White light-emitting diodes (WLEDs) are of paramount importance in the development of lighting and display in replace of inefficient fluorescence as well as incandescent lamps. In this work, Tb 3+ , and Tm 3+ were both introduced into a novel phosphate host Ca 9 Nd(PO 4 ) 7 . The X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses make sure that the materials have been synthesized successfully. Further XRD Rietveld refinements were used to shed light on the site preference and the variations of crystal lattice parameters. Strong blue light emission was observed after careful optimization of the doping concentration. Theoretical computation on the basis of density functional theory checks the reliability of the phosphate host for doping luminescent centers. At last, a near-ultraviolet commercial LED chip was used with these materials to make a prototype WLED device. They possess a highly stable warm white light emission upon various driving currents (color temperature is constant 4000 K). The work has shown intriguing prospects of Ca 9 Nd(PO 4 ) 7 : Tm 3+ , Tb 3+ in lighting and display applications.

Solid electrolytes are promising candidates for safe, high-energy battery systems. Composite solid electrolytes, in particular, hold the potential to combine high ionic conductivity with stable electrode interfaces. However, a fundamental trade-off often exists between ion conduction and mechanical properties. Here we present a composite solid electrolyte design that decouples ion conduction from mechanical flexibility, achieving a high ionic conductivity of 10.2 mS cm −1 at 25 °C while maintaining close mechanical contact with the electrode. The composite architecture consists of alternating layers of perpendicularly aligned (PA) Li 0.3 Cd 0.85 PS 3 nanosheets, to establish continuous superionic conduction pathways, and Li-containing polyethylene oxide (PEO) layers, to ensure flexibility and interfacial compatibility. At 25 °C, this PA-Li 0.3 Cd 0.85 PS 3 /PEO electrolyte enables Li||LiNi 0.8 Co 0.1 Mn 0.1 O 2 coin cells (stack pressure during assembly <0.5 MPa) to retain 92% discharge capacity after 600 cycles at 0.2 mA cm −2 , with an average cycling Coulombic efficiency of 99.9%, and also facilitates practical use of pressure-less (stack pressure <0.1 MPa) Li||LiFePO 4 pouch cells. This composite design strategy is further validated by substituting Cd with Mn in the inorganic sulfide nanosheets to produce a PA-Li 0.46 Mn 0.77 PS 3 /PEO electrolyte, exhibiting an ionic conductivity of 6.1 mS cm −1 at 25 °C and good mechanical flexibility.

Bistorta vivipara L. achenes ( B. vivipara achenes), rich in phenolic acids and flavonoids, are a valuable food and medicinal resource. However, a detailed analysis of its individual components and their mechanisms remains unexplored. This study introduces solid-phase extraction (SPE) for selectively isolating and purifying total phenolic acids and flavonoids from B. vivipara achenes. The antioxidant potential of the extracts was evaluated using ABTS (2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)), DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl), and FRAP (ferric ion reducing antioxidant potential) assays. Results showed significant antioxidant activity in the total phenolic acid extract (125.1 ± 0.7 mg GAE/g dry weight [DW]) and total flavonoid extract (1491.1 ± 19.9 mg RE/g DW). Using online FRAP–high-performance liquid chromatography (FRAP–HPLC), seven antioxidant components were identified in the phenolic acid fraction and thirteen in the flavonoid fraction. Notably, protocatechuic acid, cryptochlorogenic acid, isochlorogenic acid A, isochlorogenic acid B, isochlorogenic acid C, shaftoside, isoshaftoside, isoorientin, taxifolin, and vitexin are reported for the first time as antioxidant constituents in B. vivipara achenes. These findings highlight B. vivipara achenes as a promising source of natural antioxidants and functional food ingredients. The SPE–FRAP–HPLC method enables comprehensive analysis by selectively enriching active compounds and enhancing sensitivity and accuracy compared with crude extracts. Furthermore, the application of online FRAP–HPLC facilitates real-time monitoring of the antioxidant activity of individual compounds during chromatographic separation, providing a detailed antioxidant activity profile of phenolic compounds in B. vivipara achenes. Membrane nanofiltration provides a sustainable and energy-efficient platform for precise molecular separation. However, highly permselective and chemically stable membrane materials capable of operating under harsh conditions are currently lacking. Here we report a generalizable monomer–solvent dual engineering strategy that enables the one-step synthesis of chemically robust thiazole-linked polycrystalline covalent organic framework (COF) membranes via scalable interfacial polymerization under ambient conditions for ultraselective molecular separation. The fully π-conjugated aromatic skeleton and the spatially exposed heteroatoms on the irreversible thiazole linkages establish a lone-pair electron network, which not only forms an atomic hydration layer to protect the framework but also confers long-range regulation of electrostatic interactions. The thiazole-linked COF membranes exhibit remarkable structural stability in strong acids (e.g., 12 M HCl), good resistance to organic solvents and chlorine, and high pharmaceutical desalination permselectivity, achieving ion/pharmaceutical separation factors up to 690. This versatile thiazole-linked framework structure offers potential for the development of chemically stable aromatic conjugated COF membranes for diverse vital applications.

Indigo Naturalis (IN), utilized for thousands of years in China, is known for its effects in clearing heat, removing toxins, and alleviating diarrhea. Studies indicate that IN possesses anti-ulcerative colitis (UC) effects. However, the molecular processes that explain its therapeutic outcomes are still not fully understood. This study was to clarify the mechanism of IN against UC using both in vitro and vivo research methods. RAW264.7 cells were activated by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) (1 µg/mL) to found an inflammatory model; MTT and NO test was conducted to examine the influence of IN, indigo, indirubin, isatin, and MIX (indigo, indirubin, and isatin) on cell viability and anti-inflammatory activity. Inflammatory cytokines expression was evaluated with ELISA. Western Blotting was employed to analyze the MAPK, STAT3, and NF-κB pathways. UC model was generated by 2.5% DSS in C57BL/6 mice. Disease activity index (DAI) scoring , myeloperoxidase (MPO), and H&E staining are all for mice status. We demonstrated that IN, indirubin, and isatin can all regulate the expression of inflammatory cytokines. NF-κB, STAT3, and MAPK pathways was closely associated with IN, whereas indirubin acted to block the activation of both the NF-κB and STAT3 pathways. Contrastingly, the isatin mechanism of action was tightly connected with the regulation of the NF-κB and MAPK pathways. Additionally, MIX inhibited the activation of STAT3 pathway while suppressing the level of p-P38 expression in the MAPK pathway. MIX can enhance multiple indicators and conditions in UC mice. The active ingredients in IN (indigo, indirubin, and isatin, MIX) can significantly improve the condition of UC mice. MIX exerts anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the activation of the STAT3 pathway and expression of p-P38 in the MAPK pathway.

This study successfully prepared high-density LiFePO 4 /C composite materials using a ternary co-doping strategy of Nb 2 O 5 , TiO 2 , and V 2 O 5 , combined with particle size optimization and control techniques. The substitution of Nb⁵⁺ for Li⁺ positions can widen the diffusion channels for Li⁺ and enhance its diffusion kinetics. The replacement of Fe²⁺ by Ti⁴⁺ can stabilize the crystal structure, reduce volume changes during charge-discharge processes, and improve cycling stability. The substitution of Fe²⁺ by V 4⁺ and the introduction of electron defects can increase electronic conductivity. The synergistic co-doping of Nb⁵⁺, Ti⁴⁺, and V 4⁺ increased the electrical conductivity of the LFP material from 2.0 × 10 − 1 to 2.6 × 10 − 1 S cm − 1 and the Li⁺ diffusion coefficient from 7.65 × 10 − 13 to 2.39 × 10 − 12 cm 2 s − 1 . Moreover, by optimizing the particle size distribution and adopting a non-uniform particle grading strategy, small particles can efficiently fill the gaps between large particles, reducing porosity and further increasing the compaction density. The final Li₀.₉₉₀Nb₀.₀₁₀Fe₀.₉₉₀Ti₀.₀₀₅V₀.₀₀₅PO₄ material achieved an industry-leading compaction density of 2.72 g cm − 3 under a pressure of 226 MPa. Electrochemical tests showed that the discharge capacities at 0.2 C and 5 C rates were 166.2 mAh g − 1 and 142.4 mAh g − 1 , respectively, and the capacity retention rate after 1000 cycles at 5 C was 91.34%. The assembled 14,500 cylindrical battery exhibited excellent volumetric energy density (0.2 C: 1166.27 Wh L − 1 , 1 C: 1109.62 Wh L − 1 ). This research provides an effective material design strategy for the development of high-energy-density lithium iron phosphate batteries.

Constructing the dual-catalytic scaffolds with the pinpointed photoredox/organometallic sites is pivotal for metallaphotocatalysis, yet challenging. Herein, we demonstrate a versatile protocol of sequential dynamic assembly (SDA) for precise and quantitative installation of Ir-photoredox and Ni-cross-coupling catalysts into a robust metal-organic framework (MOF) to construct an Ir/Ni-catalyst LIFM-XYY-12. Remarkably, LIFM-XYY-12 presents excellent catalytic activity in photoredox-mediated Ni-catalysing cross-coupling reactions between various amines/thiols and aryl halides with yields up to 99%, especially for C–N coupling reaction, achieving fast catalytic reaction kinetics, which is nearly 20-fold than that of the homogeneous system, attributable to the installation of Ir III - and Ni II -sites in close proximity to effectively accelerate electron transfers from Ir- to Ni-centers. Moreover, high S -arylation chemoselectivity (⩾91%) is achieved for various aminothiols carrying primary and secondary arylamine groups, affording a variety of aminothioethers without resorting to protecting group chemistry. The underlying reaction mechanism has been detangled through comprehensive experiments and theoretical calculations. This work highlights SDA as a promising strategy to merge photoredox and transition-metal catalysis into MOF platform for a broad utility in organic transformations.

The widespread use of fluoroquinolone (FQ) antibiotics in both human and veterinary medicine has led to their identification as a new and persistent threat to aquatic ecosystems. Environmental hazards, public health concerns, and the spread of antibiotic resistance are all heightened by their impaired metabolism, inability to be treated by traditional wastewater treatment methods, and ongoing release. With an emphasis on the growing importance of lanthanum-based nanoparticles as sophisticated remediation agents, this review assesses the environmental occurrence, fate, toxicological effects, and removal methods of fluoroquinolones. This paper offers an in-depth investigation of the features, impacts on aquatic ecosystems, and remediation strategies of fluoroquinolones in environmental systems. This work concludes with a comparative, mechanistic evaluation of lanthanum-based nanomaterials for the removal of fluoroquinolones via adsorption and photocatalytic degradation. Their strong affinity, selectivity, structural adaptability, broad pH range, and reusability are rigorously assessed with respect to synthesis techniques and structure–performance correlations. Remaining problems, such as scalability, material stability, recovery, and possible environmental hazards, are also addressed. This analysis presents a cohesive approach connecting fluoroquinolone pollution with novel nanotechnological solutions. It offers recommendations for future material design and sustainable wastewater treatment strategies to reduce antibiotic contamination in aquatic ecosystems.

The aging process has a significant impact on the quality and market value of white tea (WT), as described in a traditional proverb: “One year’s tea, three years’ medicinal value, and seven years becomes a treasure.” However, the lack of a rapid and reliable method for age identification poses challenges for market regulation. This study proposes a novel approach that combines surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) with machine learning (ML) to accurately identify the age of white tea. SERS is used to obtain molecular fingerprint spectra from Fujian white tea samples covering seven different years (2011−2023). Seven machine learning models, including logistic regression (LR), support vector machine (SVM), and random forest (RF), were systematically evaluated. The LR model, after being preprocessed through principal component analysis—logistic discriminant analysis, demonstrated relatively excellent performance. This SERS-ML method can perform rapid analysis and requires very little samples preparation. Our work establishes a robust, efficient, and field-deployable strategy for identifying the age of white tea, which is of great significance for combating fraud and protecting consumers. Graphical

A colorimetric/luminescent detection nanoprobe based on polyacrylic acid (PAA)-modified lanthanide-doped upconversion nanoparticles (PAA-UCNPs) and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) is prepared for cysteamine detection. PAA-UCNPs (NaYF 4 :Yb,Er@NaYF 4 ) exhibit green and red emission under near-infrared laser excitation. In the presence of cysteamine, citrate-stabilized AuNPs aggregate, causing a significant red shift in their absorption peak and weakening the red luminescence of PAA-UCNPs based on the inner filter effect (IFE). This nanoprobe enables rapid (5 min) and precise determination of cysteamine, with a wide linear range (0.1–1.0 µM in colorimetric mode and 0.25–1.25 µM in luminescence mode) and a low detection limit (44.4 nM in colorimetric mode and 23.3 nM in luminescence mode). Moreover, this dual-mode method is used for cysteamine detection in calf serum, demonstrating high sensitivity and reproducibility.

Hemifacial spasm (HFS) is a neurological disorder characterized by involuntary contractions of the facial muscles, which can significantly influence patients’ quality of life. Traditional diagnostic methods are often subjective, and electromyography (EMG) monitoring is constrained by equipment limitations and interference. Current treatments include short-term Botulinum toxin (BTX) injections and high-risk microvascular decompression (MVD), both of which suffer from low patient compliance. This study introduces a closed-loop facial nerve stimulation system integrated into eyewear, featuring triboelectric sensors doped with butylated melamine formaldehyde (BMF)–CaCu 3 Ti 4 O 12 (CCTO), and constructed with micrometer-scale hemispherical structures, which enhance performance by approximately 2.3 times. These sensors capture subtle dynamic signal changes in real-time, suitable for monitoring minute facial muscle activities, while consuming zero power. Additionally, a customized electrical stimulation module with adjustable parameters and a high-precision HFS detection model have been developed, enabling rapid activation of facial nerve stimulators for targeted neuromodulation upon detecting spasms. The system achieves a recognition accuracy of 98% for HFS. Preliminary clinical validation demonstrates effectiveness in reducing spasm severity with inter-patient variability in two involved patients. Overall, this integrated system offers enhanced convenience and patient compliance, presenting a promising solution for HFS treatment.
