Deterministic lateral displacement (DLD) is a passive particle separation method based on microfluidic technology, with its separation mechanism primarily relying on particle size differences. Therefore, the critical separation size is of great significance in the design of DLD devices. The geometric asymmetry of the pillar array design significantly influences fluid behavior and critical particle size variations. This study first analyzed particle motion characteristics through particle trajectory observation experiments within asymmetric microfluidic chips. Subsequently, a two-dimensional numerical simulation method was employed to investigate the effects of three different ratios of lateral gap size to downstream gap size (Gx:Gy) on particle trajectories and flow field distribution. The results indicate that as Gx:Gydecreases, the upward flow rate gradually reduces, accompanied by changes in the flow field velocity distribution, causing particles to favor displacement mode. This study provides new theoretical foundations for the precise regulation of particle motion behavior and introduces novel insights for optimizing DLD device design.

Commercially available rare-earth-doped inorganic oxide materials have been widely applied as X-ray scintillators, but the fragile characteristics, high detection limit, and harsh preparation condition seriously restrict their wide applications. Furthermore, it remains a huge challenge to realize X-ray flexible imaging technology for real-time monitoring of the curving interface of complex devices. To address these issues, we herein report two isostructural cuprous halides of zero-dimensional (0D) [AEPipz]CuX3·X·H2O (AEPipz = N-aminoethylpiperazine, X = Br and I) with controllable size to nanosize crystal as highly efficient scintillators toward flexible X-ray imaging. These cuprous halides exhibit highly efficient cyan photoluminescence and radioluminescence emissions with the highest quantum yield of 92.1% and light yield of 62,400 photons MeV–1, respectively, surpassing most of the commercially available inorganic scintillators. Meanwhile, the ultralow detection limit of 95.7 nGyair s–1 was far below the X-ray dose required for diagnosis (5.5 μGyair s–1). More significantly, the flexible film is facilely assembled with excellent foldability and high crack resistance, which further acts as a scintillation screen achieving a high spatial resolution of 17.4 lp mm–1 in X-ray imaging, demonstrating the potential application in wearable radiation radiography. The combined advantages of high light yield, low detection limit, and excellent flexibility promote these 0D cuprous halides as the most promising X-ray scintillators.

Low-dimensional hybrid Cu(I)-based halide materials are a new class of materials with low toxicity and excellent photoluminescent properties. In this work, five novel single crystals of [1,4-BDA]Cu 2 X 4 (X = Cl, Br, I) (1,4-BDA: 1,4-butanediamine) and [1,3-PDA] 2 Cu 3 X 7 (X = Cl, Br) (1,3-propanediamine) were obtained using a solvent evaporation method. The [1,4-BDA]Cu 2 X 4 (X = Cl, Br, I) crystals all have 1D structures, while the [1,3-PDA] 2 Cu 3 X 7 (X = Cl, Br) crystals have 0D structures. All five single crystals exhibit broadband blue emissions under 254 nm UV excitation at room temperature. Interestingly, both crystals show a gradual blueshift of the emission peaks with increasing halogen atomic mass, realizing tunable emission from the dark blue to sky blue range. The energy transfer process of the [1,4-BDA]Cu 2 Br 4 single crystal was studied using temperature-dependent photoluminescence spectroscopy. Combined with density-functional theory calculations, the reason for the shift of the PL emission peaks is explained. Notably, by altering the chemical composition, different photoluminescent halide materials can be obtained. Providing insight into the discovery of new low-toxicity, low-cost Cu(I)-based halide materials.

Adenosine-to-inosine (A-to-I) RNA editing is a critical post-transcriptional modification that diversifies the transcriptome and influences various cellular processes, yet its regulatory mechanisms remain largely unknown. Here, we present two complementary CRISPR-based genetic screening platforms: CREDITS (CRISPR-based RNA editing regulator screening), which enables genome-scale identification of editing regulators using an RNA recorder-based reporter system, and scCREDIT-seq (single-cell CRISPR-based RNA editing sequencing), which provides multiplexed single-cell characterization of transcriptome and editome changes for pooled perturbations. By screening 1,350 RNA-binding proteins, we identified a series of A-to-I editing regulators. Mechanistic investigation revealed DDX39B as a global repressor of A-to-I editing, which functions by preventing double-stranded RNA accumulation through its helicase activity. Targeting DDX39B significantly enhances the efficiency of RNA-editing-based tools, such as CellREADR (cell access through RNA sensing by endogenous ADAR) and LEAPER (leveraging endogenous ADAR for programmable editing of RNA), and disrupts hepatitis D virus (HDV) RNA editing homeostasis. These technological advances not only expand our understanding of RNA editing regulation but also provide powerful tools for exploring tissue-specific and context-dependent RNA modification mechanisms, with broad implications for therapeutic development.

To date, Cu(I)-based metal halides with high photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs) have primarily focused on their zero-dimensional or one-dimensional structures, significantly reflecting the charge or carrier localization. Designing two-dimensional (2D) hybrid copper(I) halides remains a significant challenge for optoelectronic applications, particularly in simultaneously achieving high PLQY and exceptional structural stability. Here, we report a novel series of 2D hybrid Cu(I) halides, (TDMP)Cu2X4 (TDMP = 2,5-dimethylpiperazine and X = Cl, Br), synthesized through simple solution-cooling crystallization methods. (TDMP)Cu2Cl4 and (TDMP)Cu2Br4 emit cyan and blue light with PLQYs of 94.3 and 71.7%, respectively. According to the literature, the 94.3% represent the highest PLQYs reported for 2D Cu(I)-based hybrid materials. Interestingly, (TDMP)Cu2Cl4 demonstrates excellent water stability, retaining its efficient emission properties even after prolonged exposure to water. Furthermore, the scintillation screen based on (TDMP)Cu2Cl4 exhibits promising X-ray scintillation performance, with a low detection limit of 127 nGairy s–1 and a high resolution of 16.5 lp mm–1, significantly outperforming commercially available materials. This study provides a strategy for designing high-performance 2D Cu(I)-based metal halides and X-ray imaging materials.

Synergistic type I photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photothermal therapy (PTT) offer a prospective approach to address the challenges posed by tumor hypoxia and heterogeneity, thereby achieving enhanced antitumor therapeutic outcomes. However, developing simple synthetic phototheranostic agents with efficient type I reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and effective photothermal conversion is still a significant task. In this study, fluorenone (FO), known for its potent electron-withdrawing properties, was conjugated with the rotor-type electron-donating triphenylamine (TPA) to construct a donor–acceptor–donor (D–A D) structural aggregation-induced emission (AIE) photosensitizer ( TPAF ), followed by the formation of nanoparticles (NPs) TPAF CNPs via self-assembly with DSPE-mPEG 2000 -cRGD and DSPE-mPEG 2000 . The TPAF CNPs effectively integrated efficient type I ROS with exceptional photothermal conversion capability. The fundamental photophysical and photochemical mechanisms underlying the synergistic effects of type I photodynamic and photothermal processes were explored through experimental and theoretical methods. In vitro and in vivo experiments showed that TPAF CNPs exhibited excellent photostability, good biocompatibility, enhanced tumor targeting, and outstanding synergistic type I PDT/PTT effects, achieving substantial antitumor therapeutic efficacy with a single injection and one laser irradiation. Overall, this study contributes to the growing field of high-performance type I PDT/PTT nanomedicine for synergistic phototheranostic applications.

Single-component white-light-emitters ensure color stability while reducing device complexity, which are ideal candidates for white light-emitting diodes (WLEDs). However, the realization of single-component white-light emission with high efficiency and stability is still a challenge. Herein, a supramolecular cation strategy was used to synthesize the organicinorganic hybrid copper(I) halide [(AMTA)(18C6)]₂Cu₂I₄ (1), with AMTA = 1-adamantanamine and 18C6 = 18-crown-6. The structure of 1 comprises a [Cu₂I₄]²⁻ anion, formed from two edge-sharing CuI₃ triangles, and two [(AMTA)(18C6)]⁺ supramolecular cations. Compound 1 exhibits efficient white-light emission featuring dual bands centered at 480 nm and 642 nm. The CIE coordinate (0.32, 0.33) approaches the pure white point (0.33, 0.33), while the quantum yield reaches 62.09%. Such efficient white-light emission arises from two self-trapped exciton (STE) states within the inorganic unit.Furthermore, compound 1 shows remarkable stability, remaining stable for over 90 days in air and for 15 days under 75% humidity conditions. The single-component WLED fabricated using this material achieved a color rendering index (CRI) of 84, meeting the requirement for everyday lighting applications. This study demonstrates a novel approach to engineering single-component white-light phosphors suitable for solid-state lighting applications.

Low-dimensional tin-based halide perovskites are considered as eco-friendly substitutions of the iconic lead-based perovskites to host the potential as optoelectronic materials. However, a fundamental understanding of the structure–property relationship of these Sn(II)-based hybrids is still inadequate due to the limited members of this material family. To our knowledge, there is still lack of reports on a series of Sn(II)-based halide perovskites with the same organic cation but covering chloride, bromide, and iodide. In this work, three new halide perovskites TMPDASnX4 (X = Cl, Br, I) (TMPDA = N,N,N′,N′-tetramethyl-1,4-phenylenediamine) are successfully synthesized, which provide the ideal paradigm to study the halogen-dependent evolution of the structure and properties of Sn(II)-based hybrid perovskites. Despite sharing the same monoclinic lattice (P21/m space group), it is demonstrated that TMPDASnCl4 adopts a one-dimensional structure composed of a five-coordinated pyramid configuration due to an extremely long Sn···Cl distance, while the typical two-dimensional motif is still maintained in TMPDASnBr4 and TMPDASnI4. The ambient stability is declined in the order from chloride to bromide and then to iodide. TMPDASnCl4 exhibits a broad-band bluish-white-light emission (centered at 515 nm, full width at half-maximum (fwhm) = 193 nm) with the Commission Internationale de l′ Elairage (CIE) coordinates as (0.29, 0.34). Further, the correlated color temperature and color-rendering index were determined as 7617 K and 80.5, respectively. Based on the synthesis of new crystals, our work sheds light on the composition–structure–property relationship of hybrid Sn(II)-based halide perovskites.

Metal halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have garnered much attention in recent years. Despite the remarkable advancements in PSCs utilizing traditional metal electrodes, challenges such as stability concerns and elevated costs have necessitated the exploration of innovative electrode designs to facilitate industrial commercialization. Herein, a physically and chemically stable molybdenum (Mo) electrode is developed to fundamentally tackle the instability factors introduced by electrodes. The combined spatially resolved element analyses and theoretical study demonstrate the high diffusion barrier of Mo ions within the device. Structural and morphology characterization also reveals the negligible plastic deformation and halide-metal reaction during aging when Mo is in contact with perovskite (PVSK). The electrode/underlayer junction is further stabilized by a thin seed layer of titanium (Ti) to improve Mo film's uniformity and adhesion. Based on a corresponding p–i–n PSCs (ITO/PTAA/PVSK/C 60 /SnO 2 /ITO/Ti/Mo), the champion sample could deliver an efficiency of 22.25%, which is among the highest value for PSCs based on Mo electrodes. Meanwhile, the device shows negligible performance decay after 2000 h operation, and retains 91% of the initial value after 1300 h at 50–60 °C. In summary, the multilayer Mo electrode opens an effective avenue to all-round stable electrode design in high-performance PSCs.

Intercalated binding of anthracycline anticancer drugs to DNA is associated with anticancer mechanisms. The i-motif, a cytosine-rich DNA secondary structure found in the promoter region of oncogenes, is a primary target for anticancer drugs action. Therefore, it is significant to study the interaction between anthracycline drugs and i-motif for cancer therapy using simple, rapid and low-cost analytical methods. Here, we utilized α-HL protein nanopore, which offers high sensitivity and high signal-to-noise ratio to investigate the conformational transition of human telomere i-motif induced by various anthracycline drugs at the single-molecule level. Our results revealed for the first time that anthracyclines drugs could induced the unfolding of i-motif into hairpin DNA. Additionally, our experiment captured the current signal of the intermediate state during the unfolding of i-motif into hairpin DNA, a signal difficult to obtain by conventional analytical tools such as circular dichroism (CD) and UV–visible spectroscopy (UV–vis). This research provides a novel tool for investigating the interaction between small molecule and DNA and lays the foundation for future screening of drugs acting on i-motif targets, as well as analyzing their therapeutic mechanism.

Excessive ultraviolet radiation is one of the most common external factors causing skin photoaging, which leads to collagen degradation, wrinkle formation, pigmentation, and is even associated with skin disorders such as seborrheic keratosis and skin tumors. Although various strategies have been developed to treat photoaging skin; however, they suffer from poor stability, risk of allergic reactions, and prolonged recovery periods. In this study, we develop a novel highly stable and bioactive yak type I collagen-based hydrogels dressing to promote the rejuvenation of photoaged skin. The YIC gel demonstrated excellent stability over a six-month period, and maintained the intact triple-helical structure of collagen. It also displayed shear-thinning behavior and notable ductility. In vitro cell experiments confirmed its favorable biocompatibility and bioactivity.Non-invasive Combo evaluations demonstrated the remarkable ability of YIC gel to restore dermal density, elasticity, hydration, and transepidermal water loss to healthy levels, surpassing the efficacy of the commercial product. Histological analysis revealed YIC gel significantly reduced epidermal thickness, promoted the deposition and regeneration of collagen, demonstrating greater efficacy than the commercial product. Antioxidant indicators further highlighted the antioxidant properties of YIC gel, including reduced MDA content, increased SOD activity and GSH content. Immunofluorescence staining suggested that the YIC gel may enhance collagen synthesis through modulation of the TGF-β/Smad signaling pathway. This YIC gel offers valuable insights into its protective effects against skin photoaging and highlights its promising applications in cosmetic formulations.
