The probe materials play a significant role in improving the detection efficiency and sensitivity of lateral-flow immunochromatographic test strip (ICTS). Unlike conventional ICTS assay usually uses single-component, solid gold nanoparticles as labeled probes, in our present study, a bimetallic, hollow Au-Ag nanoparticles (NPs) labeled ICTS was successfully developed for the detection of clenbuterol (CLE). The hollow Au-Ag NPs with different Au/Ag mole ratio and tunable size were synthesized by varying the volume ratio of [HAuCl4]:[Ag NPs] via the galvanic replacement reaction. The surface of hollow Ag-Au NPs was functionalized with 11-mercaptoundecanoic acid (MUA) for further covalently bonded with anti-CLE monoclonal antibody. Overall size of the Au-Ag NPs, size of the holes within individual NPs and also Au/Ag mole ratio have been systematically optimized to amplify both the visual inspection signals and the quantitative data. The sensitivity of optimized hollow Au-Ag NPs probes has been achieved even as low as 2 ppb in a short time (within 15 min), which is superior over the detection performance of conventional test strip using Au NPs. The optimized hollow Au-Ag NPs labeled test strip can be used as an ideal candidate for the rapid screening of CLE in food samples.

The novel ternary cyclized polyacrylonitrile (CPAN)/Ag/AgCl composites were successfully synthesized by a facile precipitation and photo-assistant reduction method. The CPAN/Ag/AgCl particles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV–vis DRS), photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL), electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS) and photocurrent time (EI) measurement. The photocatalytic activities of the samples were investigated through the decomposition of methyl orange (MO) and rhodamine B aqueous solution under visible-light irradiation. The results showed that the CPAN/Ag/AgCl photocatalysts displayed much higher visible-light photocatalytic activity than Ag/AgCl, and the reaction rate constant of the MO degradation catalyzed by CPAN/Ag/AgCl is about 3 times of that by Ag/AgCl. It is proposed that the photogenerated holes h + and O 2 − played important roles in the photocatalytic degradation of MO in the presence of CPAN/Ag/AgCl composites under visible light irradiation.

Photocatalytic CO 2 reduction technology can use sunlight to convert CO 2 into fuel or chemical raw materials, slowdown the greenhouse effect and achieve sustainable development. Therefore, we have developed a series of high-quality carbon quantum dots using alkaline lignin (AL) as the core raw material and using high efficiency hydrothermal method. Ag-BiVO 4 composite was prepared by hydrothermal method. Then, the Ag-BiVO 4 -CQDs photocatalytic composite was prepared by constant temperature water bath method. The structure and morphology of the composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscope and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Through optical and electrochemical tests, it can be seen that the composite has better interfacial charge transfer and electron transport ability. In the visible light catalytic CO 2 reduction reaction, Ag-BiVO 4 can selectively reduce CO 2 to CH 4 , and the CH 4 yield is greatly improved after Ag-BiVO 4 combines with CQDs. The 3 h CH 4 yield increased from 17.64 μmol/g to 97.82 μmol/g after reduction by adding 40 mL CQDs to Ag-BiVO 4 composite, which is 5.54 times that of Ag-BiVO 4 . The results showed that the introduced CQDs were uniformly attached to Ag-BiVO 4 . As an electron transport medium, CQDs can efficiently facilitate the transfer of photogenerated carriers, suppress the recombination of electron–hole pairs, and enhance the photocatalytic performance of Ag-BiVO 4 -CQDs for CO 2 reduction.

HKSUT-1 is often used as an adsorbent because of its excellent adsorption properties. In this study, Ag + was impregnated into the HKSUT-1 precursor solution using the impregnation method, with sodium borohydride (NaBH 4 ) serving as the reducing agent. This was done to examine the removal efficiency of NR dye. The Ag-HKSUT-1 composites were prepared by varying the additions of AgNO 3 and NaBH 4 . The morphology and structure of the Ag-HKSUT-1 composites were characterized by TG, FT-IR, BET and TEM. The adsorption performance of AH1 for neutral red dye in wastewater was investigated. The adsorption process was described by the Langmuir model and the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The adsorption capacity of AH1 for NR dye at 298 K was calculated to be 64.59 mg/g, indicating that Ag-HKUST-1 effectively adsorbed NR dye. The adsorption process is driven by a chemisorption mechanism, where intermolecular forces between Ag-HKUST-1 and NR, electrostatic interactions, and π-π conjugation between benzene rings play key roles. The results enhance our understanding of the surface interactions between Ag-HKUST-1 and NR dyes and broaden the application of HKUST-1 as an adsorbent for pollutant removal in water.

This study focuses on synthesizing a composite material of Ag/ZnO/BiOCl using Ag, ZnO, and BiOCl as raw materials. The material was prepared by loading Ag and BiOCl onto ZnO nanofilms, aiming to enhance the photocatalytic degradation of ciprofloxacin (CIP). Optimization of the photocatalytic degradation process through single-factor experiments revealed that under conditions of an initial CIP pH of 9, an Ag/ZnO/BiOCl dosage of 1 g/L, and an initial CIP concentration of 5 mg/L the conversion efficiency of CIP reached 98.79% after 150 min of exposure to a 250 W xenon lamp simulating sunlight. Furthermore, the composite material maintained a conversion efficiency of 86.17% for CIP even after five cycles of reuse, demonstrating its excellent stability. The optical properties, elemental composition, valence state, crystallinity, and morphology of the samples were analyzed using techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), photoluminescence (PL), UV–visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-vis DRS), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results indicate that the introduction of Ag expanded the light response range of ZnO, while the addition of BiOCl improved the separation efficiency of electron–hole pairs in the composite nanomaterial. The photocatalytic mechanism was further elucidated through radical scavenging experiments, confirming that ·OH and h+are the main active species in the degradation process.

Due to the rapid development of information technology and the trend toward miniaturization of electronic equipment, the research on electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials is rapidly moving toward low-dimensional, core–shell, and lightweight directions, with a wide range of application prospects in various fields. In this study, using pDA as a binder, poly(vinylidene difluoride) (PVDF)/Fe3O4@pDA@Ag nanofiber membranes (NFMs) with a multicore–shell structure were prepared by in situ growth of Ag nanoparticle (NP) layers on the fiber surface of electrospun PVDF/Fe3O4 NFMs fabricated in batch. Compared to PVDF@pDA@Ag NFM, the average EMI shielding efficiency (SE) of PVDF/Fe3O4@pDA@Ag NFM reached 82.31 dB because of the increased hysteresis and multireflection losses inside the NFM caused by the moderate addition of Fe3O4 NPs. In addition, the synergistic effect of Fe3O4 and Ag NPs increased the microwave attenuation and impedance matching of composite NFM, further enhancing its EMI SE.

Constructing semiconductor composites composed of multiphase heterojunctions has been considered as an effective strategy for designing promising photocatalyst systems. In this work, a novel ternary heterojunction photocatalyst was prepared by integrating MoS 2 semiconductor nanoflowers with silver doped covalent organic frameworks (COFs) and used for photocatalytic degradation of antibiotics. The regular pore structure and solid skeleton of COFs matrix optimize the distribution of constituent units, making Ag-MoS 2 nanoflower uniform and highly dispersed on the COFs material matrix. Moreover, the silver nanoparticles in the catalyst acted as an electron mediator, which inhibited the recombination of charge carriers, and effectively enhanced the photocatalytic activity of Ag-MoS 2 @COF. The as-prepared Ag-MoS 2 @COF ternary heterojunction photocatalyst exhibited high degradation efficiency for tetracycline (TC), reaching 90.1 % after 50 min of visible light irradiation, which was superior to most heterojunction photocatalysts. The Ag-MoS 2 @COF also demonstrated good reusability, almost maintaining the initial photocatalytic efficiency after 5 cycles. In addition, the plausible direct solid-state Z-scheme photocatalytic mechanism for TC degradation with Ag-MoS 2 @COF ternary catalyst under visible light irradiation was proposed according to LC-MS analysis, radicals trapping experiment and photoelectric chemical test. This work provides a new paradigm for the design and development of COF-based ternary heterojunction photocatalysts for environmental remediation.

I–III–VI quantum dots (QDs) have gained widespread attention owing to their significant advantages of non-toxicity, large structural tolerance, and efficient photoluminescence potential. However, the disbalance of reactivity between the elements will result in undesired products and compromised optical properties. Reducing the activity of highly reactive group IB elements is the most common approach, but it will reduce the overall reactivity and lead to a wide dispersion of QD sizes. In this study, we propose a method to improve the overall reactivity of the reaction system using the highly active IIIA precursor InI3, which triggers rapid nucleation and promotes the formation of Ag(In,Ga)S2 (AIGS) QDs, resulting in monodisperse particle size distributions and a significantly improved photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) (from 12% to 72%). Furthermore, narrow band edge emission is realized by coating a gallium sulfide (GaSx) shell on the basis of obtaining high-quality AIGS QDs. The core/shell QDs exhibit a 90% PLQY with a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of only 31 nm at 530 nm. This study provides a viable design strategy to synthesize monodisperse AIGS QDs with a narrow peak width and efficient luminescence, promoting the application of AIGS QDs in the field of luminescent displays.

The key point to broaden the operating temperature window for synergistic control of NO x and oxygenated volatile organic compounds (OVOCs) with high NO x /VOCs conversion and N 2 /CO 2 selectivity relies on development of appropriate catalysts. Herein, a silver-modified Mn/HZSM-5 catalyst was designed, which achieved an effective NO x and acetone co-removal activity and maintained over 90 % N 2 /CO 2 selectivity at a broad temperature range from 293 to 400 °C. The excellent performance of MnAg/HZSM-5 was due to large surface area, plenty of oxygen vacancies and Lewis acid sites, as well as outstanding oxygen mobility and reducibility that derived from the interactions between Mn 4+ /Mn 3+ and Ag + /Ag 0 . NO x reduction followed both Eley-Rideal and Langmuir-Hinshelwood mechanisms, while acetone hardly replaced NH 3 as a reduction agent. Acetone oxidation underwent acetone → acetate → formate → carbonate → CO 2 and H 2 O following a Mars-van Krevelen mechanism. NH 3 participated in acetone oxidation, forming amide and nitrile species, which caused catalyst deactivation and secondary pollution.

In recent years, MXene has attracted significant attention for electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding due to its unique layered structure and excellent conductivity. However, its mechanical limitations pose challenges for practical implementation. In this study, a lightweight, anisotropic MXene@Ag/wood aerogel composite is fabricated by integrating MXene with silver nanoparticles and loading it onto the cellulose framework of wood aerogels (WAs). The WAs are derived from natural wood through an eco-friendly delignification process. The composite leverages the 3D porous structure of natural wood and the high conductivity of MXene, while the incorporation of silver nanoparticles further enhances its EMI shielding performance, achieving a shielding effectiveness of up to 71.15 dB. It also exhibits a desirable low density of 0.065 g cm − 3 and high SSE/t value of 4904.75 dB cm 2 g −1 , demonstrating excellent lightweight properties. Its anisotropic structure results in direction-dependent shielding, which can be adjusted by material orientation, offering flexibility for diverse applications. Moreover, strong triboelectric nanogenerator output highlights its potential in flexible electronics. This composite holds promising applications in high-frequency circuits, communication systems, and aerospace, reducing EMI interference and enhancing system stability and safety. This study introduces a new strategy for developing lightweight, efficient EMI shielding materials.

The surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) technique provides a quick and reliable method for detecting pesticide residues. In this study, flexible substrates, composed of orderly arranged silver nanospheres (Ag NPs) films on graphene paper, were fabricated through a simple, low-cost Ag NP self-assembly process at a liquid–liquid interface, followed by transfer of the films onto the graphene paper. The SERS performance of the fabricated substrates was evaluated using a portable Raman spectrometer, with rhodamine 6G (R6G) serving as the probe molecule. The results indicate that the bilayer Ag NP films-covered graphene paper exhibits optimal overall performance, characterized by high sensitivity and high uniformity. The limit of detection (LOD) for the R6G molecule is as low as 8.73 × 10 −9 M, demonstrating the strong signal amplification capability of the SERS substrate. Moreover, the relative standard deviation (RSD) of the Raman intensity at 1508 cm −1 for different selected points on the substrate is 5.018 %, indicating high uniformity of the SERS substrate. Finally, the performance of the SERS substrate was further evaluated by detecting thiram in fresh orange juice, demonstrating the capability to detect concentrations as low as 10 −6 M. This result highlights the significant potential of the developed SERS substrate for practical applications in food safety and quality control.

Lithium metal anodes hold the potential for high-energy-density batteries due to their substantial theoretical capacity, but their practical application is hindered by issues such as dendrite growth, poor cycling stability, and safety concerns. This study presents the development of a three-dimensional Li-Si composite alloy anode (Ag@Cu@Li-Si), combining a porous copper scaffold with a lithiophilic silver (Ag) layer and a lithium-silicon (Li-Si) alloy. The Ag@Cu@Li-Si composite demonstrates significant improvements in dendrite suppression, cycling stability, and electrochemical performance. The composite anode exhibits a critical current density of 15 mA cm −2 and over 900 hours of stable operation at 1.0 mA cm −2 in symmetric cells. When integrated into a full cell with a commercial LiFePO 4 cathode, it maintains excellent cycling stability, delivering over 600 cycles with a rate capability of 1.0 C. This study provides valuable insights into the design of lithium metal anodes, highlighting the importance of lithiophilic materials and 3D frameworks for high-performance lithium-metal batteries.
