MAPbBr 3 perovskite crystals have attracted significant attention due to their outstanding performance in various optoelectronic applications . However, further understanding for the growth mechanism of MAPbBr 3 and its temperature-dependent variations of MA + should be addressed. In this study, MAPbBr 3 single crystal was grown using the inverse temperature crystallization method with a crystallization temperature of approximately 60 °C. Optical microscopy and atomic force microscopy were used to illustrate the surface structure of the resultant MAPbBr 3 . The results show that there is a layered growth mode with concave grooves and 2D nuclei on its surface. In situ variable-temperature Raman measurements were performed on the MAPbBr 3 crystal at a temperature range of 80–300 K. The narrowing of Raman bands unrelated to the phase transition of the crystal was observed around 100 K. By combining the variable-temperature X-ray diffractometry results from 80 to 105 K, the reason can be attributed to the lattice distortion and vibration within the crystals.

Sensitive and selective determination of azlocillin (Azl) is of great significance to food safety and human health as it is recognized as the most prevalently utilized β-lactam antibiotics. Herein, we develop a highly sensitive fluorescence aptasensor selective, and sensitive, determination of Azl in food samples. Initially, the aptamer A-58 with the highest affinity(K d = 64.5 ± 7.2 nM)was obtained by means of truncation. Subsequently, a highly stable aqueous dispersed perovskite nanocrystal MAPbBr 3 @ZIF-8 was synthesized and used as a fluorescent marker in aptasensors. The aptasensor was constructed by using MAPbBr 3 @ZIF-8 as the fluorescence signal source, aptamers as the specific recognition molecules, and AuNPs as a quenching agent. This design integrates the excellent optical properties of perovskite, the fluorescence quenching ability of AuNPs and the specificity of aptamer, exhibiting great promising for trace analysis of Azl in food samples. Under the optimal experimental conditions, the linear detection range of the developed aptasensor method spans from 0.1 to 100 ng/mL, with a detection limit of 0.025 ng/mL. The developed MAPbBr 3 @ZIF-8 based aptasensor has been effectively utilized for the quantification of azlocillin in milk, demonstrating significant potential in the realm of antibiotic detection.

Defect density is one of the most significant characteristics of perovskite single crystals (PSCs) that determines their optical and electrical properties, but few strategies are available to tune this property. Here, we demonstrate that voltage regulation is an efficient method to tune defect density, as well as the optical and electrical properties of PSCs. A three-step carrier transport model of MAPbBr 3 PSCs is proposed to explore the defect regulation mechanism and carrier transport dynamics via an applied bias. Dynamic and steady-state photoluminescence measurements subsequently show that the surface defect density, average carrier lifetime, and photoluminescence intensity can be efficiently tuned by the applied bias. In particular, when the regulation voltage is 20 V (electrical poling intensity is 0.167 V μm −1 ), the surface defect density of MAPbBr 3 PSCs is reduced by 24.27%, the carrier lifetime is prolonged by 32.04%, and the PL intensity is increased by 112.96%. Furthermore, a voltage-regulated MAPbBr 3 PSC memristor device shows an adjustable multiresistance, weak ion migration effect and greatly enhanced device stability. Voltage regulation is a promising engineering technique for developing advanced perovskite optoelectronic devices.

Serious nonradiative recombination and decomposition of perovskite film exist in MAPbBr3-based perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLED) due to the residue of lead atoms from an incomplete reaction, thereby limiting the efficiency of PeLEDs. Excessive Methylammonium bromide (MABr) added into the precursor of methylammonium lead bromide (MAPbBr3) can solve this problem. However, how the excessive MABr self-passivates perovskite films improves the performance of PeLEDs requires further examination. The self-passivated perovskite film by overdoping MABr was investigated by varying stoichiometric ratios of perovskite precursors. It was found that, as the content of MABr increased, the interaction between free charge and longitudinal optical phonons was enhanced, thus reducing the exciton binding energy, resulting in emission broadening and blue shift of the PL spectra. With the molar ratio of PbBr2 and MABr of 1:1.315, the PeLED achieved a good trade-off between the brightness and the stability, thus demonstrating a maximum brightness of 9981 cd m − 2 and a lifetime of 14 min, with a maximum current efficiency of 6.59 cd A − 1.

The advancements in flexible display technology impose stringent demands on the optical properties and environmental stability of perovskite luminescent materials. Addressing the core challenges of poor environmental stability and optical performance degradation in methylammonium lead bromide (MAPbBr 3 ) quantum dots, this study proposes a dual-stability strategy combining “internal crystallization regulation” with “external physical protection.” A ZnO/MAPbBr 3 /PVDF composite film was prepared through synergistic modification with zinc oxide (ZnO) and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), with the optimal ZnO content identified as 40 μL. Under these conditions, the composite film exhibited a green light emission full width at half maximum (FWHM) as low as 19.88 nm and a photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of 76.06%, demonstrating high color purity. After heating at 100°C for 60 min, the PL intensity decayed by only 30%, and after 168 h of immersion in water, it retained 65% of its initial PL intensity, indicating significantly enhanced environmental tolerance. When this film served as the green conversion layer integrated with red CsPbI 3 quantum dot films and GaN blue LEDs to form a white light-emitting diode (WLED), the device achieved a color gamut coverage of 126% of the NTSC standard and 94% of the Rec. 2020 specification. Research indicates that ZnO enhances crystalline integrity by regulating MAPbBr 3 nucleation and growth, while PVDF forms a compact hydrophobic barrier. Their combined effect enhances both the film’s optical performance and environmental stability, enabling WLEDs with ultrawide color gamut that meet the requirements of high-performance flexible display and lighting applications.

Methylammonium lead bromide (MAPbBr 3 ) single crystal thin film shows great opportunities in high-performance optoelectronic devices due to its high absorption coefficient, high photoelectric conversion efficiency, and low trap-state density properties. In order to fabricate a highly sensitive self-powered photodetectors, herein, a MAPbBr 3 single crystal thin film/molybdenum disulfide (MoS 2 ) vertical p-n heterostructure based photodetector has been built by typical polymer film assisted dry transfer method and micromachining technique. Attributing to the built-in electric field and the shortened transmit distance for the photogenerated carriers in this heterostructure, the device shows excellent photovoltaic characteristics with a maximum output electrical power of 7 nW and power conversion efficiency of 8% at 0.34 V under 532 nm laser. Moreover, prominent photoelectric properties with responsivity of 368 mA W −1 and detectivity of 3.74 × 10 12 Jones for 532 nm laser without any bias have been achieved, which are ranking high among the organic–inorganic hybrid perovskites based self-power photodetectors. These results demonstrate that the MAPbBr 3 single crystal thin film/MoS 2 vertical heterostructure can pave a new way to develop high-performance photovoltaic devices.

Perovskite single-crystal films (SCFs) offer superior optoelectronic properties over polycrystalline counterparts but suffer from inefficient carrier extraction due to thickness exceeding carrier diffusion length. To overcome this limitation, we constructed a novel Type-II heterojunction by integrating MAPbBr 3 SCFs (<50 µm) with alloyed CdSeS quantum dots (QDs). The staggered band alignment creates a builtin electric field that drives efficient carrier separation, thus the heterojunction photodetector achieves an ultralow dark current of ~10 -11 A at 0 V bias and a high light on/off ratio exceeding 10 5 . Under 445 nm illumination (2.228 mW/cm 2 ) at 1 V bias, the device demonstrates a remarkable switching ratio of 184,313 and a specific detectivity (D * ) of 3.8×10 13 Jones. This work highlights the synergy between perovskite and Ⅱ-Ⅵ compound semiconductors in enabling self-driven, high-sensitivity photodetection through tailored Type-II heterojunction.

Two phase photocatalysts can be intergrown with each other, resulting in superior photocatalytic properties. Herein, methylamine lead bromide (MAPbBr3) wrapped/entrapped protonated graphitic carbon nitride (p-g-C3N4) intergrowth microcrystals were fabricated by mixing a pervoskite precursor with p-g-C3N4 colloidal sol. A highly stable isopropanol (IPA) solvent based photocatalytic system for dye degradation was demonstrated. The composite with an optimal p-g-C3N4 mass percentage of 3.3 wt% (denoted as MAPbBr3/p-g-C3N4-1.0 mg) exhibited the highest photocatalytic degradation of malachite green (99.8%) within 10 min under visible light, which was 5.3-fold and 16-fold greater than that exhibited by its constituents separately. The strong chemical interaction and fundamental photophysical processes in MAPbBr3/p-g-C3N4 were systematically evaluated by spectroscopic and electrochemical techniques, confirming the effective separation of photogenerated electron–hole pairs and faster interfacial charge transfer behavior. Furthermore, active superoxide radicals (O2˙−) played a vital role in the catalytic reaction, because of the significant photoinduced electron transfer rate (ket) in the inverted type-I core/shell MAPbBr3/p-g-C3N4 band configuration structure. In addition, MAPbBr3/p-g-C3N4 has good cycling stability for 10 cycles and versatility for other cationic (RhB) and anionic (MO) dye pollutants, indicating the great potential for solar energy conversion into chemical energy.

Ag 2 O-Ag/CH 3 NH 3 PbBr 3 (MAPbBr 3 ) heterojunction composites were synthesized using a strategy that combines one-step spin coating, electron beam evaporation, and laser irradiation. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analyses confirmed the formation of dense and uniform nanoparticles on the sample surface after laser irradiation, as well as the successful introduction of oxygen vacancies. These nanostructures and oxygen defects contribute to the emergence of a broad plasmonic resonance absorption peak and enhance the local electromagnetic field intensity, thereby promoting stronger nonlinear optical effects. Z -scan results show that the Ag 2 O-Ag/MAPbBr 3 heterojunction composites exhibit strong saturable absorption (SA), in contrast to monolayer Ag 2 O–Ag or MAPbBr 3 , due to efficient interfacial charge transfer that suppresses reverse saturable absorption (RSA) arising from excited-state absorption and multiphoton absorption. The nonlinear optical absorption was effectively tuned by laser irradiation with different pulse widths. The maximum third-order nonlinear absorption coefficient of the heterojunction was measured to be −7.96 × 10 −7 cm/W. In addition, the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) simulation results were in good agreement with the experimental data. These results indicate that the as-synthesized Ag 2 O-Ag/MAPbBr 3 heterojunction composites have promising potential for applications in nonlinear optical devices.

The hot carrier multi-junction solar cell (HCMJC) is an advanced-concept solar cell with a theoretical efficiency greater than 65%. It combines the advantages of hot carrier solar cells and multi-junction solar cells with higher power conversion efficiency (PCE). The thermalization coefficient (Qth) has been shown to slow down by an order of magnitude in low-dimensional structures, which will significantly improve PCE. However, there have been no studies calculating theQthof MAPbBr3quantum dots so far. In this work, theQthvalues of MAPbBr3quantum dots and after BABr addition were calculated based on power-dependent steady-state photoluminescence (PD-SSPL). Their peak positions in PD-SSPL increased from 2.37 to 2.71 eV after adding BABr. The fitting shows that, after adding BABr, theQthdecreased from 2.64 ± 0.29 mW·K−1·cm−2to 2.36 ± 0.25 mW·K−1·cm−2, indicating a lower relaxation rate. This is because BABr passivates surface defects, slowing down the carrier thermalization process. This work lays the foundation for the theoretical framework combining perovskite materials, which suggests that the appropriate passivation of BABr has the potential to further reduceQthand make MAPbBr3QDs with BABr modified more suitable as the top absorption layer of HCMJCs.

Metal halide perovskite materials exhibit remarkable optoelectronic properties due to their unique crystal and electronic structures. In perovskite polycrystalline films, the carrier transport is easily affected by grain boundaries where the defect density and stress are concentrated. Lacking grain boundaries, single crystals exhibit lower defect density, higher carrier mobility and longer carrier lifetime, thus benefiting longer carrier diffusion length. However, the large thickness of single crystals is not conducive to direct extraction of carriers out of photoelectric devices because the carrier diffusion length is within dozens of micrometers. Therefore, ultrathin single crystal films (SCFs) are demanded for photoelectric devices. In this paper, we put forward an improved space confined method, in which the nucleation and growth processes are controlled through altering the heating area. A series of MAPbBr3 SCFs with maximum size over 30 mm and controllable thickness (15–45 μm) are obtained. The growth kinetics of MAPbBr3 SCFs are analyzed in detail. Owing to the controllable growth kinetics, MAPbBr3 SCFs possess higher crystallinity, higher photo-induced carrier densities and longer carrier lifetimes than the corresponding bulk single crystals (BSCs). Therefore, MAPbBr3 SCFs exhibit better optoelectronic performance and device stability as planar photo-detectors, such as lower dark currents and higher photo-currents, higher R and EQE values and higher on/off ratios.

Perovskite nanocrystals (NCs), such as MAPbX 3 (MA + = methylammonium; X = Cl, Br, or I), have received attention owing to their excellent optoelectronic properties and ease of integrating with flexible substrates. Lanthanide ion doping is widely used as an effective strategy to enhance the optoelectronic performance of perovskite NCs. However, incorporating the lanthanide dopant and ensuring the emission stability of the perovskite NCs in high-performance optoelectronic devices remains a major challenge. Herein, the synthesis of Eu 2+ -doped MAPbBr 3 NCs within the channels of SBA-15 is presented to improve their stability. The doped MAPbBr 3 NC@SBA-15 composites exhibit significantly improved stability than that of undoped MAPbBr 3 NCs. The doped MAPbBr 3 NC@SBA-15 composites exhibit moderate PL quantum yields and excellent stability under ambient conditions and UV irradiation. In addition, the MAEu 0.3 Pb 0.7 Br 3 NC@SBA-15 composite applied in white-light-emitting diodes (WLEDs) achieves a color rendering index of 73.5. Moreover, MAEu 0.3 Pb 0.7 Br 3 NC@SBA-15 can be combined with styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene to fabricate a flexible direct X-ray detector, realizing a high sensitivity of 7592.2 µC Gy air −1 cm −2 and a low detection limit of <77 nGy air s −1 ; this is an outstanding value for a NC-based flexible direct X-ray detector. This work serves as a guide for the design of perovskite NCs for both WLEDs and flexible X-ray detectors.
