A novel adsorbent, aminated Fe 3 O 4 (Fe 3 O 4 -NH 2 )/graphite oxide (GO)/carboxylated cross-linked β-cyclodextrin polymer (CDP-COOH) composite, was fabricated for influential removal of various types of dyes from waters. The morphology and structure of resulting Fe 3 O 4 -NH 2 /GO/CDP-COOH composite was studied by SEM, two-dimensional EDS map, FTIR, WAXD, XPS, TGA, and zeta potential meter, and its saturation magnetization was determined to be 46.3 emu/g by VSM. The maximal sorption capacities of Fe 3 O 4 -NH 2 /GO/CDP-COOH composite for methylene blue (MB, as a model of cationic dyes) and Congo red (CR, as a model of anionic dyes) at 303 K were 201.75 mg/g and 2211.05 mg/g, respectively, which can be mainly assigned to multiple adsorptive forces like electrostatic attractions, hydrogen bonds, host–guest self-assembly interactions, π-π electron cloud interactions, and Lewis acid-base interactions. The dye sorption by the Fe 3 O 4 -NH 2 /GO/CDP-COOH composite had a spontaneous nature according to the sorption thermodynamic calculation and can be well explained by pseudo-second-order model. The Langmuir and Freundlich models could explain the sorption isotherms of Fe 3 O 4 -NH 2 /GO/CDP-COOH composite for MB and GO, respectively. The Fe 3 O 4 -NH 2 /GO/CDP-COOH composite possessed many other advantages including the good sorption capability for different heavy metal ions (like Pb 2+ , Ni 2+ , and Cu 2+ ) and organic compounds (like dichlorophenol and propranolol) as well as the good recyclability and reusability.

In order to solve the problem of glucose detection in medical development and meet the urgent demand for new energy storage devices, this paper proposes a new material suitable for glucose sensing and capacitive properties. The sensor was fabricated by depositing Co 3 O 4 nanoparticles onto nickel foam with integrated r-GO via the hydrothermal method, followed by the synthesis of CuO nanoparticles using electroplating. The detection range of the sensor is 0.3–11.3 mM. The sensor's sensitivity is 1000.3 μA mM −1 cm −2 , indicating its responsiveness to changes in analyte concentration. In electrochemical test systems, Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) usually represents the relative intensity of the effective current signal and the background noise, reflecting the accuracy and reliability of the measurement. When the SNR is three, the minimum detection limit is 0.431 μM, highlighting its ability to reliably detect analytes at low concentrations amidst background noise. According to electrochemical workstation tests, the sensor demonstrates robust stability. Furthermore, the electrode material proves suitable for asymmetric supercapacitor devices, when the current density is 2 Ag −1 , the specific capacitance is 660.5 Fg −1 . At the same time, we also explore the cyclic stability of the device, which can retain 92.3 % of its initial specific capacitance after 5000 cycles, showing its remarkable long-term stability. In addition, the prepared nanocomposites can also light the red LED light. The results show that the synthesized CuO/Co 3 O 4 /r-GO/NF electrode can be used for electrochemical glucose sensing and supercapacitors, and plays an important role as a multi-functional material in the fields of medical, food, electronics, transportation and energy, providing key technical support for a variety of applications.

Reactive oxygen species (ROS) as highly oxidative substances play significant roles in environmental matter cycling. Despite their high potential in environmental regulation, effective artificial ROS generation techniques are still in the primary stage. In this study, we propose an effective piezo-photocatalytic film for ROS generation in water flow and under light irradiation. The high ROS generation capability stem from the special suprathin and highly porous structure obtained using our developed spray-drying technique to prepare the composite film. During the spray process, optimized component of graphene oxide, TiO 2 nanoparticles, and Poly(vinylidene fluoride- co -hexafluoropropylene) (PVDF-HFP) polymer chains self-organized to effective piezoelectrically and photocatalytically active assemblies, and highly porous structures are formed during the drying process. Especial mechanical sensibility to deform is realized in response to external force as weak as 0.2 N. The enhanced piezoelectricity of the PVDF-HFP microdomain, the narrowed band gap, and the electron transfer across the interfacial heterojunction between graphene and TiO 2 all contribute to the especially high piezo-photocatalytic capabilities. Water flow can effectively trigger the piezoelectric field generation in the film, which remarkably boost extractable charge carriers generated upon light irradiation. 88.05 % degradation efficiency of Rhodamine B during 15 min and 95.2 % degradation efficiency of ciprofloxacin in 120 min are realized, along with bacteriostat capabilities. The application potential of the composite are demonstrated in dest-top laundry process and the treated stained water can be used to cultivate plant. We expect the strategy to develop into a novel form of cleaning technique.

Mangoes are usually packed in cardboard boxes during transportation and storage, and manual unpacking of the boxes to determine their ripeness is an inefficient method of testing. Fortunately, changes in carbon dioxide (CO₂) concentration can serve as an indicator of ripeness and potential spoilage. To address this, a wireless powered flexible CO₂ gas monitoring device (WFCMD) utilizing polyethyleneimine (PEI)-functionalized GO/MXene composites was developed. This device demonstrates high sensitivity and excellent electrical conductivity, making it suitable for real-time monitoring in practical applications. The response of the composites to CO₂ was evaluated with varying PEI loadings, showing enhanced sensing performance due to the efficient CO₂ adsorption by PEI and the high conductivity of GO/MXene. The complete gas monitoring system was integrated using an ESP-12F microcontroller unit (MCU), allowing for seamless attachment to the surface of mangoes for continuous, nondestructive monitoring. The device's feasibility was confirmed through extended monitoring of packaged mangoes, demonstrating its potential for application in fruit gas detection and quality control.

Luteolin is a potent anti-colorectal cancer chemical. However, its effectiveness is hindered by its poor solubility in water and fat, and it is easy to degrade by gastrointestinal enzymes. In this study, a nano-composite carrier, NH 2 -MIL-101(Fe)@GO (MG), based on aminated MIL-101(Fe) and graphene oxide (GO) was developed and evaluated. This carrier co-delivered luteolin and matrine, while marine was used to balance the pH for the nano-preparation. The loading capacities for luteolin and matrine were approximately 9.8% and 14.1%, respectively. Luteolin's release at pH = 5 was significantly higher than at pH = 7.4, indicating it had an acidic pH response release characteristic. Compared to MOF and GO alone, MG and NH2-MIL-101(Fe)@GO@Drugs (MGD) enhanced anti-cancer activity by inhibiting tumor cell migration, increasing ROS generation, and upregulating the expression of Caspase-3 and Caspase-9. In conclusion, this study contributes new ideas and methods to the treatment strategy of multi-component anti-colorectal cancer therapy. It also advances drug delivery systems and supports the development of more effective and targeted treatment approaches for colorectal cancer.

Biofilms, which are dense bacterial aggregates that form protective adhesion layers on surfaces, are associated with chronic wound infections, severe acne, and various other bacterial infection sites. However, the increasing antibiotic resistance of bacteria within biofilms and the limited penetration capacity of conventional treatments pose significant therapeutic challenges. To address these issues, we engineered a freeze-drying microneedle system integrating indocyanine green-loaded ZIF-8/hyaluronic acid nanoparticles (ICG@ZIF@HA NPs) and graphene oxide (GO) for dual-modal phototherapy. Notably, the microneedles demonstrated robust mechanical strength, enabling penetration through 140 μm-thick Staphylococcus aureus biofilms. Subsequently, the disruption of the biofilm’s structural integrity facilitated the release of ICG@ZIF@HA NPs from the microneedle tips into deeper biofilm regions. Moreover, the nanoparticles exhibited pH-triggered release kinetics, with over 80% of ICG released at pH 5.5 within 2 h, and generated reactive oxygen species (ROS) under 808 nm near-infrared (NIR) irradiation. Meanwhile, the GO in the backing provided localized hyperthermia, reaching 55 °C within 500 s under NIR exposure. By combining ROS generation and bacterial membrane disruption, the microneedle system achieved a synergistic antimicrobial effect, effectively inhibiting bacterial growth and eliminating biofilms under NIR irradiation. Thus, this study establishes a robust foundation for integrating antimicrobial therapy with microneedle technology, offering a safer and more efficient strategy for biofilm eradication.

Addressing uranium-contaminated wastewater is crucial for environmental protection and public health. This study introduces an innovative and efficient capacitive deionization (CDI) method for extracting U(VI) from wastewater, utilizing a phytic acid (PA)-modified MnO 2 @GO aerogel as the electrode material. The incorporation of PA effectively disrupts the dense crystalline structure of MnO 2 , transforming it into an amorphous and porous framework. This structural change significantly enhances the specific surface area by approximately 450 % and creates more active sites for ion adsorption. Electrochemical characterization reveals that the PA modification improves capacitive performance by enhancing capacitance and reducing charge transfer resistance. Consequently, the PA-MnO 2 @GO aerogel exhibits excellent electrochemical properties and enhanced capacitive deionization performance, enabling rapid U(VI) removal under low voltage in a CDI cell configuration. This CDI cell achieves a maximum U(VI) removal capacity of 636 mg g −1 . Furthermore, the material demonstrates exceptional cycling stability and selectivity, maintaining approximately 83 % of its initial removal capacity after 20 cycles and exhibiting high adsorption efficiency even in the presence of interfering ions. This research presents an economical and effective novel approach for uranium extraction from radioactive wastewater using CDI technology, significantly contributing to the safe utilization of nuclear energy and environmental conservation.

Graphene oxide (GO) has emerged as a promising reinforcement material for metal matrix composites due to its exceptional properties. However, achieving homogeneous graphene dispersion within the metal matrix remains a critical challenge that significantly impacts the performance of the composite. In this study, we developed an innovative dual-dispersion medium approach to fabricate Cu@Ag/GO composites. The Cu@Ag particles and GO sheets were dispersed in ethanol in deionized water separately, followed by ultrasonic-assisted mixing and hot-press sintering to create a three-dimensional GO network structure. Experimental results indicate that the dual-dispersion method is conducive to the uniform attachment of GO to the silver-coated copper surface through hydrogen bonding, thereby reducing structural defects and effective effectively inhibiting Ag dewetting. The optimized composite containing 0.2 wt% GO exhibited significantly enhanced sintering properties compared to Cu@Ag: a shear strength of 94.3 MPa (50.2% improvement), thermal conductivity of 240.0 W/(m·K) (60.5% improvement), and reduced electrical resistivity of 4.7 μΩ·cm (38.8% decrease). This facile fabrication method of Cu@Ag/GO composites offers significant potential for developing high-performance die-attach and interconnect materials with superior mechanical strength, thermal transfer, and electrical conductivity for advanced power module applications.

Three-dimensional (3D) nanostructures which have the ability to expand carrier diffusion channels and provide plenty of electrocatalytic active sites are extensively regarded as highly effective strategies for enhancing the sensing performance of electrocatalysts. Herein, a highly sensitive Cu 2 O/PANI-GO electrode was constructed simply via in-situ electrodeposition of the graphene oxide (GO) doped polyaniline PANI (PANI-GO) 3D porous network structure on a flexible stainless-steel (SS) foil substrate. Subsequently, Cu₂O nanoparticles were electrodeposited onto the unique 3D network architecture which provides abundant active sites for Cu 2 O deposition. Meanwhile, the introduction of conductive PANI and GO improves the conductivity of the sensing catalysts and enhances the electrocatalytic performance of Cu 2 O. The electrochemical behavior of glucose and ascorbic acid (AA) was investigated through cyclic voltammetry (CV). CV results have demonstrated that the formation of a 3D porous network structure provides a substantial number of electronic pathways, which facilitate direct electron transfer between biomolecules and electrocatalysts, thereby promoting the electrocatalytic oxidation of glucose and ascorbic acid (AA). According to chronoamperometry, such a 3D porous network structure electrode exhibits outstanding sensing performance for glucose and AA detection, including lower detection limit and higher sensitivity over a wide detection range compared with the reported similar Cu 2 O-based electrodes. The excellent anti-interference, stability, reproducibility, and bending stability are also obtained. Furthermore, the glucose concentration in diluted fetal bovine serum and AA concentration in diluted vitamin c beverages were quantitatively measured, and the results were satisfactory, indicating that the proposed flexible electrochemical sensing electrode provides considerable prospects for practical human health and food safety monitoring.

High-affinity LP-PLA₂ mAb and AuPdNPs@GO-MWCNTs are fabricated to immobilize antibodies and amplify electrochemical signals. • A label-free competitive DPV immunosensor for LP-PLA 2 achieves a low LOD of 0.30 ng/mL with a linear range covering clinical concentrations. • The immunosensor exhibits favorable repeatability, stability and selectivity, and its clinical test data well matches standard chemiluminescence results. • The rapid sensitive platform distinguishes LP-PLA₂ positive/negative samples and has promising prospects for early atherosclerosis diagnosis. Lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) has emerged as a novel and critical clinical biomarker for vascular inflammation of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease risk assessment. However, current detection methods often face challenges regarding sensitivity, cost-effectiveness or complex operational procedures. Herein, a highly sensitive and selective electrochemical immunosensor was developed for the quantitative determination of Lp-PLA2. In this study, the sensing platform leverages the synergistic effect of AuPdNPs@GO-MWCNTs composites and high-affinity monoclonal antibodies. Firstly, the AuPdNPs@GO-MWCNTs was synthesized and characterized via SEM, EDS and XRD, which provided abundant electroactive sites and accelerated interfacial electron transfer. Subsequently, the maturely prepared Lp-PLA2 mAbs were immobilized onto the modified electrode surface to ensure specific molecular recognition. Under optimized experimental conditions, the proposed immunosensor exhibited a wide linear range from 1 to 2000 ng/mL, with a remarkably low limit of detection (LOD) of 0.3 ng/mL (S/N = 3). Furthermore, the sensor demonstrated excellent reproducibility, long-term stability, high selectivity against common interfering substances in serum and reliable detection recovery rate (97.21%–100.59%). As a result, the practical applicability of the biosensor was validated using real clinical samples, showing a high correlation with standard clinical assays. This study presents a robust platform for the rapid detection of Lp-PLA2 and demonstrates the promising potential of AuPdNPs@GO-MWCNTs in enhancing the performance of electrochemical diagnostic systems. A high efficient photocatalyst (TiO 2 /WO 3 /GO) was developed with tungsten trioxide doping and graphene oxide hybridization. XRD and SEM indicate the formation of crystalline anatase/rutile TiO 2 and hexagonal and cubic WO 3 . UV–vis spectroscopy shows the excellent visible-light-responsive performance. The photocatalyst exhibits excellent photocatalytic performance for bisphenol A degradation under visible light and sunlight irradiations. Transformation by-products were identified and main degradation pathways were proposed. The photocatalytic mechanism is also proposed on the basis of the fact that charge separation is facilitated owing to photo-generated electrons transfer from TiO 2 to WO 3 to GO and photogenerated holes transfer from WO 3 to TiO 2 .

High-performance graphene oxide composite nitrogen-doped carbon (GO@NCs) materials were prepared at different temperatures (600, 700 and 800 °C) by a one-step carbonization method. The electrosorption performances of GO@NCs for U(VI) were investigated. The results showed that the specific surface area of GO@NC-700 was 266.3 m 2 ·g −1 . The doped nitrogen mainly existed in the form of pyridine (N-6), pyridine (N-5), and quaternary-N (N-Q). The incorporation of nitrogen atoms and graphene oxide effectively improved the electrochemical performance of the material, and the maximum specific capacitance of GO@NC-700 was 289.8 F·g −1 . At the same time, nitrogen-containing functional groups improved the selectivity to uranium and weakened the repulsive effect of coexisting ions. Therefore, the removal efficiency of GO@NC-700 electrode structure can reach 98.63 % at −1.2 V (vs. SCE, pH = 5). The maximum adsorption capacity of GO@NC-700 was 879.2 mg·g −1 , which was 4 times higher than that of simple adsorption (202.3 mg·g −1 ). The material had good cycle performance, and the capacity loss was less than 10 % after 5 cycles. The above results show that the GO@NC-700 electrode had special potential applications in removing uranium from aqueous solutions, which provides a new and effective method for the treatment of uranium-containing wastewater. Environmental implication Graphene oxide composite nitrogen-doped carbon (GO@NCs) can effectively separate uranium (VI) from the solution and reduce its threat to the environment and human body.
