Dielectric thin film capacitors are characterized by high energy density, rapid charge-discharge, high usable efficiency, and high breakdown field strength, and are widely used in electronics and novel energy technologies. To address the trade-off among polarization, efficiency, and breakdown strength in traditional single-layer dielectric capacitors, this study employs a low-cost sol-gel method to synthesize a BTO/PLCT/BTO sandwich structure film. By optimizing the annealing process, an amorphous/ferroelectric/amorphous multilayer phase structure coexistence was achieved. With increasing annealing temperature, the polarized nanoregions within the amorphous BTO layer expand, while the PLCT layer crystallizes into a ferroelectric phase. At 600 ° C, the synergistic amorphous/ferroelectric/amorphous phase effect is optimized, yielding an energy storage density of 80 J/cm 3 and an efficiency of 86% under an electric field of 5.4 MV/cm. Meanwhile, from room temperature to 150 ° C, the film achieves excellent dielectric and energy storage stability over a wide temperature range (variation rates of dielectric property and energy storage performance below 5%). After 10 9 fatigue cycles, the film still maintains the stability of its electrical performance (variation rate of Δ W rec /Δ W rec-initial ≤ 4%). This amorphous/ferroelectric/amorphous composite film overcomes the trade-off among polarization, usable efficiency, and breakdown strength inherent in single-phase materials, providing a viable strategy for fabricating high-stability energy storage films.

Laser-induced 3D porous graphene enables scalable, low-cost biosensing. • PB/PEDOT/Au composite synergistically enhances stability, antifouling, and electroactivity. • The immunosensor achieves ultrasensitive detection of H1N1 and a wide dynamic range. • Label-free and pretreatment-free detection is successfully demonstrated in complex biological matrices. As a major cause of seasonal influenza, H1N1 virus requires advanced monitoring. Custom-patterned conductive graphene microelectrodes are essential for building relevant sensing platforms. In this study, a label-free H1N1 electrochemical immunosensor was developed based on a sequentially engineered laser-induced graphene (LIG)/Prussian blue (PB)/poly3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (PEDOT)/Au nanocomposite microelectrode. Unlike previous studies that focused on single-component modifications, our approach integrates multiple functional layers to synergistically enhance signal stability, sensitivity, and antifouling performance. The LIG microelectrode was fabricated using a low-cost intelligent semiconductor laser, which directly patterned a three-electrode system on a polyimide (PI) film. Subsequently, PB, PEDOT, and gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) were sequentially electrodeposited onto the LIG electrode. PB served as an ultrasensitive electrochemical signal reporter, while the encapsulating PEDOT polymer layer not only stabilized the electrical signal of PB in neutral environments but also significantly enhanced the electrode's antifouling properties. To construct the label-free immunosensor, Au NPs were introduced to improve conductivity and were functionalized via Au–S–COOH bonding for the immobilization of H1N1 antibodies. Under optimal conditions, the LIG/PB/PEDOT/Au composite electrode exhibited excellent electrochemical activity and conductivity. The fabricated immunosensor demonstrated ultrahigh sensitivity with a wide concentration range from 0.1 fg mL −1 to 100 ng mL −1 , and an extremely low detection limit of 0.063 fg mL −1 . The results confirmed that the immunosensor possesses excellent selectivity, precision, and stability, and is thus suitable for the analysis of complex biological samples without the need for labeled probes and sample pretreatment. Therefore, this environmentally friendly and label-free immunosensing platform represents a significant advancement in point-of-care biosensing and demonstrates strong potential for rapid on-site screening and prevention of infectious disease outbreaks. A label-free immunosensor based on laser-induced graphene microelectrode modified with PB/PEDOT/Au nanocomposite enables ultra-sensitive detection of H1N1 virus in complex biological samples without pretreatment. Lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) in soil threaten agroecosystem safety and human health. Due to the high bioavailability and mobility of heavy metals in red soil, the risk is further increased. Biochar is widely used for heavy metal immobilization, but original biochar suffers from inherent limitations. Most existing studies of iron (Fe)–manganese (Mn) modified biochar have not focused on red soil, and the relationship with soil–plant responses remains unclear. This study aimed to evaluate and compare the efficacy of sugarcane bagasse biochar (BC) and Fe–Mn modified sugarcane bagasse biochar (FMBC) for Pb and Cd immobilization in red soil, and clarify their effect on plant uptake. BC and FMBC were applied to Pb and Cd contaminated red soil for pot experiments with pak choi ( Brassica rapa chinensis ) as an indicator plant. The results showed that both BC and FMBC elevated soil pH, organic matter (SOM), enzyme activities, reduced Pb and Cd bioavailability, and transformed Pb and Cd to stable fractions. FMBC outperformed BC, and the 5% FMBC treatment achieved the optimal remediation efficacy. The 5% FMBC decreased the acid-extractable Pb and Cd by 9.33 and 34.40% compared to control. The plant biomass was significantly increased, Pb and Cd content in edible shoots met the limit standards, and bioconcentration (BCF) and translocation factors (TF) were lowered. Overall, this study establishes theoretical foundations and empirical bases for the application of FMBC to immobilize Pb and Cd in red soils, thereby providing a feasible and eco-friendly approach to support sustainable agriculture and the recycling of agricultural waste.

With the rapid development of industrialization, heavy metal pollution has become a major challenge in aquatic environmental management. In this work, a novel gel-type ion exchanger based composite adsorbent (Zr-Fe-Y-001) was prepared with metal resources in zirconium material production wastewater for removal of Pb(Ⅱ) from aqueous solution. Zr-Fe-Y-001 contained sub-5 nm particles that were uniformly confined within the resin micropores, enhancing its Pb(Ⅱ) adsorption capacity substantially, which surpassed previously reported values. Batch experiments demonstrated that the adsorption capacity of Zr-Fe-Y-001 for Pb(Ⅱ) increased with rising pH within a range of 1–6. This capacity remained stable within the pH range of 1–6, and it maintained high selectivity even in the presence of competing ions, such as Ca(Ⅱ) and Mg(Ⅱ). The kinetic data were well described by the pseudo-first-order model, while the adsorption isotherms were dominated by the Langmuir model, yielding a maximum theoretical capacity of 842.07 mg/g at 313 K. The fixed-bed experiment demonstrated that Zr-Fe-Y-001 effectively reduced Pb(Ⅱ) concentration in wastewater to < 10 μg/L, as recommended by the World Health Organization for drinking water. Remarkably, the adsorbent retained over 90 % of its initial capacity after three regeneration cycles, confirming exceptional stability and recyclability. This study provides an effective and sustainable technical solution for the resource utilization of valuable metals in zirconium material production wastewater and the treatment of heavy metal pollution.

Monolithic adsorbents have become promising materials for removing contaminants in wastewater. By combining the macrostructural advantage of monolithic materials with their excellent surface function, these materials offer significant potential for practical applications. This study proposes an efficient and economical preparation method for developing high-performance chitosan-based monolithic adsorbent for Pb 2+ removal. In brief, melamine foam (MF) was pre-modified with polydopamine (PDA), and chitosan (CS) was uniformly loaded onto the modified foam via a “crosslinking-surface deposition” process. The resulting monolithic adsorbent (CS/PDA@MF) exhibited a high adsorption capacity for Pb 2+ (174 mg g −1 ) and achieved equilibrium adsorption time (<120 min) in batch adsorption experiments. The material demonstrated excellent elastic properties, allowing for easy manual collection using tweezers. Six cycles of adsorption/desorption experiments proved satisfying reusability. Additionally, a fixed-bed column was prepared using CS/PDA@MF to investigate the continuous flow adsorption behavior, showing excellent potential for practical applications. The adsorption mechanism was explored by ATR FT-IR and XPS characterization. This study provides a technical foundation for research into high-performance CS-based monolithic adsorbents, which are expected to be promising candidates for environmental remediation.

Wastewater containing heavy metals and organic dye pollutants discharged into receiving waters poses a serious environmental concern. Herein, a novel EDTA-chitosan/alginate porous composite bead adsorbent (EC–AB) was reported for the simultaneous removal of lead (Pb(II)) and methyl blue (MB) complexes from wastewater. Characterization results showed that EC–AB contained plenty of oxygen/nitrogen functional groups. The effect of CaCO3 addition, pH of the initial solution, contact time, initial pollutant concentration, and ionic strength on EC–AB pollutant removal performance and the adsorption mechanism were systematically analyzed. These findings indicated that EC–AB exhibited high removal efficiency over a wide pH range and at high ionic strength. The maximum adsorption capacities of EC–AB for Pb(II) and MB were 504.11 mg g−1 and 660.76 mg g−1, respectively, at 298 K. Adsorption kinetics and isotherm studies indicated that the adsorption well fitted the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Langmuir isotherm. A possible adsorption mechanism involving electrostatic attraction, chelation, ion exchange, H-bonding and synergistic effects was proposed. Moreover, EC–AB showed superior stability and reusability, with removal efficiencies of 76.64% for Pb(II) and 80.29% for MB after five continuous adsorption–desorption cycles for treating complex wastewater. In summary, this work provides a beneficial strategy for designing high-performance adsorbents for the treatment of wastewater.

Polypyrrole-sepiolite ( PPy/SPL ) nanofibers were prepared by in situ chemical oxidation polymerization in the presence of sepiolite. A PPy/SPL composite modified glassy carbon electrode ( PPy/SPL/GCE ) was prepared and characterized by scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and electrochemical methods. Differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry for the simultaneous determination of trace Pb(II) and Cd(II) was carried out at the PPy/SPL/GCE. Operational parameters such as the deposition potential and time, the amount of modified suspension, and the pH values were optimized for the purpose of determination of trace metal ions in 0.10 M acetate buffer solution. Under the optimal conditions, the stripping peak currents showed good linear relationships with Pb(II) and Cd(II) at concentration ranges of 5.0 × 10 –9 ‒1.2 × 10 –6 M and 5.0 × 10 –9 ‒1.2 × 10 –7 M, and the detection limits were 1.2 and 1.5 nM, respectively. The proposed method is applicable to the simultaneous determination of trace Pb(II) and Cd(II) in real water samples with the relative standard deviations of less than 4.4% and the recovery rates of 97.9‒102.2%.

The co-firing compatibility between green tape and the Ag electrode is a crucial characteristic in low-temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) technology and plays a vital role in improving the performance and application status of LTCC device modules. In this work, we studied the effects of lead content on the glass viscosity, the microstructure, and co-firing compatibility of silver electrode film. It was found that the softening point and viscosity of the glass were decreased, and the wettability between the glass and silver was improved with the increase of the lead content, which promoted the co-firing densification and interfacial bonding between the silver electrode film and the ceramic layer. The film presented the best electrical properties co-firing at 875 °C for 15 min, with the resistivity of 1.21 mΩ/sq. And the film was densified. The sintering interface was clear and well bonded. The results showed that an appropriate lead content in glass could effectively improve the interfacial bonding and the electrical properties during co-fired process, providing a new control methodology for realizing co-fired matching of the silver electrode film with low-temperature co-fired ceramics.

To overcome the irreversible sulfation and improve the lifespan of lead-acid batteries (LABs), we propose a novel Pb/PbO@C nanocomposite with botryoidal architecture derived from eggplant biomass as effective additives to the negative plates. Such unique structure, sharing a three-dimensional conductive carbon network with macropores , effectively facilitates electron transport and boosts ion diffusion as well as suppresses the growth of PbSO 4 during charge-discharge process. The hierarchical carbon framework is also responsible for dispersing active material Pb to limit the particle aggregation. As a result, the LAB equipped with 2.0 wt% Pb/PbO@C-700 shows an excellent rate capability and outstanding high-rate partial state of charge (HRPSoC) cycling performance of 8.2 times compared to that of the LAB without additive. Pb/PbO@C additive is expected to be a promising candidate for commercial application in LABs.

Given the serious health risks posed by Pb(II) contamination in natural waters, significant efforts have focused on developing electrochemical sensors for its detection, centering on the design of sensitive, stable, and low-cost electrode materials. In this work, a lead ion-imprinted polymer (MWCNTs@SiO 2 @IIP) was synthesized via a surface ion-imprinting technique, employing vinyl trimethoxysilane-modified multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) as the substrate. A comprehensive characterization of MWCNTs@SiO 2 @IIP was carried out by means of a variety of advanced characterization technologies. An electrochemical sensor, designated as MWCNTs@SiO 2 @IIP/CPE, was fabricated by incorporating the polymer into a carbon paste electrode. Key parameters affecting the inspection of Pb 2+ , including the amount of imprinted polymer, electrolyte pH, deposition potential, and deposition time, were systematically investigated. The sensor exhibited a second-order linear response across two concentration ranges: 2–30 μg·L −1 and 30–240 μg·L −1 , with a calculated detection limit of 0.61 μg·L −1 . Furthermore, the imprinted sensor demonstrated high repeatability, excellent stability, and remarkable selectivity. The constructed electrochemical sensor thus presents an advanced strategy for the expedient and selective detection of lead ions in aqueous conditions.

The visual-inertial odometry (VIO) system enables continuous and accurate tracking of high-speed moving objects, offering distinct advantages for unmanned vehicles and mobile robots, but spatiotemporal inconsistency between components data often degrades overall performance. Here, we demonstrate a visual inertia-inspired multimode sensor (VIMS) based on FAPbI 3 (FA/PbI 2 = 4:1) organic–inorganic hybrid perovskite quantum dots (OIHPQDs) sensitized MoS 2 heterostructure, featuring reconfigurable photodetector (PD) and photosynaptic (PS) functions, successfully demonstrating single-device functional integration for VIO. The heterostructure exhibits light-power-selective, Pb–S coupled-mediated charge transport, enabling distinct light response speeds for PD and PS mode switching while overcoming the need for lattice matching in heterostructure coupling. Moreover, uniform-sized FAPbI 3 is obtained using a self-designed microfluidic technique, ensuring excellent reproducibility in the fabricated heterointerface. The developed devices exhibit a high specific detectivity ( D * ) gain of ≈ 1000 under 0.039 mW/cm 2 dim light, excellent synaptic plasticity with 90% recognition accuracy and 40% noise tolerance, and optical secure communication capability with response times over 10 times faster than in PS mode. More importantly, the dual-mode VIMS array enables real-time tracking of dynamic grayscale and static attitude information from high-speed Newton's cradle and billiards, demonstrating dynamic/static information fusion for positioning and monitoring.

Exploring novel photoelectric functional materials via chemical substitution-oriented design is an effective strategy, which can be expanded to the discovery of high-performance UV nonlinear optical (NLO) materials. Two new NLO pyrophosphates, Rb3BaBi(P2O7)2 (I) and Cs3BaBi(P2O7)2 (II), are rationally developed by a cation substitution technique based on A3PbBi(P2O7)2 (A = Rb and Cs), of which I inherits the large second-harmonic generation (SHG) response (exptl 2.5 × KDP; calcd 2.9 × KDP) and moderate birefringence (0.025@1064 nm) accompanied by a broadened UV transparent region. Compounds I and II are isomeric and exhibit different Ba–P–O frameworks. Especially, I possesses a large SHG effect benefiting from the favorable pentagonal-net topological structure. Detailed theory calculations elucidate the origin of the linear and nonlinear optical properties of the compounds. The insights obtained from the atomic-level module adjustment involving lone-pair-active optical anisotropy are useful for designing more efficient UV NLO materials.
