Sensitive detections of nitrite (NO 2 - ), hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ), bromate (BrO 3 - ) and trichloroacetic acid (TCA) have very important significance in different fields. Herein, Pt-doped FeP-C hollow nanorod was fabricated by a controllable etching and in-situ carbonating procedure. Then, a modified electrode (Nafion/Hb/Pt-FeP-C/CILE) was constructed by dropping Pt-FeP-C, hemoglobin (Hb) and Nafion membrane on carbon ionic liquid electrode (CILE). Benefitting from the synergistic effects of Pt NPs and FeP-C, Pt-FeP-C provides a favorable biocompatible microenvironment for Hb attachment with enhanced catalytic performance. Electroanalysis of NO 2 - , H 2 O 2 , BrO 3 - and TCA were realized in the detection range from 0.2 to 7.0 mmol·L -1 , 0.3 to 7.0 mmol L -1 , 0.76 to 7.0 mmol·L -1 , 5.0 to 900.0 mmol L -1 , and the detection limits were 0.07 mmol L -1 , 0.1 mmol L -1 , 0.25 mmol L -1 and 1.67 mmol L -1 , respectively. The real samples were further analyzed with satisfactory results.

Realizing high-precise and adjustable regulation of engineering nanozyme is important in nanotechnology. Here, Ag@Pt nanozymes with excellent peroxidase-like and antibacterial effects are designed and synthesized by nucleic acid and metal ions coordination-driven one-step rapid self-assembly. The adjustable NA-Ag@Pt nanozyme is synthesized within 4 min using single-stranded nucleic acid as templates, and peroxidase-like enhancing FNA-Ag@Pt nanozyme is received by regulating functional nucleic acids (FNA) based on NA-Ag@Pt nanozyme. Both Ag@Pt nanozymes that are developed not only has simple and general synthesis approaches, but also can produce artificial precise adjustment and possess dual-functional. Moreover, when lead ion-specific aptamers as FNA are introduced to NA-Ag@Pt nanozyme, the Pb 2+ aptasensor is successfully constructed by increasing electron conversion efficiency and improving the specificity of nanozyme. In addition, both nanozyme has good antibacterial properties, with ~100% and ~85% antibacterial efficiency against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus , respectively. This work provides a synthesis method of novelty dual-functional Ag@Pt nanozymes and successful application in metal ions detection and antibacterial agents.

Developing efficient and highly selective photocatalytic CO 2 reduction catalysts remains one of the most significant challenges in achieving carbon neutrality . Herein, the efficient conversion of CO 2 to CH 4 with selectivity close to 100% was achieved by loading uniformly dispersed Pt nanoparticles on the surface of Sr 2 Nb 2 O 7 nanosheets ; the optimal CH 4 yield was as high as 15.65 μmol/g/h. Various characterizations demonstrate that Pt nanoparticles have a significant photothermal effect that can increase the catalyst surface temperature, and improve the performance and electron transport rate of the catalyst. Additionally, Pt nanoparticles and Sr 2 Nb 2 O 7 nanosheets form heterojunctions , which facilitate the separation of photogenerated carriers and aggregation of photogenerated electrons on the Pt nanoparticles. Pt nanoparticles become new reactive sites that have a strong adsorption impact on the key intermediate ∗CO and reduce the reaction energy barrier of ∗CHO generation. The results revealed that the synergy between electron accumulation, strong adsorption of ∗CO, and reduction of the reaction potential of ∗CHO are the reasons for the efficient and selective conversion of CO 2 to CH 4 . This work provides novel insights into the role of metal-based cocatalysts in selective CO 2 photoconversion and new ideas for designing efficient CO 2 conversion systems.

High stability and efficiency of electrocatalysts are crucial for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) toward water splitting in an alkaline media. Herein, a novel nano-Pt/Nb-doped Co(OH) 2 (Pt/Nb Co(OH) 2 ) nanosheet is designed and synthesized using water-bath treatment and solvothermal reduction approaches. With nano-Pt uniformly anchored onto Nb Co(OH) 2 nanosheet, the synthesized Pt/Nb Co(OH) 2 shows outstanding electrocatalytic performances for alkaline HER, achieving a high stability for at least 33 h, a high mass activity of 0.65 mA µg −1 Pt, and a good catalytic activity with a low overpotential of 112 mV at 10 mA cm −2 . Both experimental and theoretical results prove that Nb-doping significantly optimizes the hydrogen adsorption free energy to accelerate the Heyrovsky step for HER, and boosts the adsorption of H 2 O, which further enhances the water activation. This study provides a new design methodology for the Nb-doped electrocatalysts in an alkaline HER field by facile and green way.

The catalytic oxidation of VOCs is widely acknowledged as the most available technology to reduce air pollution. Among the catalysts for VOCs, 1 wt%-Pt/TiO2catalysts using metal as a doping element have shown amazing potential in many fields. However, achieving high catalytic performance at relatively low temperatures based on the activation of molecules is still a formidable challenge owing to the catalytic activity being highly dependent on temperature. Here, the role of the rare earth metal Ce in the catalytic oxidation of ethane was studied by preparing Pt/CexTi1−xO2(x = 0, 0.002, 0.005, 0.01, 0.02, and 0.05) catalysts. When the Ce/(Ce+Ti) molar ratio was 0.01, Pt/Ce0.01Ti0.99O2achieved 90% ethane conversion at 436 °C. This reaction temperature is 15% lower than that for Pt/TiO2. The characterization results show that the doping of Ce caused lattice expansion of TiO2and its distortion brought about by oxygen vacancies. Additionally, the appropriate amount of Ce-doping can alter the interaction between the active component Pt and the carrier TiO2, thereby improving the activity and concentration of the active surface lattice oxygen species of the catalyst. These results provide a foundation for the design of the catalytic oxidation of VOCs under mild operating conditions.Keywords:VOCs;Pt-based catalyst;catalyst carrier;catalysis;oxidation;Ce-doping

The supports are of vital importance for supported catalysts. In this work, an excellent anode catalyst support for methanol oxidation reaction is prepared by using polyaniline (PANI) surface modified carbon black (CB), and Pt catalysts are supported on the surface of carbon black modified by polyaniline (Pt/PANI-CB). The characterizations of structure and morphology show that Pt nanoparticles with an average diameter of 2.89 nm are uniformly dispersed on the surface of carbon black modified by polyaniline. Compared with Pt supported on the surface of carbon black (Pt/CB) and commercial Pt/C catalysts, the optimal Pt/PANI-CB has higher electrocatalytic activity, and better stability for methanol oxidation reaction. In 0.5 M H 2 SO 4 solution containing 0.5 M CH 3 OH, the area specific activity of Pt/PANI-CB is 1.81 mA cm −2 Pt, and those of Pt/CB and Pt/C is 1.29 and 0.68 mA cm −2 Pt. After 1000 cycles of cyclic voltammetry , the area specific activity retention of Pt/PANI-CB is 74.0%, while those of Pt/CB and Pt/C are 60.4% and 38.2%. Obviously, as a catalyst support, carbon black modified by polyaniline has broad application prospects.

Photodriven nonoxidative coupling of CH4 (NOCM) is a potential alternative approach to clean hydrogen and hydrocarbon production. Herein, a Mott–Schottky photocatalyst for NOCM is fabricated by loading Pt nanoclusters on a Ga-doped hierarchical porous TiO2–SiO2 microarray with an anatase framework, which exhibits a CH4 conversion rate of 3.48 μmol g–1 h–1 with 90% selectivity toward C2H6. This activity is 13 times higher than those from microarrays without Pt and Ga. Moreover, a continuous H2 production (36 μmol g–1) with a high CH4 conversion rate of ∼28% can be achieved through a longtime irradiation (32 h). The influence of Ga on the chemical state of a surface oxygen vacancy (Vo) and deposited Pt is investigated through a combination of experimental analysis and first-principles density functional theory calculations. Ga substitutes for the five-coordinated Ti next to Vo, which tends to stabilize the single-electron trapped Vo and reduce the electron transfer from Vo to the adsorbed Pt, resulting in the formation of a higher amount of cationic Pt. The cationic Pt and electron-enriched metallic Pt form a cationic–anionic active pair, which is more efficient for the dissociation of C–H bonds. However, the presence of too much cationic Pt results in more C2+ product with a decrease in the CH4 conversion rate due to the reduced charge-carrier separation efficiency. This study provides deep insight into the effect of the doping/loading strategy on the photocatalytic NOCM reaction and is expected to shed substantial light on future structural design and modulation.

Noble metal catalyst has an outstanding catalytic activity on the hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) process, but its high cost limits large-scale application. Herein, we put forward a novel photochemical method to prepare the highly dispersed Pt/TiO 2 catalyst with a low metal loading. And it presented an efficient performance on the HDO of phenolic compounds and real bio-oil. Guaiacol could be converted into cyclohexane with 95.1% selectivity at 280 °C under 1 MPa H 2 atmosphere. Characterization results revealed that the high Pt dispersion was the critical factor for the high catalytic activity. And the photochemical method preferred to achieve high metal dispersion due to the room temperature condition. Other typical phenolic monomers and dimers were able to transform into hydrocarbons with most yield above 80%, wherein not only the deoxygenation step, but also the cleavage of ether bonds can be realized in one pot. This catalytic system was also effective on the upgrade of bio-oil derived from the pyrolysis of cotton straw. Hydrocarbon content increased to 33.80% from 11.33%. Alkylphenols content increased to 51.38% from 27.86%. These two products can be used as value-added fuels and chemicals, respectively. Guaiacols and syringols were completely converted into alkylphenols and hydrocarbon. The amount of other oxygenated compounds also decreased significantly. This simple and active catalytic system is potential to apply widely for the upgrade of raw bio-oil.

Developing mechanistic insights into the promotional effect of alkaline earth metal oxides in the hydrogenolysis of lignin-derived dibenzofuran (DBF) is key to rational design of high-performance catalysts for bio-oils upgrading. The promotional effect of MgO on Pt/SiO 2 catalyst for the hydrogenolysis of DBF has been investigated. Small amounts of MgO enriches the electron density of Pt surface and the Lewis acidity of support, leading to significant improvement of the reactivity with an excellent turnover frequency (TOF) of 1182 h −1 on Pt/3MgO/SiO 2 compared with 789 h −1 on Pt/SiO 2 . The high selectivity for biphenyl depends on the combination of the acid-base properties. With the same moles of alkaline earth dopants, the activity of dopants decreased in the order: Mg > Ca > Sr > Ba, resulting from the decrease in Pt dispersion, and, decreasing linearly with decreasing electronegativity. Additionally, in 240 h stability test, Pt/3MgO/SiO 2 catalyst showed considerably stable activity and selectivity.

Charge separation and oxidation kinetics are both critical for solar energy conversion in photoelectrochemical cell, but it is difficult to enhance simultaneously by a semiconductor. Here, the hydrogenated TiO 2 loaded by Pt nanoparticles with improved charge separation and oxidation kinetics photoanodes are developed, characterized, and tested. The TiO 2 nanotubes are prepared by hydrothermal of Ti foils and used as substrates for hydrogenation and loaded by Pt through photodeposition. Ascribe to the synergetic of hydroxylated surface and Pt nanoparticles, the photocurrent of Pt/H:TiO 2 is enhanced from 0.052 (TiO 2 ) to 0.098 mA/cm 2 at 1.0 V versus RHE for water oxidation and almost increased 1.3 times for sulfite oxidation. Further, the electrons’ transport time has been reduced 20%, and the incident photon-to-electron conversion efficiency for Pt/H:TiO 2 has been increased by 2.5-fold for water oxidation under 350 nm illumination at 1.0 V versus RHE. The charge separation and oxidation kinetics efficiencies of Pt/H:TiO 2 are improved to 62.2 and 39.9% compared with pristine TiO 2 (54.2 and 27.6%) at 1.0 V versus RHE. The origin of the enhanced photoelectrochemical performances for Pt/H:TiO 2 is due to the hydroxylated surface and the absorption of plasmon resonance by Pt nanoparticles.

This study presents an efficient, economic, and simple preparation strategy for Pt/TiO 2 monolith catalysts. Nano-Pt/TiO 2 dispersion liquid with good activity and stability was synthesized by hydrolysis and chemical reduction method. Various Pt/TiO 2 monolithic catalysts were prepared by spraying the dispersion liquid on different substrates. Results of transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, N 2 adsorption-desorption, H 2 temperature-programmed and CO oxidation showed that the Pt/TiO 2 nanoparticles with good mesoporous structure and redox properties were highly dispersed on the substrate. The as-prepared 0.5 Pt/TiO 2 cordierite monolithic catalyst with 0.1 wt‰ Pt content exhibited excellent catalytic combustion activity ( T 90 of toluene combustion was 212 ℃), stability (no deactivation was observed during a 120 h test) and firmness (mass loss was 0.11% after 1 h ultrasonic vibration) under experimental conditions. Compared with state-of-the-art methods, this method is more suitable for large-scale production of waste-gas-treated monolith catalysts. And this method meets the concept of energy saving and emission reduction because of its simplicity, high efficiency, environmental friendliness, and high utilization of active components.

Thermoregulated phase-separable chiral Pt nanoparticle catalyst exhibited excellent ee (>99%) in the enantioselective hydrogenation of activated ketones for preparing chiral α-hydroxy acetals and chiral 1,2-diols. More importantly, the chiral catalyst could be easily separated by phase separation and directly reused in the next cycle without any loss in catalytic activity and enantioselectivity, even in the gram-scale reaction. The leaching of Pt was under the detection limit of the instrument.
