Visible-light responsive AgInS 2 (AIS) nanoparticles modified with either pristine multi-walled carbon nanotubes ( p -MWCNTs) or mixed-acid (H 2 SO 4 and HNO 3 ) oxidized multi-walled carbon nanotubes ( o -MWCNTs) were synthesized using a low-temperature liquid phase method. The resulting nanocomposites are denoted as p -MWCNTs/AIS or o -MWCNTs/AIS. The structure, morphology, and optical properties of the samples were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL), and ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV–Vis DRS). The photocatalytic activity of p / o -MWCNTs/AIS towards the degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) was investigated, and the optimal proportion of p/o -MWCNTs introduced on AIS was determined. A possible degradation mechanism of RhB over p / o -MWCNTs/AIS was proposed. The results demonstrated that p / o -MWCNTs were successfully incorporated into AIS, and the addition of an appropriate amount of p / o -MWCNTs improved the visible-light photocatalytic activity of AIS. Among the samples, 2 % o -MWCNTs/AIS exhibited the highest visible-light catalytic activity , achieving a degradation efficiency of 95 % within 40 min. The·⋅O 2 − species were identified as the main active species during the photocatalytic degradation process . The introduction of o -MWCNTs not only facilitated the separation of photogenerated electron-hole pairs (e − /h + ) in AIS but also enhanced the visible-light absorption of AIS, leading to a significant improvement in its photocatalytic performance. Furthermore, the incorporation of o -MWCNTs greatly enhanced the cycling stability of AIS for reuse.

Water-soluble AgInS 2 quantum dots (AIS QDs) stabilized by thioglycollic acid (TGA) were prepared through hot-injection method. Based on the decreasing effect of tetracycline (TC) on the photocurrent of as-prepared AIS QDs, a highly sensitive photoelectrochemical (PEC) method for TC detection was developed. The standard curve was established between relative decrease value of photocurrent (Δ I / I 0 ) and the logarithm of TC concentration. The linear range of TC concentration was 1.3 × 10 −9 - 1.0 × 10 −4 mol·L −1 , r = 0.9998, and the detection limit (LOD) (3 S/N) was 6.0 × 10 −10 mol·L −1 ( n = 5). The average addition standard recovery of TC in the water of Erhai Lake was 99.55%- 103.25%. The method proposed in this work had a wide detection range (spanning almost 5 orders of magnitude), a low detection limit, a high accuracy, a low cost and easy operability, which could be applied to detect TC residues in water environments. A possible mechanism involving ·O 2 - acts as a strong oxidant, participating in the redox processes of TC, thus decreasing the photocurrent of AIS QDs was proposed.
Flexible luminescent materials, with the advantages of foldability and crack resistance, have attracted extensive interest owing to their broad application in collapsible optoelectronic devices. In this work, highly luminescent water-soluble green and red AgInS2/ZnS core/shell quantum dots (QDs) are synthesized in an electric pressure cooker. Luminescent and flexible films are fabricated by combining QDs with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), and the green and red QD/PVA films show a high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of about 55% and 64% upon 460 nm excitation, respectively. Finally, the green and red QD/PVA films are successfully applied on top of a conventional blue InGaN chip for remote-type warm-white LEDs. As-fabricated warm-white LEDs exhibit a higher color rendering index (CRI) of about 90.2 and a correlated color temperature (CCT) of 3698 K.
