In this study, a MoS 2 /polypyrrole (PPy) nanocomposite sensing film was constructed in situ on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) surface via chemical oxidative polymerization. The synergistic coupling of high-surface-area layered MoS 2 and conductive PPy not only significantly increased the effective electrochemical active area of the electrode but also generated multiple affinity interactions toward chlorpyrifos (CPF) molecules through the edge-active sites of MoS 2 and the π -conjugated structure of PPy, endowing the composite film with prominent adsorption-enrichment capability and excellent selectivity for CPF. Upon enrichment of CPF, the specific interactions between the organophosphate groups and the MoS 2 /PPy interface modulated the electron transfer kinetics of the composite film, producing quantifiable electrochemical signals proportional to the pesticide concentration. Under optimized conditions, the proposed sensor achieved a low detection limit of 1.10 μg/L for CPF and exhibited outstanding anti-interference capability and favorable operational stability in complex agricultural product matrices. Real sample analysis demonstrated that the spiked recoveries ranged from 97.69% to 100.83%, with RSD values of 2.34%–3.53%, verifying the excellent accuracy and reliable analytical performance of the as-prepared material. This work provides a novel nanocomposite sensing material for organophosphorus pesticide residue detection and manifests great application potential in agricultural product quality and safety monitoring.

Cu@MoS 2 simultaneously enables NO 3 adsorption and *H supply. • Cu@MoS 2 -2 exhibits excellent structural stability and consistent catalytic performance. • Under light irradiation, Cu@MoS 2 -2 generates abundant high-energy hot electrons. • Cu@MoS 2 -2 achieves 94% FE and 0.526 mmol h −1 cm −2 NH 3 yield at − 0.5 V vs. RHE. Electrochemical nitrate (NO 3 − ) reduction (NO 3 RR) to ammonia (NH 3 ) is a sustainable strategy for converting nitrate-contaminated wastewater into valuable resources. However, the process involves a complex proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET) that requires eight electrons and nine protons. Herein, the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) arising from Cu nanoparticles anchored on MoS 2 nanosheet arrays (Cu@MoS 2 ) is harnessed to regulate electron dynamics and enhance active hydrogen (*H) availability for NO 3 RR. Under simulated sun irradiation, the optimized Cu@MoS 2 heterostructure delivers a stable NH 3 evolution rate of 0.526 mmol h −1 cm −2 with a Faradaic efficiency (FE) of 94.0% at − 0.5 V, which is about 7.2 and 12 times higher than bare MoS 2 (0.073 mmol h −1 cm −2 ) and Cu (0.0438 mmol h −1 cm −2 ), respectively. This work demonstrates the capability of plasmonic cocatalysts to convert supplementary photon flux into multiple catalytic driving forces, opening a new avenue toward boosting catalytic activity through direct utilization of free solar energy. Sepsis diagnosis and prognosis are hindered by the limitations of traditional single-parameter assays, which are costly, slow, and impractical for resource-limited settings. To overcome this, we developed a novel combined nanozyme-linked immunosorbent assay (NLISA) kit for the multiplexed detection of three critical sepsis biomarkers: C-reactive protein, serum amyloid A, and D-dimer. Our approach leverages a unique flower-like CoFe2O4/MoS2 nanosheet with dual substrate affinity, which serves as a highly stable and efficient nanozyme label. This sandwich-type immunocomplex enabled us to achieve robust sensitivity, specificity, and reproducibility at clinically relevant concentrations. Clinical validation using plasma samples from sepsis patients demonstrated strong concordance with the collective data from three separate enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay tests, confirming a significant improvement in the diagnostic reliability. Our NLISA kit not only simplifies multibiomarker detection but also provides a more comprehensive and accessible tool for sepsis diagnosis and monitoring, offering a powerful alternative to conventional methods.

Despite the recognized potential of two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides (2D TMDs) as effective sensitizers for metal oxides, comparative insights into their specific sensitization effects on spinel ferrites remain lacking. Herein, MoS 2 -CdFe 2 O 4 and WS 2 -CdFe 2 O 4 composites were synthesized via an in-situ solvothermal-calcination strategy. Characterization results confirmed that the incorporation of TMDs effectively modulated the microstructure and surface properties of CdFe 2 O 4 . Specifically, the WS 2 -CdFe 2 O 4 (WDF-10) had a larger specific surface area (10.14 m 2 /g) and pore volume than the MoS 2 -CdFe 2 O 4 (MDF-10), exposing more active sites. XPS suggests an increased fraction of defect-related/adsorbed oxygen species in the composites. Gas-sensing tests revealed performance differences: the WDF-10 sensor exhibited a remarkable response to 100 ppm formaldehyde at 140°C, approximately 2.5 times higher than the MDF-10. Meanwhile, the MDF-10 sensor demonstrated reduced response/recovery times, enhanced quantitative precision, and remarkable long-term stability. The sensitization mechanism is attributed to the synergistic effect of increased specific surface area and the proposed formation of p-n heterojunctions. Energy band analysis suggests that WS 2 , with its unique band alignment, may induce a stronger depletion layer modulation on CdFe 2 O 4 , thereby enhancing the response. This work demonstrates that surface sensitization with MoS 2 or WS 2 is an effective strategy to enhance the gas-sensing performance of spinel ferrites.

A novel humidity sensor based on graphene foam combined with MoS2 was prepared in this paper. MoS2/graphene foam (MGF) composite materials were synthesized by the atmospheric pressure CVD method, then transferred onto a glass substrate, and had electrodes prepared to complete sensor fabrication. Due to the high surface - to - volume ratio and network structure of sensing materials, humidity sensors exhibit shorter response and recovery times by allowing water molecules to be absorbed and released more quickly. Besides, this type of sensor also shows relatively linear sensitivity (0.04%/%RH between 10% and 90% RH) and good repeatability (the maximum offset within 0.41% at 60% RH), so that it can be used for respiratory monitoring. This provides a unique method for respiratory monitoring that can be applied in medical monitoring, with great potential for use. Moreover, to further enhance the dynamic performance of humidity sensors, a dynamic compensation method combined with system identification and particle swarm optimization (PSO) is proposed. By employing this approach, the identified dynamic mathematical model agrees well with the actual measurement results (95.67% in absorption and 91.09% in desorption). In the process of moisture absorption, the sensor component's operational bandwidth is enhanced from 0.06 Hz to 1.91 Hz, and the response time is shortened from 2.06s to 0.29s. During desorption, the sensor component's operational bandwidth is enhanced from 0.02 Hz to 1.75 Hz, and the recovery time is shortened from 3.74s to 0.48s. This dynamic compensation method offers a practical approach to enhance these sensors' performance.

Two-dimensional (2D) MoS2 demonstrates significant potential for applications in flexible electronic sensing devices due to its unique physical and chemical properties and ultrathin layered structure. Metallic 1T phase MoS2 is inherently metastable and tends to transform into the thermodynamically stable semiconducting 2H phase. Atomic doping can regulate the crystal phase of the MoS2 and carrier concentration, and enhance the material stability. In this study, 2D metallic Sn-doped MoS2 (SnxMo1−xS2) nanosheets were successfully synthesized via a hydrothermal method. The film resistance of SnxMo1−xS2 can be precisely controlled to change by two orders of magnitude through the precise regulation of the Sn doping concentration. The Sn0.4Mo0.6S2-based temperature sensor displayed a negative temperature coefficient of resistance of −0.020 °C−1, exhibiting an 82% improvement compared with 1T MoS2. Meanwhile, the temperature-sensing performance of Sn0.4Mo0.6S2 nanosheets is superior to that of reported doped and un-doped TMDs and their composites. In addition, the TCR remained stable under different bending conditions owing to the special nanosheet structure. Therefore, the Sn0.4Mo0.6S2 sensor showed promising applicability for flexible and wearable human body temperature monitoring and activity tracking devices.

The drive systems of new energy vehicles, which employ high-speed motors and low-viscosity lubricants, often subject motor bearings to high-temperature and oil-starved conditions. This can lead to the deformation of polymer bearing cages, resulting in abnormal vibration and noise. In this study, polyimide/molybdenum disulfide (PI/MoS2) composites were prepared, and their thermal stability was characterized using a dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). High-temperature friction and wear tests against ceramic balls were conducted on a multifunctional tribometer. The wear behavior and surface element distribution were examined by laser confocal microscopy (LCSM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). Results indicate that the PI-MoS2composites effectively mitigate surface contact deformation with rising temperatures, reducing the wear loss by around 30% compared to pure PI. This improvement is attributed to the enhanced heat resistance from MoS2and the formation of a lubricating film during friction. The findings provide guidance for selecting and designing composite materials for high-speed bearing cages.

The efficient recovery of gold from thiosulfate leaching solutions remains challenging due to the low efficiency and operational complexity of existing methods. In this work, a cadmium sulfide-molybdenum disulfide heterojunction supported on alumina beads (CdS-MoS 2 @AS) was synthesized via a controlled hydrothermal strategy. The resulting composite was subsequently applied as a photocatalyst for the efficient recovery of trace thiosulfate gold (Au(S 2 O 3 ) 2 3- ) from thiosulfate systems. Structural and compositional analyses confirmed the successful formation of the CdS-MoS 2 heterojunction, which facilitated the separation and transport of photogenerated charge carriers. CdS-MoS 2 @AS achieved almost 100% gold recovery within 20 min, outperforming previously reported gold recovery materials. Even at ultralow gold concentrations (1–10 ppm), the photocatalyst maintained outstanding recovery efficiency, underscoring its potential for direct gold recovery from low-grade thiosulfate leachate streams. The enhanced recovery performance was attributed to the synergistic optical response of the CdS-MoS 2 heterojunction, which promoted rapid photogenerated electron transfer, thereby driving the effective reduction of Au(S 2 O 3 ) 2 3- to metallic Au 0 . This study presents an efficient and scalable strategy for gold recovery from thiosulfate solutions with great significance for the sustainable development of gold.

The practical application of high-energy-density potassium metal batteries (KMBs) is currently hindered by severe safety hazards derived from dendritic growth and the energy-diluting nature of electrochemically inactive components. Here we report a synergistic multi-functional strategy to construct an active separator (MoS 2 /PI), comprising a robust polyimide (PI) nanofiber skeleton and a kinetic-regulating MoS 2 coating. Corroborated by theoretical simulations and experimental characterizations, the potassiophilic MoS 2 layer effectively modulates the local electric field and minimizes the nucleation barrier, thereby orchestrating a uniform K + flux for dendrite-free deposition. Distinguishing this work from conventional inert barriers, the proposed design activates the separator into an energy-boosting component. Both the accessible carbonyl sites in the PI backbone and the MoS 2 coating participate in reversible potassiation. They contribute individual specific capacities of ∼7.0% and ∼21.2% relative to the KPB cathode, respectively, achieving a total capacity enhancement of ∼28.2%. Benefiting from this dual-active mechanism, the K||K symmetric cells exhibit ultra-stable cycling for over 4000 h. Potassium Prussian Blue (KPB)||K full cells equipped with the MoS 2 /PI separator deliver a superior capacity of 93.1 mAh g -1 , significantly outperforming those using commercial PP (69.3 mAh g -1 ) and GF (72.6 mAh g -1 ) separators. The device also demonstrates exceptional durability by maintaining 80.7% capacity after 1000 cycles, corresponding to a stable lifespan of 3270 h. This study validates the active separator strategy as a critical pathway for developing next-generation high-energy-density alkali metal batteries.

For non-magnetic MOF derivatives, the core challenge in current research is how to overcome impedance mismatch and enhance microwave absorption performance through precise control of the material’s micro-morphology and dielectric properties without introducing magnetic components. The incorporation of MoS 2 , a two-dimensional material with semiconductor properties and a layered structure, can significantly enhance the absorptive performance of such materials. In this work, a novel Ti-MOF derivative absorber material (TiO 2 /C@MoS 2 ) with hydrangea-like morphology is proposed by in situ growing MoS 2 with varying loadings on Ti-MOFs to overcome the aforementioned challenges. Specifically, the TiO 2 /C@MoS 2 composite material TM72 achieves a minimum reflection loss (RL min ) of −62.1 dB at a thickness of 2.05 mm, a maximum effective absorption bandwidth (EAB max ) of 5.88 GHz (corresponding to a thickness of 2.18 mm), and a radar cross-section (RCS) reduction of 16.6 dB m 2 . For TM71, the RL min is −52.82 dB at a matching thickness of 2.47 mm, with an EAB max of 6.93 GHz corresponding to a matching thickness of 2.28 mm, and it also achieves a radar cross-section (RCS) reduction of 17.95 dB m 2 . This enables TiO 2 /C@MoS 2 to fulfill the critical demands of electromagnetic wave absorbing materials (EMWAMs): “strong, broad, thin, and lightweight.” Furthermore, RCS simulations validate the actual applicability of this composite material. Consequently, this effort provides an innovative strategy for constructing next-generation EMWAMs featuring ultrathin structures, outstanding absorption performance, and broadband absorption capabilities. This study demonstrates that in-situ growth of MoS 2 nanosheets on non-magnetic Ti-MOF-derived TiO 2 /C constructs a novel hydrangea-like core–shell composite whose dielectric constant is precisely tuned by the semiconducting MoS 2 shell to overcome impedance mismatch, achieving a minimum reflection loss of −62.1 dB at 2.05 mm and an effective absorption bandwidth of 5.88 GHz without magnetic component. The synergistic mechanism—extended electromagnetic wave propagation paths within the hydrangea architecture, enhanced interfacial/dipole polarization at the TiO 2 /C–MoS 2 heterojunctions, and optimized dielectric loss balance—provides a viable strategy for designing next-generation lightweight, thin, and broadband electromagnetic wave absorbing materials. Large-area MoS2nanotube arrays were successfully prepared using a combination of simple and reliable electrochemical deposition and chemical etching techniques, with highly ordered ZnO nanorod arrays used as the template. The thickness of MoS2nanotube walls can be effectively controlled by adjusting the deposition time. The characterization results of SEM and TEM showed the successful preparation of MoS2nanotube arrays with different wall thicknesses. The composition of the obtained nanotube arrays was verified to be MoS2by EDS, XRD, and XPS characterizations. It is worth noting that compared to MoS2nanofilms, the as-prepared MoS2nanotube arrays exhibit stronger photoelectric response properties; the on/off ratio and photoresponsivity increased by 2.8 times and 3.8 times, respectively, mainly attributed to its significantly increased specific surface area. These research results provide new ideas for the large-area controllable preparation of MoS2low-dimensional nanostructures, as well as new material candidates for the development of low-cost and high-performance photodetectors.

Halide perovskite-based memristors have demonstrated great potential in neuromorphic computing, yet their performance remains severely limited by poor stability arising from its abundant grain boundaries and intrinsic defects. In this work, we report lead-free Cs 3 Bi 2 Br 9 perovskite-based memristors enabled by interfacial engineering with molybdenum disulfide (MoS 2 ). Acting as a growth template, MoS 2 effectively induces the formation of perovskite films with enhanced crystallinity, superior interface quality, and suppressed defects. The constructed Au/Ag/Cs 3 Bi 2 Br 9 /MoS 2 /ITO memristive device achieves typical self-rectifying behavior with an ultra-low set voltage of ∼0.14 V, low set power consumption of 140 nW, and low energy of 300 pJ. Meanwhile, the device demonstrates exceptional cycling stability and low device-to-device variability (C V < 6.37%). The experimental and theoretical fittings reveal that the resistive switching mechanism is governed by an Ag + -assisted trap-controlled electronic transport, while the reinforced built-in electric field endows the device with pronounced self-rectifying characteristics, thereby effectively suppressing sneak currents in crossbar arrays. The device successfully emulates key nociceptive behaviours of biological pain receptors, including threshold response, adaptation, and hyperalgesia. This study highlights the interfacial engineering enables synergistic optimization of crystallinity and defect states. These findings provide new insights into the design of lead-free perovskite-based memristors for bioinspired neuromorphic sensory systems.
