Garnet transparent ceramics are promising color converters for white laser diodes (LDs) because of their efficient broadband emission and favorable thermal properties. Herein, composite color converters were prepared by integrating the Lu 3 Al 5 O 12 :Ce 3+ (LuAG:Ce) transparent ceramics with h-BN modified Mg 2 Al 4 Si 5 O 18 : Eu 2+ (MAS:Eu) phosphor-in-glass films (PiGFs). Under 450 nm excitation, the LuAG: Ce-BN-MAS:Eu composites exhibit broad emission bands ranging from 480 to 720 nm, and the relative Eu 2+ /Ce 3+ emission intensity ratio rises with increasing h-BN content. The optimized LuAG:Ce-2BN-MAS:3Eu sample shows the highest emission intensity, with an internal quantum efficiency of 92.46% and an external quantum efficiency of 42.83%. In addition, the emission intensity at 150 °C retains 94.56% of that at room temperature. Under blue-laser irradiation at 12.5 W∙mm -2 , the steady-state temperature of light spot remains below 76.7 °C. The constructed laser-driven lighting device exhibits a luminous efficacy of 83.45 lm∙W -1 , a correlated color temperature of 6103 K and a Ra of 85.8. These results indicate that the LuAG:Ce-BN-MAS:Eu composites exhibit great potential for high-color-rendering white LDs.

A g-C 3 N 4 @(H/C-CdS) photocatalyst via a microinjection titration-stirring strategy. • g-C 3 N 4 suppressed H/C-CdS nanoparticle agglomeration enhancing active site exposure. • CS 2 SM-modified CdS crystallization improved charge transfer and defect regulation. • To achieve 78.37 % TC degradation in 60 min under sunlight. The development of efficient photocatalysts for visible-light and solar-driven degradation of wastewater treatment containing antibiotics remains a significant challenge. Here, this work reports a novel g-C 3 N 4 @(H/C-CdS) catalyst synthesized via a facile microinjection titration-stirring strategy based on a dual-interface design. Through comprehensive morphological and structural characterization, the catalyst demonstrated optimized two-dimensional layered structures, enlarged specific surface areas, and narrower band gaps, which were essential for its superior photocatalytic activity. The system simultaneously established a semiconductor heterojunction between g-C 3 N 4 and CdS as well as a Z-scheme interphase junction between hexagonal and cubic CdS, effectively facilitating charge separation and transfer. Notably, the incorporation of CS 2 -storage material (CS 2 SM) as a crystallization modifier precisely controlled CdS crystal phases and defect states. Benefiting from these structural and electronic properties, the composite achieved efficient cycling stability and remarkable photocatalytic degradation efficiency for 150 mg/L tetracycline, achieving degradation rates of 76.08% under visible light and 78.37% under natural sunlight within 60 min. This work provides detailed insights and a solid foundation for designing advanced dual-interface photocatalysts for solar-driven wastewater treatment. ZnO has been used as template to prepare and regulate the structures of functional nanomaterials. Due to the structural characteristics of Zn, its nanomaterials are generally considered inert. This study presents an innovative ZnO-templated synthesis of hollow N-doped carbon materials with atomically dispersed Zn single atoms (Zn SA/NC), where ZnO uniquely serves dual roles as both structural template and Zn precursor. The synthesized Zn SA/NC exhibits remarkable bifunctionality, demonstrating exceptional electrocatalytic activity for H₂O₂ reduction (detection limit: 3.7 µM, sensitivity: 1285.7 µA·mM⁻¹·cm⁻²) and intrinsic peroxidase-like activity for TMB oxidation. Leveraging these properties, we developed a dual-mode H₂O₂ detection platform integrating electrochemical and colorimetric readouts. The work challenges conventional views on Zn’s catalytic inertness by revealing that Zn-Nₓ sites enable efficient charge redistribution, while the hollow architecture enhances mass transport. This strategy bridges the gap between structural control and atomic dispersion in single-atom catalyst design. Graphical

A novel Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) steam pyrolysis method is developed by introducing high H/C ratio gas to produce terephthalic acid (TPA) monomer. CH 4 , C 2 H 6 , C 2 H 4 , C 3 H 8 , and C 3 H 6 were used as external hydrogen donors to upgrade the waste PET steam pyrolysis process, which were proven to be effective. Under optimized conditions (H 2 O flow rate of 0.1 mL/min, C 3 H 8 flow rate of 2 mL/min, heating rate of 0.5 °C/min, and final pyrolysis temperature of 450 °C), the H 2 O/C 3 H 8 /N 2 system achieved a product yield increase from 32.69% to 93.15% and a TPA purity improvement from 26.57% to 90.73%, with complete elimination of coke residues. Isotope tracing experiments using D 2 O confirmed the dual roles of H 2 O in hydroxyl substitution and hydrogen transfer, with C 3 H 8 compensating for hydrogen deficiency from H 2 O and enhancing the hydrogen transfer pathway. Through DFT calculations, the pathways and mechanisms of PET steam pyrolysis using C 3 H 8 as an external hydrogen donor were proposed, demonstrating that H 2 O and C 3 H 8 synergistically mediate the oriented pyrolysis of PET toward TPA by supplying ·OH and ·H radicals. This method offers a new idea for directional pyrolysis to prepare monomers, which is of great significance for achieving the recycling of waste plastics.

Fulvic acid (FA) has been widely used as a plant growth regulator to alleviate salt stress. However, the mechanism by which it enhances salt tolerance in rice remains unclear. This study systematically investigated the chemical structure of FA and its role in enhancing rice salt tolerance through the regulation of plasma membrane (PM) H + -ATPase. The results demonstrated that the increased molecular weight (MW) of FA companied by progressive aromaticity enhancement and functional group depletion. Principal component analysis revealed that low-MW FA fractions (< 3 kDa), enriched in carboxylic-C, phenolic-C, and lignin-like substances, exhibited a strong positive correlation with root growth, membrane potential (MP) hyperpolarization, and Na + efflux under 100 mmol/L NaCl stress. Mechanistically, FA directly activated PM H + -ATPase (activity increased by 30.3%‒86.2%), generating a proton gradient that energized SOS1 to mediate Na + efflux, leading to salt tolerance in rice. Genetic validation using osa1 knockout mutants confirmed the indispensable role of PM H + -ATPase in FA-induced responses, as both MP and Na + efflux remained unaltered upon FA1‒FA5 treatment. This research found that FA fractions with high functional group density and low aromaticity can serve as optimal plant biostimulants for salt stress mitigation, providing a new strategy for sustainable lignite valorization in precision agriculture.

To address the inherent microporosity and inadequate long-term corrosion protection capacity of plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) ceramic coatings deposited on 6063 aluminum alloy substrates, a hierarchical Ce-doped PEO/h-BN/diamondlike carbon (DLC) composite coating architecture was fabricated via combined hydrothermal pore sealing and plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) post treatment routes. The microstructure, chemical composition, and corrosion behavior of the coatings were systematically characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Raman spectroscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), potentiodynamic polarization, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The results demonstrated that hydrothermal treatment effectively introduced h-BN nanosheets into discharge channels and the micropores of the Ce-doped PEO coating. XPS, Raman, and FT-IR analyses confirmed the successful incorporation of h-BN while preserving its characteristic layered structure. Subsequently, a continuous DLC film containing typical sp 2 /sp 3 hybridized carbon bonds was successfully deposited by PECVD. Among all tested processing parameter combinations, the composite coating modified with 1 g L −1 h-BN hydrothermal sealing followed by 60 min PECVD deposition delivered optimal comprehensive anticorrosion performance, featured by a minimum corrosion current density of 1.76 × 10 −9 A cm −2 and the highest impedance response in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution. The significantly improved anticorrosion performance originates from the dual synergistic barrier effect derived from h-BN nanosheet pore plugging and the dense DLC outer capping layer. Specifically, h-BN nanosheets effectively reduced pore connectivity and prolonged the diffusion path of corrosive species, whereas the dense DLC overlayer served as additional physical barrier that suppressed electrolyte penetration and interfacial charge transfer. This study provides valuable experimental guidance and theoretical support for the design of graded ceramic-carbon composite protective coatings for aluminum alloys serving in high chloride marine environments.

The development of highly active and CO-tolerant hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) electrocatalysts is of great significance for alkaline exchange membrane fuel cells (AEMFCs). Here, the designed atomically Ni anchored Ru/RuO 2 heterostructure nanosheets (Ni SA -Ru@RuO 2 NSs/C) exhibit enhanced activity and stability for HOR in alkaline media. The optimized electrocatalyst delivers a high CO-tolerant durability with 92.3% retention in the 1000 ppm CO concentration after 5000 s test. Moreover, the anode catalyst Ni SA -Ru@RuO 2 NSs/C assembled AEMFCs output a peak power density (PPD) and specific PPD of 1.76 W cm −2 and 17.6 W mg PGM −1 under the H 2 /O 2 condition and performed a long-term stability with negligible decay for 100 h at 0.5 A cm −2 for the AEMFCs. The relative mechanism studies reveal that the Ru/RuO 2 heterostructure nanosheet and dispersed Ni single atoms have optimized the *H and *OH adsorption simultaneously and weaken the *CO adsorption. Our work may offer a significant guideline on the rational design of high-performance HOR electrocatalyst for energy-related applications.

The study about simultaneously enhancing the resistive switching level and ambient-air-stability of perovskite-based memorizers will promote its commercialization. Here, a new 3D perovskite (TAZ-H)PbBr 3 (TAZ-H + = protonated thiazole) has been fabricated as FTO/(TAZ-H)PbBr 3 /Ag device, which only exhibits binary memory performance with the high tolerant temperature of 170 °C. After encapsulating by polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), the (TAZ-H)PbBr 3 @PVP composite-based device can demonstrate ternary resistive switching behavior with considerable ON2/ON1/OFF ratio (10 5.9 : 10 3.9 :1) and high ternary yield (68 %). Specially, this device presents good ambient-air stability at RH 80 % and thermal tolerance of 100 °C. The binary resistive switching mechanism can be ascribed to the halogen ion migration induced by bromine defects in the (PbBr 3 ) n n – framework. But the ternary resistive switching phenomenon in the (TAZ-H)PbBr 3 @PVP-based device could be depicted as the carrier transport from filled traps of PVP to (PbBr 3 ) n n – framework (ON1 state) and then carriers flowing in the re-arranged (TAZ-H) n n + chain in 3D channels (ON2 state). The PVP treatment can not only modify the grain boundary defects, but also facilitate the transport of injected carriers to the perovskite films via Pb-O coordinated bonds and inhibition of order-disorder transformation. This facial strategy for implementing ternary perovskite-based memorizers with good ambient-air-stability is quite meaningful for high-density memory in harsh environments.

Direct seawater electrolysis for hydrogen production faces significant challenges, particularly regarding stability due to chlorine corrosion and oxidation. Herein, we present an earth-abundant alkaline seawater oxidation electrocatalyst (CO 3 2− -Co(OH) 2 @FeOOH) capable of sustained electrolysis for 5000 h without a significant attenuation at 1 A cm −2 , achieving 100% oxygen Faradaic efficiency. This multilayer electrode, featuring an amorphous FeOOH coating on crystalline cobalt carbonate hydroxide, not only generates a CoFe (oxy)hydroxide active layer but also effectively inhibits the release of CO 3 2− into the electrolyte during the reconstruction process. The synergistic effect of CO 3 2− and the distinct structure contributes to the catalyst's high activity, selectivity, and corrosion resistance. The constructed Pt/C/NF||CO 3 2− -Co(OH) 2 @FeOOH electrochemical cell achieves seawater electrolysis of 500 mA cm −2 at 1.80 V cell voltage, resulting in a power consumption of only 4.30 (kWh m −3 H 2 ). The voltage of the anion exchange membrane electrolyzer remains stable after 600 h of continuous operation at 500 mA cm −2 . The calculated gasoline-equivalent (GGE) per gallon of H 2 is as low as $0.96. This work emphasizes the synergistic effect of multilayer electrodes and anions. and provides a potential catalyst for commercialization.

The regeneration of oral tissues is a challenging clinical problem because of the complex microbial and biological stress environments. Electrospun fibrous scaffolds have attracted significant interest as effective barrier membranes for guided bone regeneration (GBR); however, no mature strategy yet exists for the surface modification of fibers to provide versatility to satisfy clinical requirements. This study demonstrated a practical biosafety strategy: the combined use of plant polyphenols and LL-37 peptides to modify the fiber surface to endow the fibrous scaffold with antimicrobial activity, immunoregulation, and vascularized bone regeneration. We confirmed that the LL-37 peptides interacted with tannic acid (TA) through noncovalent bonds through experiments and molecular docking simulation analysis. In vitro experiments showed that the TA coating imparted strong antibacterial properties to the fibrous scaffold, but it also caused cytotoxicity. The grafting of LL-37 peptide promoted the spreading, migration, and osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells and was also conducive to the M2 polarization of RAW264.7 cells. In vivo experiments further verified that the LL-37 peptide-grafted fibrous scaffold significantly enhanced angiogenesis, anti-inflammatory effects, and type-H vascularized bone regeneration. Overall, the fibrous scaffold modified by the LL-37 peptide through TA grafting has significant potential for GBR applications.

Solar-energy-driven CO 2 conversion into valuable chemical fuels holds great renewable potential. However, most photocatalysts' weak CO 2 adsorption limits more artificial photosynthesis for further utilization. Herein, we present an in situ assembling approach to produce stable Cs 2 AgBiBr 6 /Ce-UiO-66-H composite, in which a tight contact interface between the two participated components was constructed. Benefiting from the photocatalytic properties and high adsorption capacity for CO 2 , the optimized 20Cs 2 AgBiBr 6 /Ce-UiO-66-H adsorption-photocatalyst exhibits outstanding performance for reductive CO 2 deoxygenation with considerable CO generation rate (309.01 μmol g −1 h −1 ) under simulated solar light irradiation with 300 W Xe lamp, which is about 2.1 and 2.7 times than that of pure Cs 2 AgBiBr 6 and Ce-UiO-66-H, respectively. The excellent catalytic conversion of CO 2 is ascribed to the effective solar harvest and quickly photo-excited carriers’ separation in such assembled architecture. Importantly, due to the in-situ synthesis, Cs 2 AgBiBr 6 QDs are intercalated in the Ce-UiO-66-H frameworks and it could lead to improved stability and induce abundant oxygen vacancies in Cs 2 AgBiBr 6 /Ce-UiO-66-H, which can maintain unchangeable CO 2 conversion rate under wet air with consecutive ten hours of the recycling test. In this work, the combining metal–organic frameworks and lead-free halide perovskite provide great potential for artificial photocatalytic CO 2 -to-CO conversion under a mild gas–solid reaction condition via utilizing solar energy.

The activation and transformation of inert alkyl C(sp3)−H bonds to obtain high-value fine chemicals by sustainable solar energy are of great significance. Herein, by incorporating IrIII–porphyrin into metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) to stabilize the highly active carbene, we reported a new approach to combining metallo- and photocatalysis to efficiently accelerate carbene migratory insertion and C–H bond activation via the radical coupling pathway for inert alkane functionalization. The in situ-formed carbene was restricted into the pores of MOFs to produce IrIII–carbene, allowing the first-time isolation and structural characterization of the IrIII–carbene intermediate which are not stabilized by a heteroatom. The product of the reaction, especially the cyclic ethers as substrates, suggested that the functionalization of the α position of the alkoxy group was favored. Additionally, the new approach could be extended to stabilize the metal carbene intermediates to realize C(sp3)−H bond alkylation and arylation.
