The antibiotic therapy usually leads to the bacterial resistance, and the traditional photosensitizer was in “always on” state with damage to normal tissue. Fortunately, the activatable near-infrared photosensitizer has a high depth of tissue penetration, and can be specifically released with low side effect. Therefore, we designed and synthesized a penicillin G acylase (PGA) activable photosensitizer (NFh-PGA), which could be activated to produce NFh-OH. NFh-OH can product singlet oxygen ( 1 O 2 ) under near-infrared light 730 nm excitation, and have an excellent antibacterial effect in vitro and in vivo . The probe accelerates the healing of bacterial infection wounds by near-infrared imaging guiding PDT. This work provides a strategy for the integrated design of diagnosis and treatment of bacterial infection.

Dye effluent damaged the water environment and human health with its massive discharge. In order to eliminate dye from the water environment, a variety of adsorbents were used to investigate dye removal. Graphene oxide (GO) attracted extensive attention due to its excellent surface property in the degradation of dye wastewater. Modified GO with multifunctional groups helped to improve adsorption performance. 3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane modified GO (AS-GO) was fabricated for the removal of Orange G (OG) in this study. The results showed that AS-GO had an excellent adsorption ability of OG. During the reaction process, the maximum adsorptive capacity of OG was up to 576.6 mg/g at T = 313 K and pH = 3 with the initial OG concentration of 100 mg/L and the initial adsorbent dose of 2.5 g/L. The adsorption kinetic process of AS-GO conformed to the pseudo-second-order and Langmuir models. The spontaneous and endothermic adsorption of OG occurred in the adsorption process. The main adsorption mechanisms were electrostatic, π–π and hydrogen bonding interactions in the reaction process. After four cycles of AS-GO, it maintained high removal efficiency owing to its remarkable stability. The scheme of GO modified with AS could hinder the agglomeration of GO and provide more active sites, which would further enhance the adsorption properties and expand its application in water purification. Keywords:adsorption;Orange G;graphene oxide;3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane

Graphite-carbon nitride (g-C 3 N 4 ) was prepared by thermocondensation, and g-C 3 N 4 /BiVO 4 material (GCB) and g-C 3 N 4 /CNTs composite material (GCC) were prepared by doping different contents of BiVO 4 and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with g-C 3 N 4 samples, respectively. Then, BiVO 4 , CNTs, and g-C 3 N 4 samples with different contents were doped to prepare ternary composite material (GCBC). In the performance experiment, Sulfamethoxazole (SMZ) was used as degradation material to evaluate the photocatalytic performance of the prepared samples, and the degradation reaction kinetics equation, quadric cycle stability experiment, free radical capture, and intermediates identification were studied. The intermediates of photocatalytic degradation of SMZ were analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. From the experimental data, it can be seen that for SMZ solution, when the reaction time T = 0 min and retention time rt = 7.53 min, there is a peak corresponding to the substance with m / z [M + H] + of 254, which is judged as SMZ. At 20, 40, and 60 min, rt was 2.00, 7.06, and 9.57 min, indicating the presence of intermediates in the photocatalytic process. Experimental analysis shows that there are three intermediates of SMZ degradation by composite sample GCBC. In this work, three kinds of composite materials were successfully prepared, and a variety of characterization, SMZ as pollutants, test the photocatalytic performance of composite materials (GCB, GCC, and GCBC) samples, and elucidated the cyclic stability of the material, active species capture, and photocatalytic degradation mechanism.

Thin film nanocomposite membrane with a nanomaterial interlayer (TFNi) has attracted extensive attention in recent years. Herein, for the first time, tannic acid (TA) functionalized g-C 3 N 4 nanosheets are used to construct an interlayer for the fabrication of TFNi nanofiltration membranes with enhanced separation performance. The TA-C 3 N 4 nanosheet interlayers possess high hydrophilicity, low resistance for water transport, and strong structural stability, which is conducive to improving water permeance of the TFNi membranes. Meanwhile, the uniformity of interfacial polymerization on the interlayers is improved by virtue of the smooth surface of the interlayer, enabling the formation of an integral and dense polyamide layer with a thickness of only about 10 nm. The TFNi membranes exhibit excellent performance with water permeance of 34.25 L m −2 h −1 bar −1 and Na 2 SO 4 rejection of 98.53%, which are obviously higher than those of the corresponding membrane without TA-C 3 N 4 nanosheets (21.03 L m −2 h −1 bar −1 and 92.04%). The TFNi membranes also show significant selectivity improvement toward divalent/monovalent ions. This work gives inspiration for designing advanced nanofiltration membranes with functionalized nanomaterials acting as interlayers.

The development of a stable and highly active photocatalyst has garnered significant attention in the field of wastewater treatment. In this study, a novel technique involving a facile stirring method was devised to fabricate an array of g-C3N4/ZnO nanowire (ZnO NW) composites. Through the introduction of g-C3N4to augment the generation of electron-hole pairs upon exposure to light, the catalytic efficacy of these composites was found to surpass that of the pristine ZnO NWs when subjected to simulated sunlight. The photocatalytic performance of a 20 mg·L−1methylene blue solution was found to be highest when the doping rate was 25 wt%, resulting in a degradation rate of 99.1% after 60 min. The remarkable enhancement in catalytic efficiency can be ascribed to the emergence of a captivating hetero-junction at the interface of g-C3N4and ZnO NWs, characterized by a harmoniously aligned band structure. This alluring arrangement effectively curtailed charge carrier recombination, amplified light absorption, and augmented the distinct surface area, culminating in a notable boost to the photocatalytic prowess. These findings suggest that the strategic engineering of g-C3N4/ZnO NW heterostructures holds tremendous promise as a pioneering avenue for enhancing the efficacy of wastewater treatment methodologies.Keywords:g-C3N4;ZnO NW;heterostructure;photodegradation

Diabetic patients are prone to developing chronic inflammation after trauma and have persistent nonhealing wounds. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) and recurrent bacterial infections at the site of long-term wounds also further delay skin wound healing and tissue regeneration. In this study, a granular gel (which exhibits ROS scavenging and antibacterial properties) is fabricated based on hyaluronic acid- g -lipoic acid (HA-LA). Briefly, HA-LA is synthesized to fabricate HA-LA microgels, which are further assembled by Ag + via its coordination effect with disulfide in dithiolane to form a granular gel. The extrudable bulk granular gel possesses a shear-thinning feature and is immediately restored to a solid state after extrusion, and this can be easily applied to the whole wound area. Therefore, the grafted LA not only allows for the construction of the granular gel but also removes excess ROS from the microenvironment. Additionally, the presence of Ag + realizes the assembly of microgels and has antibacterial effects. In vivo experiments show that the HA-LA granular gel eliminates excessive ROS at the wound site and up-regulates the secretion of reparative growth factors, thus, accelerating common and diabetic wound healing significantly. Therefore, the ROS-scavenging granular gel that can be applied to the wound surface with chronic inflammation demonstrates strong clinical utility.

Graphical Degradation experiments of TC suggested that SCN/NT-2@PTFE composites showed the best photocatalytic performance under the optimal conditions, the degradation rate of tetracycline reached 99 % after 120 min of irradiation. The preparation of SCN/NT-2@PTFE composite membrane can solve the problem of difficult recovery and secondary contamination of powder catalysts. Herein we synthesized S-g-C 3 N 4 and N−TiO 2 catalysts by hydrothermal and calcination technologies and SCN/NT@PTFE membrane by a vacuum filtration method. The morphology and composition of the synthesized materials were analyzed by different characterization methods (SEM/HRTEM/XRD/XPS/UV-vis et.). The effects of different catalysts, pollutant concentrations, mass of catalyst and pH on the photo-degradation of tetracycline were investigated. The degradation rate of tetracycline by SCN/NT-2@PTFE membrane was as high as 99.9 % after 2 h of illumination. This was mainly because heterogeneous structure between S-g-C 3 N 4 and N−TiO 2 broadened the light absorption range and suppressed the carrier complex. Superoxide radicals (⋅O 2 − ) were proved to play a dominant role in the degradation reaction. After 20 days of stirring in water, the photocatalytic performance of membrane decreased slightly, demonstrating its good stability. The study of SCN/NT-2@PTFE membrane provides a new direction for the development of photocatalysis and membrane.

A variety of 0D nanoparticles (MgO, ZnO, Al 2 O 3 , Fe 2 O 3 , SiO 2 , and TiO 2 ) as nanofiller materials are introduced into polyacrylamide- g -carboxymethyl xylan (PAM- g -CMX) composite hydrogel. The effects of different shapes and different sizes of nanoparticles on the properties of hydrogels are investigated. The properties of nanocomposite hydrogels are analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), rheological analysis, swelling analysis, and mechanical test. Composite hydrogels with nanoparticles exhibit uniform pore structure and smaller pore size in SEM images, resulting in a reduced equilibrium swelling ratio. In addition, the results show that the hydroxyl groups on the surface of the nanoparticles forms hydrogen bonds with the amino groups and carboxyl groups in the PAM- g -CMX cross-linked network which improve the mechanical strength of nanocomposite hydrogels. The hydrogel with 20 nm MgO has the maximum compressive strength (550.9 kPa), tensile strength (28.6 kPa), and the longest elongation (813%) owing to the spherical shape and small size of MnO (20 nm). The hydrogels with nanoparticles maintain the originated 90% strength after 30 cycles of compressive test. The hydrogels with nanoparticles will offer new insights for xylan application.

Sarcosine has been shown to be a new biomarker for prostate cancer that is superior to prostate-specific antigen (PSA). By detecting the concentration of sarcosine in the human body, accurate screening and diagnosis of prostate cancer can be achieved in clinical practice. However, the sarcosine level is extremely low in human serum or urine, and accurate detection of sarcosine concentration is difficult. More work is needed to prepare sarcosine biosensors with good anti-interference performance. In this work, we prepared a sarcosine biosensor using a highly electrocatalytically active nanocomposite comprising platinum/carbon nitride (Pt/g-C3N4) as the electrode modification material. The porous lamellar graphite phase carbon nitride (g-C3N4) prevents the agglomeration of Pt nanoparticles and keeps the Pt nanoparticles in a highly dispersed state. The constructed sarcosine biosensor achieves high sensitivity and can selectively detect low concentrations of sarcosine. Its linear detection range is 2–70 μM, and the limit of detection (LOD) is 0.8 μM (S/N = 3). The prepared sarcosine biosensor shows relatively good performance in terms of resistance to interference caused by electroactive substances and provides the potential to be applied in serum for accurate detection of sarcosine.

The MnFe 2 O 4 /g-C 3 N 4 composites with promising photocatalytic activity were successfully prepared in this study. The structure and morphology of the as-prepared composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and ultraviolet–visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV–Vis DRS), and the photocatalytic activity was evaluated through the degradation of rhodamine B (RhB). It was found that the composites with 30 wt% MnFe 2 O 4 possessed 2.64 times higher photocatalytic activity than that of pure g-C 3 N 4 , and the degradation rate of 30 mg/L RhB solution could reach 97.2% in 90 min under 1 sun irradiation. The promising photocatalytic activity of the composites was mainly attributed to excellent adsorption performance and light absorption capacity of the sample. Simultaneously, the recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pairs was delayed due to the formation of heterojunction between MnFe 2 O 4 and g-C 3 N 4 , and MnFe 2 O 4 /g-C 3 N 4 showed almost no decrease in photocatalytic activity after recycling for five times.

Water pollution is a significant social issue that endangers human health. The technology for the photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants in water can directly utilize solar energy and has a promising future. A novel Co3O4/g-C3N4type-II heterojunction material was prepared by hydrothermal and calcination strategies and used for the economical photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) in water. Benefitting the development of type-II heterojunction structure, the separation and transfer of photogenerated electrons and holes in 5% Co3O4/g-C3N4photocatalyst was accelerated, leading to a degradation rate 5.8 times higher than that of pure g-C3N4. The radical capturing experiments and ESR spectra indicated that the main active species are •O2−and h+. This work will provide possible routes for exploring catalysts with potential for photocatalytic applications.Keywords:photocatalyst;type-II heterojunction;carrier separation;photodegradation

Designing functional heterojunctions to enhance photocatalytic hydrogen evolution is still a key challenge in the field of efficient solar energy utilization. Copper phosphides become an ideal material to serve as the cocatalysts during photocatalytic hydrogen evolution by virtue of the lower prices. In this study, we synthesized graphitic carbon nitride (g-C 3 N 4 ) based catalysts loaded with copper phosphide (Cu 3 P, Cu 97 P 3 ), which exhibit superior performance in photocatalytic H 2 evolution. Ultraviolet (UV)-visible spectroscopy illustrated that the absorption of light strengthened after the loading of copper phosphide, and the time-resolved transient photoluminescence (PL) spectra showed that the separation and transfer of the photoexcited carriers greatly improved. Moreover, both copper phosphide/g-C 3 N 4 photocatalysts exhibited a relatively high H 2 evolution rate: Cu 3 P/g-C 3 N 4 (maximum 343 μmol h −1 g −1 ), Cu 97 P 3 /g-C 3 N 4 (162.9 μmol h −1 g −1 ) while copper phosphide themself exhibit no photocatalytic activity . Thus, the copper phosphides (Cu 3 P, Cu 97 P 3 ) work as a cocatalyst during photocatalytic H 2 evolution. The cycling experiments illustrated that both copper phosphide/g-C 3 N 4 photocatalysts perform excellent stability in the photocatalytic H 2 evolution. It is worth noting that while the NaH 2 PO 2 was heated in the tube furnace for phosphorization to obtain Cu 3 P, the excessive PH 3 could pass through the solution of CuSO 4 to obtain Cu 97 P 3 at the same time, which significantly improved the utilization of PH 3 and reduced the risk of toxicity. This work could provide new strategies to design photocatalysts decorated with copper phosphide for highly efficient visible-light-driven hydrogen evolution.
