A new nitrogen-rich energetic complex Cd(DMF) 2 BTZAF (1) (DMF= N,N-Dimethylformamide, H 2 BTZAF= 3, 3′-bis(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)-4, 4′-azofurazan) was first synthesized by the reaction of Cd(NO 3 ) 2 ·4H 2 O with 4-amino-3-(5-tetrazolate)-furazan. The compound 1 was characterized by elemental analysis and FT-IR spectrum analysis, respectively. The crystal structure of complex 1 was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It revealed that 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2 1 /c. A Cd 2+ ion is coordinated by four N atoms and two O atoms to form a distorted octahedral structure. Among them, four nitrogen atoms are from the four BTZAF 2− ions and the other two oxygen atoms are from two DMF molecules. Moreover, the thermal decomposition behavior of compound 1 was studied with DSC and TG-DTG methods. The non-isothermal kinetic parameters of compound 1 was calculated by Kissinger's method and Ozawa-Doyle's method. In addition, the thermal safety performance and the impact sensitivity of complex 1 were measured and calculated, and the results showed that the synthetic compound has good insensitivity and stability.

A reliable liquid chromatography/tandem mass (LC-MS/MS) method was developed for quantitation of 3′, 4′-dimethoxy flavonol-3-β- d -glucopyranoside (DF3G) in rat plasma using pantoprazole as the internal standard. An Agilent C18 column (100 mm × 3 mm, 3.5 μm) was performed for chromatographic separation with the mobile phase composed of methanol-water (containing formic acid) at a flow rate of 0.4 mL/min. A triple-quadrupole mass spectrometry equipped with an electrospray ionization (ESI) source in positive ion mode was applied to quantitative analysis by multiple reacting monitoring (MRM). The MRM precursor-product ion transition of DF3G and Pantoprazole (IS) were m / z 461.1 → 299.2 and 383.9 → 200.2, respectively. Calibration curves were recovered in a concentration range of 1–500 ng/mL for plasma with a limit of lower quantification (LLOQ) of 1 ng/mL. The intra-day and inter-day precision were not >10%. The accuracy of DF3G ranged from −10% to 0.53% in quality control (QC) samples at three concentrations. DF3G was not degraded during the analysis and the storage period. All the data were validated in accordance with the FDA bioanalytical method validation guideline. The LC-MS/MS method was successfully employed in the pharmacokinetic study of the DF3G after oral administration and intravenous injection in rats.

Nanohybrids fabricated with upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) and gold nanoparticles (NPs) hold great promise for near-infrared photothermal therapy (NIR-PTT) and upconversion fluorescence imaging. However, the obstacles of poor solubility in water and finite hydrophilic modification method for UCNPs limit their application in biological fields. Herein, we report a novel UCNP@Al(OH)3/Au nanohybrid mediated by a highly hydrophilic and biocompatible Al(OH)3 layer to realize a synergistic targeted PTT and fluorescence imaging capability to U87MG tumor-bearing mice under NIR light irradiation. The modification with Al(OH)3 layers can improve the water solubility of UCNPs. And cytotoxicity assays and hemolysis assay showed that the modification with Al(OH)3 layers makes UCNPs have low cytotoxicity and good biocompatibility. In addition, the Al(OH)3 layers are thin enough to allow fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) between UCNPs and gold NPs to occur, giving the NPs a good PTT effect for tumor-bearing mice. Meanwhile, as the pH-sensitive Al(OH)3 layers decompose in acidic tumor microenvironments with Au NPs detached from their surface, the FRET effect no longer occurred, subsequently leading to the fluorescence intensity of naked UCNPs being recovered for good imaging effects. The study suggests that Al(OH)3 mediation layer as a promising hydrophilic nanoplatform can potentially be used for the preparation of superior hydrophilic NPs and pH-stimulated drug release carriers for theranostic application in vivo.

1-[3-(N-Pyrrole)propyl]-3-[1-tert-butoxy-carbonylamino-propyl]imidazolium tetrafluoroborate ionic liquid was successfully synthesized and characterized. The ionic liquid was electrochemically polymerized onto a glassy carbon electrode surface using a multi-potential step technique. Morphology and electrochemical properties of the polymerized ionic liquid film electrode were studied with scanning electronic microscopy and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Using the polymerized ionic liquid film as a sensing platform, electrochemical behaviors of magnolol were investigated by voltammetry. Under optimal experimental conditions, the oxidation peak currents were linearly related to magnolol concentrations in the range from 5.0 × 10 −8 to 1.0 × 10 −5 mol L −1 . The detection limit calculated from the standard deviation of the intercept was 2.3 × 10 −7 mol L −1 . Practical application of the polymerized ionic liquid film electrode was demonstrated by determining magnolol in the traditional Chinese medicine. The result is consistent with that obtained using high performance liquid chromatography.

The proliferation of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) in vitro is a key challenge for cartilage tissue engineering and their clinical applications. In this study, novel dextran grafting PHBV (PHBV-DEX) fibrous scaffolds were fabricated via surface modification. Compared with the electrospun PHBV fibrous scaffolds, dextran modified ones exhibited significantly enhanced surface hydrophilicity and bioactivity. The water contact angle (WCA) of those scaffolds was reduced from 117.3±4.30° to 56.03±1.13° after dextran modification. PHBV-DEX scaffold significantly promoted the growth of BMSCs compared with unmodified one, suggesting that it can be potentially applied in tissue engineering.

Plantation poplar is one of the most commonly used fast-growing woods in China. However, it is susceptible to weathering due to climatic conditions such as sunlight irradiation, rain, temperature changes, and oxidation. Ultraviolet (UV)-induced discoloration is a noticeable problem of this wood during its outdoor use. In this study, titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) nanoparticles were deposited onto a wood surface via a bridge of 3-isocyanatopropyltriethoxysilane (IPTS). Accelerated weathering tests were conducted by exposing wood veneers to UV, water spraying, and condensation for 336 h to evaluate the treatment effect on their anti-weathering properties. During treatment, TiO 2 nanoparticles were bonded with IPTS and grafted onto the wood surface via the isocyanate group. The nanoparticles functioned as a UV filter and reduced photodegradation, while IPTS helped prevent the wood from collapsing. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy showed that the photodegradation of lignin during weathering was effectively inhibited after treatment. After artificial weathering for 192 h, the color difference (Δ E ) of both untreated and IPTS-treated woods increased up to 40 while that of IPTS-TiO 2 -treated wood increased only to 12. The results suggest that IPTS-TiO 2 modification is feasible for improving the anti-weathering properties of poplar wood and may provide an effective strategy for industrial wood modification.

Utilizing end-of-life poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) as a carbon source for the production of value-added chemicals has attracted increasing interest in recent years. In this report, an organocatalytic pyrolysis method was explored for chemical recycling of PHB into trans -crotonic acid (CA). Under relatively mild conditions and through the promotion of organic base catalysts, the CA was recovered with high efficiency and yield. The effect of reaction conditions on the depolymerization process, such as types of catalysts, solvent polarity, temperature, and molar equivalents of PHB to catalyst, was investigated in detail. This work is the first to achieve the pyrolysis of PHB using organic base catalysts, which provides a green and efficient option for plastic degradation and promotes the development of circular plastic economy.

Organic anion transporters (OATs in humans, Oats in rodents) play an important role in the distribution and excretion of numerous endogenous metabolic products and exogenous organic anions , including a host of widely prescribed drugs. Their ligand recognition is also important for drug therapy and development. In this study, the n -butanol and dichloromethane soluble fractions of Juniperus oblonga were found to inhibit OAT3 in vitro and three biflavonoids were found to be responsible for this activity. One of these compounds, amentoflavone exhibited stronger inhibition than probenecid, a known strong inhibitor of OAT3. Biological characterization of amentoflavone in vivo also showed inhibition of Oat3. Preliminary observations of structure-activity relationships suggest that the biflavonoids are more potent inhibitors of this transporter than their corresponding monomer, and that methylation of even a single hydroxyl group results in a substantial decrease in activity. This greater potency of the biflavonoids may indicate the need for a more in-depth investigation of the distribution of biflavonoids in plants used as foodstuffs and herbal medicines, due to their potential for causing interactions with OAT3 substrate drugs.

The graphene oxide (GO) was prepared by the Hummers method, and then functionalized by 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane. Functionalized graphene oxide (FGO) was characterized by using Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and thermogravimetric analysis (TG). The results show that 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane reacted with hydroxyl group of graphene oxide. The FGO have a sheet-like structure with wrinkles. The shifts of XRD peaks to low degree for FGO indicate the occurrence of intercalation of 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane and as well as increase in the thermal stability.

Novel nanocubic KTi2(PO4)3 was successfully fabricated via a facile hydrothermal method combined with a subsequent annealing treatment and further evaluated as an electrode material for potassium-ion batteries for the first time. For comparison, carbon-coated KTi2(PO4)3 obtained by a normal cane sugar-assisted method reveals improved electrochemical performances in potassium-ion batteries. This work may give a new insight into developing electrode materials for potassium-ion batteries.

Accurately reconstructing the intricate structure of natural organisms is the long-standing goal of 3-dimensional (3D) bioprinting. Projection-based 3D printing boasts the highest resolution-to-manufacturing time ratio among all 3D-printing technologies, rendering it a highly promising technique in this field. However, achieving standardized, high-fidelity, and high-resolution printing of composite structures using bioinks with diverse mechanical properties remains a marked challenge. The root of this challenge lies in the long-standing neglect of multi-material printability research. Multi-material printing is far from a simple physical assembly of different materials; rather, effective control of material interfaces is a crucial factor that governs print quality. The current research gap in this area substantively hinders the widespread application and rapid development of multi-material projection-based 3D bioprinting. To bridge this critical gap, we developed a multi-material projection-based 3D bioprinter capable of simultaneous printing with 6 materials. Building upon this, we established a fundamental framework for multi-material printability research, encompassing its core logic and essential process specifications. Furthermore, we clarified several critical issues, including the cross-linking behavior of multicomponent bioinks, mechanical mismatch and interface strength in soft–hard composite structures, the penetration behavior of viscous bioinks within hydrogel polymer networks, liquid entrapment and adsorption phenomena in porous heterogeneous structures, and error source analysis along with resolution evaluation in multi-material printing. This study offers a solid theoretical foundation and guidance for the quantitative assessment of multi-material projection-based 3D bioprinting, holding promise to advance the field toward higher precision and the reconstruction of more intricate biological structures.
