that the uniform decoration of h-BN enhances the chemical stability of MoS2in friction tests, and the MoS2prevents oxidation and maintains its self-lubricating properties. Consequently, due to the protective effect of h-BN and the synergistic interaction between h-BN and MoS2, the 5 wt % h-BN/MoS2composite exhibited the best friction and wear resistance when incorporated into EP. Compared to pure EP coatings, its average friction coefficient and specific wear rate (0.026 and 1.5 × 10−6mm3N−1m−1, respectively) were significantly reduced. Specifically, the average friction coefficient decreased by 88% and the specific wear rate decreased by 99%, highlighting the superior performance of the h-BN/MoS2-enhanced epoxy composite coating.

Acidic oxygen evolution electrodes are essential anodes in acidic water splitting, carbon dioxide, nitrogen electrochemical reduction, etc. The iridium–ruthenium (Ir–Ru)-based catalysts have the potential to withstand the harsh acid corrosion and oxidation environments of the oxygen evolution reaction, but there are still challenges in designing and preparing highly active and stable integrated Ir–Ru electrodes. Herein, we develop a cost-effective and scaled-up passivation engineering strategy to prepare an integrated Ir–Ru anode containing a Ti substrate, a manganese titanate (MnTiO3) passivation layer, and an Ir–Ru oxide catalytic layer. By uniformly loading an appropriate amount of divalent Mn ions (Mn2+) on the surface of zerovalent Ti metal (Ti0) and heating to 350 °C in air, a special passivation reaction occurred between Mn2+ and Ti0, producing a dense MnTiO3 passivation layer. The conductive MnTiO3 passivation layer forms a strongly bonded interface with the Ti substrate, effectively protecting the Ti substrate from electrochemical oxidation to insulating TiO2. Then, on the surface of MnTiO3, a thin layer of complex ions of Ir and Ru is uniformly adsorbed, and after secondary heat treatment, Ir–Ru mixed oxides are generated. Interestingly, the lattice of MnTiO3 perfectly matches that of Ir and Ru oxides, thus achieving the epitaxial growth of Ir–Ru mixed oxides on the surface of MnTiO3 with strong interaction interfaces. These result in the high activity and stability of low-loading Ir–Ru oxides, with an overpotential of only 165 mV at 10 mA cm–2 and over 3000 h of stable operation at 300 mA cm–2 in acidic electrolytes. In situ Raman spectroscopy combined with isotope labeling experiments further confirms that the Ir–O–Ru local structure suppresses the participation of lattice oxygen and enhances the stability of active Ru species.

Amino acid ionic liquids (AAILs) are potential green substitutes of aqueous amine solutions for carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) capture. In this study, we prepared three amino acid ionic liquids, constructed from tetrabutylphosphine hydroxide in combination with glycine, histidine, and arginine. We have conducted a comprehensive study on the CO 2 absorption capacity of structures containing single, double, and triple N–H groups. The solubility of CO 2 in [P 4444 ][Gly], [P 4444 ][His] and [P 4444 ][Arg] were measured experimentally over a temperature range of 30–110 °C and up to a pressure of 0.75 MPa. The results indicate that the solubility of carbon dioxide in amino acid ionic liquids decreases with increasing temperature, while it increases with increasing pressure. The optimal CO 2 absorption conditions of three amino acid ionic liquids were determined to be 50 °C, 0.75 MPa. Moreover, CO 2 absorption capacity of three amino acid ionic liquids followed the order: [P 4444 ][Arg] > [P 4444 ][His] > [P 4444 ][Gly]. Studies on the recycling and regeneration of amino acid ionic liquids verified their reusability in the process and confirmed that the reaction between AAILs and CO 2 could be reversed at 140 °C. Finally, the recycle capacity and CO 2 removal efficiency of [P 4444 ][Gly], [P 4444 ][His] and [P 4444 ][Arg] were evaluated.

Hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) has emerged as a critical thermal management material in electrical insulation systems due to its superior thermal conductivity and dielectric properties. Nevertheless, suboptimal filler-matrix interfacial compatibility hinders both thermal conductivity enhancement and dielectric performance in composites. This study introduces an innovative plasma bubble treatment strategy, utilizing the discharge within bubbles to simultaneously achieve h-BN exfoliation and surface hydroxylation. By producing plasma in a 3% H2O2 solution with Ar/O2 mixed gas, hydroxyl groups are successfully grafted onto h-BN surfaces. This surface modification improves the silane grafting efficiency with KH560, resulting in improved filler dispersion within the epoxy resin (EP) and the introduction of deep charge traps in interfacial regions. Under 9.77 W discharge power, composites containing 20 wt% h-BN treated for 10 min exhibits optimal performance characteristics. The modified composite attains a 327% thermal conductivity of pure EP while showing superior dielectric properties with a 12.4% increase in breakdown strength relative to untreated composite. These findings present an effective surface engineering approach for developing high-performance polymer composites for electrical insulation applications.

Microarc oxidation (MAO) coatings incorporating hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) nanoparticles were synthesized on Mg-Li alloys. The effects of h-BN nanoparticle concentration on the structure, phase composition, and tribological properties of the MAO coatings were systematically investigated. The results indicate that the addition of h-BN nanoparticles induces the formation of protrusions on the coating surface, varied in size and distribution with the concentration of h-BN particles. The protrusions are advantageous for enhancing the wear resistance of the coating, owing to the effective reduction of the contact area and the lubricating impact of the released h-BN particles during wear. The thickness and hardness of the coating contained h-BN particles are significantly elevated. At an optimal h-BN concentration of 7 g/L, the composite coating exhibits the lowest average coefficient of friction (COF = 0.59) and the minimum wear rate (W = 2.6 × 10 −6 mm 3 /N·m), thereby demonstrating superior tribological performance.

The light-promoted, nickel-catalyzed hydrogen-evolution C(sp3)–H acylation of simple alkanes with aromatic aldehydes has been achieved without the need for additional photosensitizers or oxidants. This reliable and atom-economical reaction afforded a broad range of aryl alkyl ketones in good yields, with H2 as the sole byproduct. It was successfully demonstrated on a gram scale as well as for the postfunctionalization of drug molecules. Aromatic aldehydes play multiple roles, including a photosensitizer, a coupling partner, and a hydrogen atom transfer agent.

The selective catalytic reduction of NOxwith CH4(CH4-SCR) holds the potential to simultaneously abate harmful NOxand CH4greenhouse gases. In this study, a series of bimetallic M-In/H-SSZ-39 catalysts (where M represents Cr, Co, Ce, and Fe) were prepared via an ion exchange method and subsequently evaluated for their CH4-SCR activity. The influences of the preparation parameters, including the metal ion concentration and calcination temperature, as well as the operating conditions, such as the CH4/NO ratio, O2concentration, water vapor content, and gas hourly space velocity (GHSV), on the catalytic activity of the optimal Cr-In/H-SSZ-39 catalyst were meticulously examined. The results revealed that the Cr-In/H-SSZ-39 catalyst exhibited peak CH4-SCR catalytic performance when the Cr(NO3)3concentration was 0.0075 M, the In(NO3)3concentration was 0.066 M, and the calcination temperature was 500 °C. Under optimal operating conditions, namely GHSV of 10,000 h−1, 400 ppm NO, 800 ppm CH4, 15 vol% O2, and 6 vol% H2O, the NOxconversion rate reached 93.4%. To shed light on the excellent performance of Cr-In/H-SSZ-39 under humid conditions, a comparative analysis of the crystalline phase, chemical composition, pore structure, surface chemical state, surface acidity, and redox properties of Cr-In/H-SSZ-39 and In/H-SSZ-39 was conducted. The characterization results indicated that the incorporation of Cr into In/H-SSZ-39 enhanced its acidity and also facilitated the generation of InO+active species, which promoted the oxidation of NO and the activation of CH4, respectively. A synergistic effect was observed between Cr and In species, which significantly improved the redox properties of the catalyst. Consequently, the activated CH4could further interact with InO+to produce carbon-containing intermediates such as HCOO−, which ultimately reacted with nitrate-based intermediates to yield N2, CO2, and H2O.

Creating high-quality and highly adaptable self-lubricating surfaces at the interface of mechanical components is significant in extending the lifespan of equipment. Due to the limitations of the performance of a single nanofiller, its enhanced polymer-based coatings often struggle to meet the requirements of harsh working environments. In this study, the 2D/2D nanohybrid of graphitic carbon-nitrogen (g-C 3 N 4 ) supporting h-BN nanosheets (BNNSs) was prepared using the facile calcination method. Furthermore, its tribological enhancement on epoxy (EP) composite coating was evaluated by sliding against 440 C steel ball. The “soft phase” of g-C 3 N 4 and “hard phase” of BNNSs in 2D/2D BNNSs/g-C 3 N 4 nanohybrid could integrate the multiple advantages and provide synergistic enhancement for epoxy self-lubricating composite coating. The BNNSs/g-C 3 N 4 demonstrated the optimal lubricating properties for EP compared to single BNNSs or g-C 3 N 4 . Compared with the pure EP coating, the friction coefficient and wear rate of the 0.5 wt% BNNSs/g-C 3 N 4 /EP coating were reduced by approximately 74.5 % and 80.9 %, respectively. The outstanding tribological properties of BNNSs/g-C 3 N 4 /EP were mainly due to the synergistic enhancement of BNNSs and g-C 3 N 4 nanosheets and the lubricating effect of high-quality transfer film.

Background: To investigate the effects of the Lenvatinib@H-MnO2-FA administration system on the proliferation and apoptosis of Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) and the underlying molecular mechanism. Materials and Methods: In this research, hollow MnO2
(H-MnO2) was synthesized via the modified Stöber method, and H-MnO2 was modified with polyethylene glycol-bis (Amine) (NH2-PEG-NH2) and folic acid (FA) to obtain H-MnO2-PEG-FA (H-MnO2-FA).
Lenvatinib was coated in the hollow cavity of H-MnO2-PEG-FA to further form a nanometre drug-carrying system (Lenvatinib@H-MnO2-PEG-FA). Lenvatinib@H-MnO2-FA was characterized through transmission electron microscopy (TEM)
and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) was used to verify that Lenvatinib was loaded on nanoparticles. Functionally, confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM), 2-(4-Amidinophenyl)-6-indolecarbamidine dihydrochloride (DAPI) staining, and 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium
bromide (MTT) assay were performed to determine the effect of Lenvatinib@H-MnO2-FA on the proliferation and apoptosis of ICC cells (9810 cells). Finally, the protein levels of Raf-1MEK1/2-ERK1/2 signalling pathway components were detected through Western blotting analysis.
Results: We successfully synthesised a Lenvatinib@H-MnO2-PEG-FA administration system. The resulting nanomaterials had excellent biological stability and improved targeting effects. Functionally, Lenvatinib@ H-MnO2-FA inhibited the proliferation
of 9810 cells. The Bcl-2 protein level was significantly downregulated, and the caspase-3 protein level was significantly upregulated, indicating that Lenvatinib@H-MnO2- PEG- FA promoted the apoptosis of 9810 cells. Mechanistically, Lenvatinib@H-MnO2-FA
increased the phosphorylation levels of Raf, MEK1/2, and ERK1/2. Conclusion: H-MnO2-FA can more effectively deliver Lenvatinib to inhibit proliferation and promote apoptosis in ICC, which could be the promising drug delivery nano-vehicles for delivery drugs.

The rapid evolution of flexible wearable electronics necessitates efficient thermal management, driving the demand for materials that are not only thermally conductive but also electrically insulating and flexible. In this study, a thermal conductive composite with aligned filler structure was fabricated using catechol/tetraethylenepentamine (CAT-TEPA) surface-modified hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) and mesophase pitch-based carbon fibers (MPCF) as fillers, and cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB) as the polymer matrix via evaporation self-assembly and hot-pressing. By optimizing the interface through CAT-TEPA modification and leveraging the long-range structural alignment of MPCF, an efficient thermal conduction network of h-BN sheets was formed. The composite containing 50 wt % total filler content (3 wt % MPCF) achieved an exceptional in-plane thermal conductivity of 21.75 W/mK, and a high volume resistivity of 1.5 × 1011 Ω·cm. Furthermore, the material demonstrated remarkable flexibility, making it a promising candidate for thermal management applications in flexible electronics.

Hydroxyapatite (HA) has attracted wide attention for medical application due to its biocompatibility and bioactivity. However, the infection problems of HA remain among the leading reasons for implantation failure. Thus, it is urgent to endow HA biomaterials with antibacterial activity. Herein, the high antibacterial activity was achieved by introducing trace Mn3+ and H vacancy couples in HA through a facile heat-treatment strategy in air. The theoretical results indicated that Mn3+ was preferentially substituted for the Ca(2) site in the HA structure with a charge-compensating H vacancy appearing at the adjacent OH− site. The antibacterial tests showed that Mn-HA possessed antibacterial activity towards both E. coli and S. aureus with trace Mn content at the ppm level, and implied that Mn3+ and centers may play an important role in the antibacterial process. The Mn3+ and couples in Mn-HA, serving as oxidative and reductive centers respectively, could then collectively participate in the CoQ/CoQH2 redox cycling and synergistically facilitate the accumulation of CoQ˙− and ROS radicals. This enhanced ROS production was the main factor to endow Mn-HA with efficient antibacterial activity. Moreover, the in vitro bioactivity assay showed that Mn-HA materials exhibited enhanced osteogenic activity and good biocompatibility. Therefore, this work not only provides a feasible method to control the oxidation state of Mn elements in HA, but also proposes a novel trace Mn3+-doped HA for potential applications in tissue engineering.
