Combination therapy is a promising treatment for certain advanced drug-resistant cancers. Although effective inhibition of various tumor cells was reported in vitro , combination treatment requires improvement in vivo due to uncontrolled ratiometric delivery. In this study, a tumor-targeting lipodisk nanoparticle formulation was developed for ratiometric loading and the transportation of two hydrophobic model drugs, doxorubicin (DOX) and paclitaxel (PTX), in one single platform. Furthermore, a slightly acidic pH-sensitive peptide (SAPSP) incorporated into lipodisks effectively enhanced the tumor-targeting and cell internalization. The obtained co-loaded lipodisks were approximately 30 nm with a pH-sensitive property. The ratiometric co-delivery of two drugs via lipodisks was confirmed in both the drug-resistant MCF-7/ADR cell line and its parental MCF-7 cell line in vitro , as well as in a tumor-bearing mouse model in vivo compared with a cocktail solution of free drugs. Co-loaded lipodisks exerted improved cytotoxicity to tumor cells in culture, particularly to drug-resistant tumor cells at synergistic drug ratios. In an in vivo xenograft mouse model, the anti-tumor ability of co-loaded lipodisks was evidenced by the remarkable inhibitory effect on tumor growth of either MCF-7 or MCF-7/ADR tumors, which may be attributed to the increased and ratiometric accumulation of both drugs in the tumor tissues. Therefore, tumor-specific lipodisks were crucial for the combination treatment of DOX and PTX to completely exert a synergistic anti-cancer effect. It is concluded that for co-loaded lipodisks, cytotoxicity data in vitro could be used to predict their inhibitory activity in vivo , potentially enhancing the clinical outcome of synergistic therapy.

Industrial production of vinyl chloride through acetylene hydrochlorination is a dominating technique in coal-rich areas, but its development is severely restricted by the use of toxic mercury chloride (HgCl 2 ) catalyst. Inspired by the fact that doped carbon materials active in acetylene hydrochlorination often have good performance in the oxygen reduction reaction, a series of cobalt and nitrogen co-doped porous carbon catalysts prepared by pyrolysis of bimetallic ZIFs based on ZIF-8 and ZIF-67 under N 2 were applied in acetylene hydrochlorination. The catalytic activities of the co-doped catalysts varied with Co addition, and the highest acetylene conversion could be up to 83% with a space velocity of 2.6 ml g −1 min −1 at 220°C when a small amount of cobalt was introduced. Results of several characterizations confirmed the existence of Co–N x in the co-doped carbons, pointing out that this coordination structure makes the catalysts have better ability to adsorb and activate C 2 H 2 . Density functional theory calculation finally proved that C atom adjacent to the N atom in Co–N 4 structure is the primary active site in co-doped catalysts with high activity. We also conclude that the decreased N content caused by Co 2 N decomposition and the coordination structure change of Co–N x should be responsible for the gradually worsening performances of the carbon catalysts with further Co addition. Our study provides a new route for improving the performance of N-doped carbon material in acetylene hydrochlorination and thus enhances its potential for practical application.

The exploration of highly efficient nonprecious metal-based electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is of great importance for potential applications in sustainable energy conversion. Recently, the layered metal hydroxide (LMH) family is receiving extensive research attention owing to its unique structural properties. However, the gained electrocatalytic performance of LMH-based catalysts for the OER is still far from the state-of-the-art requirements because of its finite number and poor reactivity of exposed active sites. In response, we synthesized crystal lattice distorted ultrathin cobalt hydroxide (denoted as CLD-u-Co(OH)2) nanosheets with a great number of efficient catalytic active sites through the introduction of Ga into ultrathin Co(OH)2, followed by a selective removal of Ga, denoted as the “introduction @ removal” process. As a result, the crystal lattice distortion confined inside CLD-u-Co(OH)2 generates abundant elongated Co–OOH bonds on exposed (10) facets serving as efficient catalytic active sites for the OER. Besides, the optimized amount of “introduction @ removal” of Ga (4 at%) allows for an exquisite balance between distortion engineering and electrical conductivity, synergistically. The as-prepared CLD-u-Co(OH)2 achieves an overpotential of 265 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm−−2, an unexpectedly small Tafel slope of 47 mV dec−−1, and a long-term stability (beyond 20 h) in basic media. It is mainly attributed to abundant catalytic active sites, robust reactivity per site, and good electrical conductivity. Furthermore, the green and sustainable engineering of crystal lattice distortion to improve the intrinsic electrocatalytic activity of CLD-u-Co(OH)2 nanosheets presented in this work may provide a promising strategy to design and synthesize newly highly efficient LMH-based electrocatalysts for the OER.

Metal−organic framework (MOF)-derived magnetic porous carbon not only have excellent magnetic loss, but also can construct various nanostructures through appropriate design to enhance electromagnetic waves (EMWs) absorption. Herein, magnetic porous carbon (Co/Ni@C) derived from rod-shaped Co/Ni-MOFs was selected as magnetic components and MXene was regarded as conductive materials to construct the three-dimensional porous Co/Ni@C/MXene/cellulose-derived carbon foams via a simple solution mixing-regeneration, freeze-drying process and a facile pyrolysis strategy. Due to the electric/magnetic coupling loss and the interfacial polarization loss caused by multi-interface architecture, the synthesized carbon foam achieves an absorption coefficient of 0.54 and a high EMI SE of 70.4 dB, which enhances the electromagnetic shielding performance without damaging the high absorption coefficient. This work provides a basis for the preparation of electromagnetic shielding composite materials with multi-interface structures to achieve efficient EMI SE and superior absorption coefficients.

Achieving both high catalytic performance and low thermal expansion coefficient poses a challenge for the cathode materials in protonic ceramic fuel cells (PCFCs). Most efforts are directed towards reducing the thermal expansion coefficient of Co-based materials, where often accompanies sacrifices in performance. In this article, bits of Co and Ni elements was dopped in BaPrO 3 material to adjust the electronical and proton transport ability. Triple-conducting oxide BaPr 1-x M x O 3-δ (M = Co/Ni, x = 0.1 and 0.2) was prepared as potential cathode for protonic ceramic fuel cells (PCFCs). The crystal structure, conductivity, proton uptake, proton transport, and electrochemical performance of were characterized in detail by experiment and first-principles calculations. BaPrO 3 , BaPr 0.9 Co 0.1 O 3-δ, and BaPr 0.8 Co 0.1 Ni 0.1 O 3-δ (BPCN) material present n-type conductive behavior while BaPr 0.9 Ni 0.1 O 3-δ material present p-type conductive behavior at high temperature. Among them, BPCN material presents the best performance for the highest electron and proton transport ability. The single cell with single BPCN material as cathode showed good performance with a peak power density of 1.42 W cm −2 and polarization resistance of only 0.07 Ω cm 2 at 700 °C, and there was no significant degradation within 100 h. The performance of Pr-based material is comparable to that of most Co and Fe-based materials, which gave a guide for the development of novel cathodes for PCFCs.

A new poly(1-dodecene-co-trimethylol propane triacrylate-co-ethylene dimethacrylate) [poly(C12-co-TMPTA-co-EDMA)] monolithic column was prepared via in situ free-radical polymerization reaction. Various parameters affecting the polymerization were investigated and optimized. The permeability of the monolithic column was calculated as 2.9098 × 10−14 m2 with methanol as the mobile phase and the surface areas was 73.1 m2/g by the nitrogen adsorption–desorption experiment. The morphologies of the monolith were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and the mechanical strength has been studied in detail as well. The prepared monolith was then used as the stationary phase of reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) to separate small molecule compounds. Column efficiency for chlorobenzene reached 14,340 theoretical plates per meter. The monolith also showed satisfactory reproducibility, based on the retention times of benzene, phenol, chlorobenzene, diphenylamine, and anthracene; the relative standard deviation (RSD) values for run-to-run, column-to-column and batch-to-batch were less than 0.62%, 3.2%, and 5.7%, respectively.

To meet the practical demands of flexible fiber-shaped supercapacitors (FSSCs) for wearable electronics, it's crucial to develop electrodes with both high energy density and flexibility. In this work, an ultrahigh capacitance (Co,Mn)(Co,Mn) 2 O 4 /Ni(OH) 2 (CMO/Ni(OH) 2 ) fiber electrode is designed. The (Co,Mn)(Co,Mn) 2 O 4 (CMO) nanosheets possessing large specific surface area and enriched active sites, which can be served as nano-substrate for the electrodeposition of Ni(OH) 2 . This special structure facilitates the exposure of more electroactive sites and accelerate rapid electrons transfer, resulting in boosted electrochemical performance. Benefiting from these advantages, the area capacitance of the CMO/Ni(OH) 2 electrode is up to 4787.6 mF cm −2 at 1 mA cm −2 , which is approximately 15 times higher than that of the CMO (311 mF cm −2 ), and 6.7 times higher than that of the Ni(OH) 2 (718 mF cm −2 ). Coupled with activated carbon (AC) electrode, the assembled all-solid-state CMO/Ni(OH) 2 //AC FSSCs demonstrate a high energy density of 89.45 μW h cm −2 at 1505 μW cm −2 , along with great flexibility and stability. Moreover, these devices can be integrated into clothes, and electronic watch, serving as an energy supply. This work offers a novel approach to designing high-performance fiber electrode for wearable flexible energy storage devices.

The rational design of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) provides potential opportunities for improving energy conversion efficiency. However, developing efficient MOF-based electrocatalysts remains highly challenging. Herein, a strategy involving strain engineering is developed to promote the electrocatalytic performance of MOFs by optimizing electronic configuration and improving the active site. As expected, the optimized CoFe–BDC NO 2 exhibits a low overpotential of 292 mV at 10 mA cm –2 and a small Tafel slope of 31.6 mV dec –1 as oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalyst. Notably, when CoFe–BDC NO 2 is prepared on Nickel foam (NF), the overpotential is only 345 mV at 1 A cm –2 , which ensures efficient water oxidation properties. Integrating CoFe–BDC NO 2 /NF anode in membrane electrode assembly (MEA) for overall water splitting and CO 2 reduction reaction (CO 2 RR) tests, the results show that the cell voltages of CoFe–BDC NO 2 /NF are 3.14 and 3.09 V at 300 mA cm –2 (25 °C), respectively, indicating that MOFs have various practical application prospects. The research of the structure-performance relationship reveals the lattice oxygen oxidation mechanism (LOM) where the Co-O-Fe bond is formed during the OER process by changing the electronic environment and coordination structure of CoFe–BDC NO 2 , and with high valence Co as active center, which provides a deep understanding of the structure design of MOFs and their structural transformation during OER.

In this study, we have proposed an electrochemiluminescence (ECL) signal amplification system which is based on two-dimensional (2D) flower-like CdS@Co/Mo-MOF composites as a co-reaction accelerator of the g-C3N4/S2O82−system for ultrasensitive detection of chlorpromazine hydrochloride (CPH). Specifically, the 2D flower-like Co/Mo-MOF with mesoporous alleviated the aggregation of CdS NPs while simultaneously fostering reactant-active site contact and improving the reactant–product transport rate. This allowed the material to act as a novel co-reaction accelerator, speeding up the transformation of the S2O82−into SO4•−and enhancing the cathodic ECL emission of g-C3N4. Moreover, the signal probe which was synthesized by coupling the 2D CdS@Co/Mo-MOF and graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) achieved the generation of SO4•−in situ and reduced energy loss. The results confirmed that the ECL signal was enhanced 6.2-fold and stabilized by CdS@Co/Mo-MOF. Based on the extremely strong quenching effect of chlorpromazine hydrochloride (CPH) on this system, a “signal-off” type sensor was constructed. The sensor demonstrated excellent sensitivity and linear response to CPH concentrations ranging from 1 pmol L−1to 100 μmol L−1, with a low detection limit of 0.4 pmol L−1(S/N = 3).

The multi-layer composite filler metal (YG18 surface pre-plated with Co layer + Ag–Cu–In–Ti filler metal) was designed in this study. The mechanism of modulation of Co-depleted zone and shear strength of joints by Co plating was elucidated. A more significant Co-rich layer existed around the WC particles, meanwhile, the presence of plastical Ag–Cu–In ternary eutectic between the Ti Co layer and the YG18/TiC layer relieved the joint stress and ensured that no cracks were generated in the Ti Co layer. Under the condition that the width of the Co-depleted zone was smaller (less than 3 μm), the presence of the dispersed Ti 2 Cu particles surrounded by the plastic phases ternary eutectic and Cu [s, s] in the filler layer was superior in terms of preventing crack propagation and absorbing the stress concentration. The best modulation of the filler layer microstructure and the Co-depleted zone was achieved when the pre-plated Co layer was around 2.5 μm. The Co-depleted zone was reduced by 50%, and the shear strength of joints was increased by 49% to 291 MPa. The results of the study provide a new way to design new multilayer composite filler metal.

Controlling both CO and NOx pollutants without additional cost is necessary but challenging, especially in industrial flue gas with complex components. Previous studies mainly focused on the effect of O 2 and SO 2 on the CO oxidation side reaction and valence state of Ir species on various catalysts, while neglecting the impact on NO conversion pathway. Herein, we propose an "ineffective reaction pathway" in the presence of O 2 with nitrate as an intermediate according to the results of in situ DRIFTS and DFT. And we also reveal the contribution of SO 2 in inhibiting the adsorption of O 2 and promoting the selective adsorption of NO and CO even at lower injection concentrations, based on the oxidation of SO 2 on Ir(111). This is quite a favorable characteristic for the treatment of industrial flue gas, resolving the long–standing dispute on the involvement of these components in the CO–SCR reaction. Under specific conditions (CO/NO=20, O 2 =5%, SO 2 =200 ppm) at 250 °C, the NOx conversion is as high as 78%. These results will contribute to the development of more efficient catalysts in the future for simultaneously controlling two pollutants (CO and NOx).

With the advancement of perovskite research, there is a growing urgency to address the imperative need for practical applications while simultaneously tackling the enduring challenges of material reliability and lead (Pb) toxicity. The crystallization, morphology and optical properties of the resultant film and device performance during solution processing are heavily influenced by the solution-based intermediate, a state determined using the coordination between solute and solvent. Solvent–solute coordination is closely correlated with solvent characteristics including ionization capabilities, dielectric constant, hydrolysis, and reactivity with solutes. Deionized water (D-water) characterized by its high polarity, ionization capability, and dielectric constant, when used as a co-solvent with dimethylformamide (DMF) and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), facilitates stronger coordination with CsI/SnI4 species in Cs2SnI6 precursor solution. This enhanced coordination leads to improved solvation, precursor reactivity, and solution homogeneity. Incorporating an appropriate amount of D-water as a co-solvent into Cs2SnI6 precursor solution allows for tuning solvent coordination and control over the resulting thin film crystallization and morphology. The co-solvent diluted optimized Cs2SnI6 thin film leads to the fabrication of energy-efficient broadband 4 × 3 photodetector arrays ranging from UV to NIR giving a responsivity of 5.5 A W−1 at a substantially lower bias voltage of −0.1 V with stable operation stability in ambient air. These findings underscore the potential advantages of solution-processed Cs2SnI6 perovskites in various optoelectronic applications.
