With the development of the internet of things technology, sensors have played an important role in aerospace, industry, agriculture, medical and other fields. Especially in the aspect of wearable respiratory monitoring, real-time monitoring of multiple respiratory physiological parameters through intelligent sensors enable people to achieve early prevention and timely diagnosis of respiratory diseases. However, most of the humidity sensors have the disadvantages of poor permeability, long response time and narrow detection range. Therefore, this paper introduced a flexible humidity sensor with a wide detection range and fast response time for respiratory monitoring. The sensor used PEDOT:PSS-GO composite material as humidity sensitive material. Due to the addition of GO, the sensor had a wide linear detection range of humidity (35–80%RH) and a short response/recovery time (0.53/0.8 s). Moreover, the sensor used the micromesh structure of PI as the substrate, which had better flexibility and permeability and the sensor was easy to attach to complex surfaces such as masks or human skin. Based on these excellent sensing characteristics, the humidity sensor was connected with a miniature wireless communication component for human respiratory detection. The humidity sensor can clearly show the difference between normal and abnormal respiratory signals and this provided a new idea for the intelligent healthcare technology.

Driven by sustainable development strategies, bio-based polyesters have received significant attention due to renewable bio-derived monomers and various unique properties. In this study, a series of high molecular weight bio-based poly(ethylene- co -2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutylene thiophenedicarboxylate) (PETTh) copolyesters on the basis of an emerging bio-derived aromatic diacid, 2,5-thiophenedicarboxylic acid (TDCA), was synthesized by a conventional two-step melt polycondensation method. Copolymers were random copolyesters with weight-average molecular weights ( M w ) in the range from 65,400 to 84,100 g/mol. Their comprehensive properties, including thermal transition properties, thermal stability, mechanical properties, gas barrier properties, as well as optical transparency were systematically investigated. Rigid 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol (CBDO) cyclic diol contributed a positive effect to thermal resistance, leading to the glass transition temperature ( T g ) growing from 65.3 °C of PETh to 85.3 °C of PET 42 Th. Furthermore, the mechanical properties, gas barrier properties and optical transparency were improved as diol segment was incorporated. Especially, all copolyesters displayed great ductility with elongation at break between 54 and 195 %. Meanwhile, the gas barrier properties of copolyesters were 3.9-fold to 16.3-fold for CO 2 and 3.0-fold to 6.0-fold for O 2 better than PET. Therefore, PETTh copolyesters might potentially substitute for commercial PET and they are extremely suitable for food packaging materials.

Polymerization confined to the pore was first adapted for the nanoscale structure adjustment of adsorption resin. The self-cross-linked polymer (P-1) formed in the pore of hyper-cross-linked resin (HR) by the Friedel–Crafts reaction of p-dichloroxylene (p-DCX), occupying the macropore of the HR resin and bringing about an external micropore. Compared with the raw HR resin, the volume of the micropore of HR@P-1 in 0.4 < D < 1 nm increased but the volume of the macropore has obviously decreased. After the loading of P-1 in the nanopore of HR, HR@P-1 has better gas adsorption performance. At 298 and 100 KPa, the adsorption capacity of CO2 is almost 30% higher than that of HR, reaching 35.7 cm3/g, due to the increase in the smaller micropore volume. Moreover, HR@P-1 has also been found to be the first C2H6-selective adsorption resin. The uptake of C2H6 is up to 56 cm3/g, and the IAST selectivity of C2H6/CH4 reaches 15.3. HR@P-1 can also separate syngas efficiently at ambient temperature and be regenerated by simple vacuum operation.

To preserve the structural and interfacial integrity of diamond, diamond/SiC composites were fabricated by Si infiltration under gas flow guidance. The characteristics of these materials are significantly affected by the interfacial reaction between Si and diamond. The interface formation was studied extensively by locally analyzing the microstructure of the interfacial regions via transmission electron microscopy (TEM), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results demonstrated that the extent of reactive erosion of diamond by Si weakened as the gas velocity increased during the infiltration process. Nanocrystalline Si 5 C 3 and β-SiC grains with an orientation relationship were observed at the diamond/SiC interface. Furthermore, by employing gas flow guidance, the diamond/SiC composites exhibited a better specific stiffness, measuring up to 183.3 × 10 6 m 2 s −2 , which represents an exceptional 18 % improvement compared with the control group.

) sensor was developed via introducing fumaric acid (FA) into poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA) by thiol-ene click cross-linking reaction. The iontronic sensor could solve the sensitivity deterioration in high humidity conditions of conventional electronic-based chemoresistive gas sensors. The optimized sensor performs a high response of 24.98 to 50 ppm NH

among various interfering gas species. Through the use of quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) measurement and complex impedance spectroscopy (CIS), the humidity-activated NH

Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have a wide range of applications in energy storage power stations. However, thermal runaway of LIBs can lead to serious safety accidents and cause significant losses. Therefore, it is particularly important to carry out early security warning of LIBs. And H 2 is generated along with the growth of lithium dendrites , which can serve as an effective indicator for detecting LIBs before TR. In this paper, In 2 O 3 /NiO nanocomposites were prepared, and five groups of samples were systematically prepared by adjusting the molar ratio of In and Ni. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and other test methods were used to characterize the prepared nanocomposites. Through experiments, the best samples among several groups of samples were determined. When the test gas is introduced, the resistance change of this optimal sensor is the greatest, indicating the best performance, which is significantly better than pure In 2 O 3 and pure NiO samples. Furthermore, compared to other gases, this nanocomposite sensor exhibits significant selectivity towards H 2 . The results show that In 2 O 3 /NiO is a promising candidate material for room temperature H 2 detection, and provide suggestions for the development of gas sensors with heterogeneous structures.

This study introduces a methylamine gas sensor based on a composite material of halide metal perovskite (MAPbBr3) and the aggregation-induced emission (AIE) material (S)-OBN-tCz. Using electrospinning technology, superhydrophobic MAPbBr3&(S)-OBN-tCz@PMMA nanofibers were fabricated to enhance the specific surface area and stability of the sensing unit. The sensor exhibits high selectivity toward methylamine gas, enabling precise detection across a broad concentration range and demonstrating excellent repeatability. Additionally, the incorporation of AIE material has successfully improved the signal intensity of optical sensors through Förster resonance energy transfer mechanism and passivation effect, thereby effectively enhancing the sensitivity of sensors.

An attempt was made to explore the relationship between the gas sensing performance of ZnSnO3 thin films and their intrinsic charge carrier behaviors. ZnSnO3 films with miscellaneous electrical characteristics were obtained by the combination of like-chemical oxygen control, fluorine doping, and like-physical light conditioning. The microstructure, morphology, optical transparency, electrical characteristics, and gas sensing performance were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, ultraviolet spectrophotometer, Hall effect apparatus, and electrochemical testing system, respectively. The results show that through F–O coregulation, the carrier concentration of ZnSnO3 thin films was increased from 1017 to 1018 cm–3, the sensitivity was increased from 0.09 to 0.26, the response/recovery time was reduced from 165 s/153 s to 129 s/110 s, and the optimal operating temperature was lowered to 280 °C. The irradiation of simulating solar intentionally enhanced the carrier concentration, which significantly increased the sensitivity to 31.16 and greatly reduced the response/recovery time to 79 s/68 s. The minimum limit of detection concentration has been reduced to 2 ppm for dense and simple film, and even the minimum operating temperature has been drastically lowered to room temperature. For various derivated carriers with different concentrations, the mechanism of depletion and accumulation on the gas-sensitive response is proposed.

Tin dioxide (SnO2)-based electronic materials and gas sensors have attracted extensive attention from academia and industry. Herein we report the preparation of two-dimensional (2D) porous SnO2 flakes by thermal oxidation of 2D SnS flakes that serve as a self-sacrificial template. An oxidation-enabled, temperature-dependent matter conversion from SnS through three-phase SnS–SnS2–SnO2 (400 °C) and two-phase SnS2–SnO2 (600 °C) to pure-phase SnO2 (≥800 °C) is disclosed by means of combined XRD, TG-DSC and XPS studies. Meanwhile, the associated chemical reactions and the mass and heat changes during this solid-state conversion process are clarified. The as-prepared 2D SnO2 flakes exhibit structural porosity with tunable pore sizes and crystallite sizes/crystallinity, resulting in superior potential for NO2 sensing. At the optimized operating temperature of 200 °C, the prototype gas sensors made of porous SnO2 flakes show competitive sensing parameters in a broad NO2 concentration range of 50 ppb–10 ppm in terms of high response, faster response/recovery speeds, and good selectivity and stability. A sensing mechanism involving the adsorption and desorption of NO2/O2 molecules and the possible surface reactions is further rationalized for the SnO2 NO2 gas sensors.

Pesticides are widely used in commercial goji Lycium barbarum cultivation to prevent damage of the delicate fruits by insects, potentially leading to insecticide and fungicide residues at levels dangerous to human health. In this study, removal of organophosphorus pesticide (OP) residues (i.e. omethoate and dichlorvos) from the surface of L. barbarum was conducted using a gas phase surface discharge (GPSD) plasma system. ICCD and GC–MS measurements showed that a homogeneous and uniform GPSD glow-like plasma could be achieved and the efficiency of OP residues degradation greatly depended on the applied voltage and plasma exposure time, with 99.55% and 96.83% efficiency recorded for omethoate and dichlorvos (DDVP), respectively after 30 min GPSD plasma exposure at the discharge voltage of 10 kV. FT-IR and chemical analysis of the intermediates produced during GPSD exposure revealed that the omethoate and DDVP molecules could be completely degraded into nontoxic species, at the appropriate dosage of GPSD plasma exposure, without compromising the quality of L. barbarum . Based on the experimental and simulation results, a mechanism of OP degradation attributed to energetic electrons and highly reactive species generated by GPSD plasma was proposed.

Graphical Just touching base : New carbon molecular sieve (CMS) membranes are fabricated with the use of a Tröger's base (TB)-based microporous polyimide as the polymer precursor, and their gas-separation performance is investigated. The comprehensive gas-separation performance of the TB–CMS membranes is improved relative to that of most state-of-the-art CMS membranes derived from common polyimides reported so far. Carbon molecular sieve (CMS)-based membranes have attracted great attention because of their outstanding gas-separation performance. The polymer precursor is a key point for the preparation of high-performance CMS membranes. In this work, a microporous polyimide precursor containing a Tröger's base unit was used for the first time to prepare CMS membranes. By optimizing the pyrolysis procedure and the soaking temperature, three TB–CMS membranes were obtained. Gas-permeation tests revealed that the comprehensive gas-separation performance of the TB–CMS membranes was greatly enhanced relative to that of most state-of-the-art CMS membranes derived from polyimides reported so far.

Materials hybrided by organic and inorganic partners via chemical bonds formation are able to display stable and multi-functional behaviors. Then, the versatile sensing platform could be established depending on their specific chemical and physical properties. In this research paper, we prepared the fluorescence materials (POSS-PDB and POSS-NTB) by a simple method. Among of them, POSS-NTB was verified as a mesoporous material with a narrowed pore diameter around 17 nm and the large Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area of 227 m 2 /g. Then, the solid powder of POSS-NTB was selected and evidenced as effective gas sensor toward CO 2 , N 2 and O 2 at 273 K under 1 atm pressure. Additionally, these fluorescence materials could be successfully applied as a pH sensor in the solution phase. Through combining biocompatible POSS and fluorescent molecules, POSS-NTB could enter into the cells and aggregate in the cytoplasm successfully.
