en This link goes to a English section pt This link goes to a English section Antioxidant of bamboo leaves (AOB) is a novel natural food antioxidant approved in China since 2004. Natural phenolics contained in the current AOB are usually polyhydroxy derivatives exhibiting hydrophilic character, which has been marked as water-soluble AOB (AOB-w). In order to broaden the application fields, oil-soluble AOB (cAOB-o) was obtained by chemical acylation of AOB-w with different chain-length fatty acids varying from C8 to C18. Results indicated that the yield and solubility of cAOB-o in 1-octanol solvent depended on the carbon chain length of acyl donor, and cAOB-o derived from C12 fatty acid exhibited the more powerful antioxidant activity evaluated by β-carotene/linoleic acid bleaching assay. Total phenolic content decreased by Folin–Ciocalteu assay. Fourier transform infrared spectra showed the increase of a carbonyl (C = O) peak at 1701 cm −1 and a decrease in the intensity of the absorption at 3400 cm −1 (O-H stretching) in cAOB-o. Acylation was inferred to mainly occur on the hydroxyl groups of flavones C -glycosides according to the change of high-performance liquid chromatography spectra and the contents of total flavonoids and phenolic acids. cAOB-o with the addition of 0.02% significantly increased oxidative stability of palm oil 1.59 times, lard 3.74 times, and fried potato chips 2.08 times, which was better than the effect of oil-soluble tea polyphenol ( P < 0.01). Moreover, cAOB-o was identified to be actually nontoxicity by an acute oral toxicity test. All the above results indicated that cAOB-o could be used as a novel and effective oil-soluble antioxidant in the food industry. Practical Application en This link goes to a English section pt This link goes to a English section Oil-soluble antioxidant of bamboo leaves (cAOB-o) was obtained by chemical acylation with water-soluble AOB (AOB-w) and different chain-length fatty acids. A supramolecular recognition system was constructed based on the host–guest interaction with water-soluble β-cyclodextrinpolymer-P(AM/A-β-CD/NaA) as the host polymer and hydrophobically modified polyacrylamide-P(AM/C 18 /NaA) as the guest one. The guest polymer contains a small amount of hydrophobic octadecyl groups. High viscosity enhancement was observed when P(AM/A-β-CD/NaA) was added to P(AM/C 18 /NaA) solution, the concentration of P(AM/C 18 /NaA) was under the critical aggregation concentrations (CAC), as a result of the polymer inclusion association. The influences of salt concentration, shearing, pH values and temperature on the viscosity of mixture solution were also studied. O/W crude oil emulsion stabilized by the complex was prepared. A laser particle size analyzer and Turbiscan Lab Expert stability analyzer were employed to study their stability. The results indicated that mixture emulsion became more stable than the single amphiphilic polymer's. This is because that the net structure of elastic polymer in the continuous phase has the ability to hold oil droplets at the low concentration of P(AM/C 18 /NaA). The stability mechanism of O/W emulsion was indicated by three-stage visual rheological method. In this paper, the stability of inclusion complex is discussed, and the mechanism of the enhanced oil emulsification is further explored.

In this study, novel molecularly imprinted open porous membranes (MIOPMs) were prepared using the Pickering HIPEs template method and molecular imprinting technology for selective adsorption and separation of methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (M4HB). The template M4HB, functional monomers, crosslinker and plastifier 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (2-EHA) were contained in the oil phase. Hydrophobic silica nanoparticles (HNP-SiO 2 ) were employed as a stabilizer to establish stable W/O Pickering HIPEs with nonionic surfactant sorbitantrioleate (Span 85). The results of SEM and FTIR indicated that the optimal MIOPMs were prepared successfully and possessed open and interconnecting pores. Then, the MIOPMs were used as sorbents for M4HB. The correlation coefficient ( R 2 ) values for the Langmuir–Freundlich isotherm model and pseudo-second-order kinetic model fitting to the adsorption equilibrium and kinetic data respectively were all higher than 0.95. The maximum adsorption capacity and the time of rapid adsorption for MIOPM 4 were 4.146 mg g −1 and 100 min, respectively. In addition, the permeability separation factor of MIOPMs for M4HB compared to a structurally related analog methyl 2-hydroxybenzoate (M2HB) could reach 3.122.

Nowadays, major commercial w-LEDs fabricated by the traditionally gold-wire-welding packaging technology have undergone considerable development as indoor/outdoor lighting sources due to its high-energy utilization efficiency, long service life, environmental friendliness, and excellent chromatic stability. While, new generation applications in projections, automotive lighting, street lighting, plaza lighting, and high-end general lighting need further improvements in power handling and light extraction. Herein, transparent Ce:YAG glass-ceramics (GCs) phosphor was prepared by low-temperature co-sintering polycrystalline Ce:YAG phosphor powder and home-made PbO-B 2 O 3 -ZnO-SiO 2 glass powder. Thereafter, the flip-chip (FC) w-LEDs were fabricated with the GCs phosphor plates and FC blue chips. The GCs-based FC w-LEDs show not only excellent heat- and humidity-resistance characteristics, but also superior optical performances with an LE of 112.8 lm/W, a CRI of 71.2, a CCT of 6103 K as well as a chromaticity coordinate of (0.3202, 0.3298), under a high operation current of 400 mA. The technology route will open a practically commercial feasible approach to achieve excellent performances for advanced high-power FC w-LEDs.

In this study, we propose a model to evaluate the ductile-to-brittle transition (DBT) of W based alloy using small tensile test and dislocation density measurement. The new model is built upon the high correlation between the DBT and the dislocation multiplication. Compared the measured results from the typical testing methods such as small tensile test, three-point bending test, it reveals that the new model is close to the bending test results. Interestingly, the equivalent transition temperature (ETT) of W-Y 2 O 3 alloy measured by three-point bending test and the new model is lower than that of pure W. The effect of grain boundary and Y 2 O 3 particles on DBT were discussed, and the lower transition temperature of W-Y 2 O 3 alloy is attributed to the easier dislocation multiplication near grain boundary as well as the increase of small angle grain boundary.

This study focuses on developing a rapid, easy-to-use, and sensitive sensor for the electroanalytical detection of Metaxalone (MXL) for the first time. A novel sensor was created by combining sulfur-incorporated graphitic carbon nitride (S-GCN) with tungsten-doped titanium oxide nanoparticles (W: TiO 2 NPs) in a carbon paste, which was then loaded into a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) tube. The synthesized modifiers were characterized using SEM, XRD, and FTIR techniques to understand their structural, morphological, and functional features, contributing to the electrocatalytic activity of the modified sensor (W: TiO 2 /S-GCN@CPE). Comparative analysis showed that W: TiO 2 /S-GCN@CPE achieved higher detection currents than the unmodified carbon paste electrode (CPE). Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and square wave voltammetry (SWV) were used to detect and quantify MXL electrochemically. The electrode’s physicochemical properties were studied under optimal conditions within a potential range of 0.3 V to 1.5 V. The W: TiO 2 /S-GCN@CPE showed a detection limit of 0.85 x 10 -8 M and demonstrated linearity over a concentration range of 0.1–100 x 10 -7 M. The sensor’s selectivity against interference from metal ions was also assessed. In practical applications, the developed electrode effectively detected MXL in spiked water, tablets, and biological samples, showing significant detection capacity and good recovery rates. Additionally, the electrode demonstrated stability across multiple measurements, positioning W: TiO 2 /S-GCN@CPE as a promising sensor for MXL detection.

The S/O/W method of solvent evaporation was utilized in this work for manufacturing poly ( ε −caprolactone) (PCL) microspheres loaded with 1−methylcyclopropene (1−MCP−α−CD) and eugenol (EUG) for temperature- and humidity-regulated EUG release. The composite microspheres with higher encapsulation efficiency (71.39 % ± 2.71 %) were attained by optimizing the rotation speed and mass ratio of PCL to composite powder . The microspheres had good spherical shape without large pores. The rate of release could be managed by different temperature and relative humidity conditions with the release of microspheres (96.82 % ± 0.81 % in 12 days) at the temperature of 60 °C (90 % relative humidity) and (86.50 % ± 2.71 % in 12 days) at the 90 % relative humidity (60 °C). Microsphere encapsulation of EUG and 1−MCP−α−CD was demonstrated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffractometer. Thermal gravity analysis demonstrated that the degradation of EUG@β−CD and 1−MCP−α−CD was delayed after encapsulation. The deterioration of loquat (Baiyu, white-fleshed) can be postponed after treatment of EUG/1-MCP composite microspheres. Relative conductivity, total soluble solids, hardness, color, titratable acid , and weight loss of the loquat were also improved. It could significantly inhibit polyphenol oxidase (PPO) and peroxidase (POD) activities and inhibited browning of loquat tissue. EUG/1−MCP composite microspheres we formulated in this work might be employed to increase the shelf life of loquat.

Metal halide perovskite nanocrystals have excellent prospects in solid-state lighting, flexible display, sensing, and other optoelectronic applications due to their superb photoelectric properties (high quantum efficiency and fast carrier diffusion speed). However, they are susceptible to environmental factors such as ultraviolet radiation and polar solvents. Especially in a water environment, poor stability seriously restricts the application of perovskite optical devices . In this paper, a kind of porous polymer (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer , EVA) and perovskite nanocrystals were mixed to form perovskite nanocrystals-EVA composites. The obtained composites were aged in water for 21 days, and the fluorescence enhancement was 170 times. Even in a strongly acidic environment, the fluorescence enhancement was 91 times. The information encryption mode of the composite material can effectively encrypt information in a wet environment due to the change of light wavelength, making a white light-emitting diode (w-LED). This metal halide perovskite nanocrystals-EVA composite will unleash a wide variety of solid-state lighting and flexible display possibilities that are limited by the use of existing methods in humid and strongly acidic environments.

The electrocatalytic oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA) constitutes a pivotal pathway for biomass valorization. However, its advancement is kinetically hindered by the competitive adsorption between HMF and OH − on active sites, causing a conflict between substrate activation and oxidant supply. To circumvent this impediment, a series of Ni(OH) 2 /N,W-Ni 3 S 2 composite catalysts are designed via electrodeposition. This strategy enables the in-situ growth of amorphous Ni(OH) 2 overlayer on the nitrogen and tungsten co-modulated Ni 3 S 2 (N,W-Ni 3 S 2 ) substrate, realizing the precise construction of heterostructure. The Ni(OH) 2 component possesses strong affinity for OH − , while the Ni 3 S 2 substrate preferentially adsorbs HMF. By tuning the electrodeposition duration, the Ni(OH)₂ layer thickness can be regulated, thereby enabling the overall adsorption strengths of both HMF and OH − to be finely optimized. The superior catalyst, Ni(OH) 2 /N,W-Ni 3 S 2 –500, demonstrates exceptional catalytic activity, achieving 100 % HMF conversion, 97.2 % FDCA yield and 97.3 % Faradaic efficiency. Furthermore, it displays a wide operational potential window, maintaining FDCA yields and Faradaic efficiencies above 90 % over 1.45–1.60 V vs. RHE. This remarkable activity is attributed to an optimized adsorption behavior for HMF and OH − . Specifically, the enhanced affinity for OH − accelerates the generation of the true active species, high-valent nickel oxyhydroxide (NiOOH), and ensures a sufficient localized supply of the oxygen source. Simultaneously, the catalyst retains a moderate adsorption capacity for HMF molecules, ensuring effective substrate activation without inhibiting product desorption. This study proposes a novel and effective interfacial engineering paradigm to resolve the adsorption imbalance in biomass electrooxidation, offering a rational blueprint for superior electrocatalysts.

In the present work, a series of zincate CaY 2 Sb 2 (ZnO 4 ) 3 :Eu 3+ phosphors were successfully obtained via the conventional solid-state method at high temperature. The phase purity, morphology, element mapping, photoluminescence excitation/emission (PLE/PL), and decay time of the obtained phosphors were investigated systematically. Results show that the synthesized samples demonstrate the strongest red-emitting peak at 610 nm under the n-ultraviolet (n-UV) 395 nm excitation. The Judd-Ofelt parameters (Ω 2 , Ω 4 ), radiative transition rates, and branching ratios ( β 0 J, J = 2, 4) of CaY 2 Sb 2 (ZnO 4 ) 3 :Eu 3+ to explore the Eu 3+ -coordinated environment in the host matrix. The concentration quenching of CaY 2 Sb 2 (ZnO 4 ) 3 :2 x Eu 3+ phosphors happened until at high doping concentration of x = 50 mol%. CaY 2 Sb 2 (ZnO 4 ) 3 :100 mol%Eu 3+ sample presented the excellent thermal stability with abnormal thermal quenching behavior. Compared with the commercial Y 2 O 3 :Eu 3+ red phosphor , the luminescent intensity of the prepared phosphor is 1.14 times stronger. The high internal quantum efficiency (IQE) of CaY 2 Sb 2 (ZnO 4 ) 3 :100 mol%Eu 3+ phosphor is 79.20%. In addition, the fabricated red and white light-emitting diodes (w-LEDs) both emit bright light. The w-LED demonstrates a high color rendering index ( R a = 96) and a low correlated color temperature (CCT = 5249 K). Therefore, the prepared red-emitting phosphor has a promising application in w-LEDs.

The efficiency of electron utilization and C–C coupling is crucial to the selectivity of photocatalytic CO2 reduction to multicarbon (C2+) hydrocarbon products. Herein, the multifunctional catalyst of TiO2-modified W18O49 nanospheres (TimWOx) was successfully fabricated by in situ growth hydrothermal method. The distinct interfacial energy between W18O49 and TiO2 can promote the charge redistribution at the asymmetric Ti–O–W active sites and facilitate the formation of an internal electric field (IEF). Photogenerated electrons driven by the IEF can improve the dynamic electron shuttling between Ti and W centers for enhancing electron utilization efficiency during CO2 photoreduction. TimWOx catalysts exhibit high activity for photocatalytic CO2 reduction to C2+ products, i.e., the yield and selectivity of C2H4 over Ti0.25WOx are 46.3 μmol·g–1 and 72.01%, respectively, which is 7.25 times that of pristine W18O49. Combined with the results of in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectra and DFT calculations, the photocatalytic mechanism is proposed: the protonation the *OCCOH intermediate is key step for selective photocatalytic CO2 reduction into C2H4, and the energy barrier for the protonation of the *OCCOH intermediate is lowered by IEF-induced dynamic electron shuttling, which selectively steers the reaction pathway toward C2H4 formation. This work highlights the role of interfacial electric fields in guiding electron shuttling for selective photocatalytic C–C coupling, which benefits developing highly efficient photocatalysts.

In this work, oil-in-water (O/W) benzyl isothiocyanate (BITC) nanoemulsions (10% MCT) were prepared with four natural emulsifiers: chitosan, gum arabic, soybean protein isolate (SPI), and SPI-phosphatidylcholine (SPI-PC). We evaluated the effects of emulsifier type and concentration (0.25–4 wt%) on the nanoemulsions’ encapsulation efficiency, rheological behavior, stability, and antioxidant capacity. Results showed that at the same concentration, protein-based (SPI/SPI-PC) nanoemulsions had smaller particle size, higher absolute ζ-potential, and better encapsulation efficiency than polysaccharide-based (chitosan/gum arabic) counterparts. All four emulsifiers delivered the smallest particle size and highest encapsulation efficiency at 1 wt%, with SPI-PC nanoemulsion reaching 234.17 ± 1.27 nm and 93.21 ± 2.27%, respectively. Confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) confirmed SPI-PC nanoemulsion had smaller, uniform droplets, with the lowest Turbiscan Stability Index (TSI, 0.20 ± 0.01, excellent stability). It also showed the lowest viscosity and shear stress, and highest 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH, 71.60 ± 1.81%) and 2,2’-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS + , 79.43 ± 2.40%) radical scavenging activity. These results confirm the SPI-PC complex forms a more efficient, stable emulsification system, providing support for developing natural food-grade emulsifiers and lipophilic bioactive delivery carriers.
