The rapid development of flexible electronic technology has led to the in-depth study of flexible wearable sensors to achieve accurate sensing under different external stimuli. However, it is still a huge challenge to develop hydrogel-based wearable skin-like sensors with super ductility, high sensitivity, and self-healing properties. Herein, the Ti3C2 type of MXene was synthesized, and the Ag/MXene nanocomplexes were incorporated into polyvinyl alcohol-borax matrix to construct a novel composite hydrogel as the multifunctional nanofillers, which could bring both improved properties and novel functionalities. The Ag/MXene-Poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) hydrogel displayed integrated merits of highly strain sensitive (GF = 3.26), self-healing (within 10 min, 91% healing efficiency), and excellent antibacterial activity. The hydrogel could be assembled into a wearable skin-like sensor to monitor human movement, including large deformations (finger, elbow, wrist, and knee bending) and tiny deformations (mouth’s movement and throat vocalization) in real time. Therefore, this work shed a new light on the development of flexible wearable skin-like sensors for the personalized healthcare monitoring, human–machine interfaces, and artificial intelligence.

The mechanism and application of localized surface plasmon resonance induced photocatalytic reactions remain an issue of interest. In this work, we used Au@Ag core–shell nanorods as a platform for plasmon-driven photocatalysis, which was in situ investigated by surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectroscopy. The para-aminothiophenol (PATP) and para-nitrothiophenol (PNTP) adsorbed on the nanorods were irradiated with different excitation wavelengths (633 nm, 785 nm) and transformed into 4,4′-dimercaptoazobenzene (DMAB) as evidenced by the emerging Raman peaks at 1142 cm−1, 1390 cm−1, 1440 cm−1, and 1477 cm−1, corresponding to hot carrier dominated oxidation of PATP and reduction of PNTP. Preliminary azo-reaction kinetics and in situ SERS measurements were conducted by comparing the relative intensity ratio of SERS peaks at 1440 cm−1 (DMAB stretching of NN) and 1080 cm−1 (C–S stretching of PATP and PNTP). These results indicate that the catalytic efficiency was dominated by the excitation wavelength as well as the resonance condition between the plasmon band of the nanorods and the excitation line. As a proof of concept, the Au@Ag core–shell nanorods were used to catalyze 4-nitrophenol molecules, and 4-hydroxyazobenzene molecules as the product were confirmed by in situ SERS spectra as well theoretical predictions, showing potential in plasmon driven catalysis and degradation of organic molecules.

Rational design of photoelectrode with high visible light utilization rate and separation efficiency of electron-hole pairs is the key step in photoelectrocatalytic technology. In this work, Z-Scheme photoelectrocatalyst (ZTO/rGO/Ag/AgBr) was synthesized by hydrothermal and photo-reduction process. Comparing with pure Zn 2 SnO 4 (ZTO), adding reduced graphene oxide (rGO) effectively improved electrons transfer efficiency. Notably, the addition of Ag/AgBr not only broaden the visible light response range of ZTO, but also accelerated the separation of photo-generated electron-hole pairs, and constructed all-solid-state Z-Scheme heterojunction . Meanwhile, DFT calculation showed that Ag metal on rGO surface could act as active site for organic dyes degradation . Moreover, the addition of extra bias potential during photoelectrochemical process not only accelerate the migration of carriers, but also inhibit the recombination of photo-generated electron-hole pairs. Methylene blue (MB) could be effectively removed during photoelectrochemical reaction process, which was attributed to hydroxyl radical (•OH) and superoxide radical (•O 2 - ). In this work, Z-Scheme transfer pathway, assisted photoelectrocatalytic technology, is a feasible strategy for improving catalytic performance.

Tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) was one of the most widely used brominated flame retardants. However, it easily contaminates nature and harms the environment and human health during its production and use. Therefore, it is necessary to strictly control the content of TBBPA in electronics. Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy has the advantages of being fast and sensitive, but it is difficult to obtain the SERS spectra of TBBPA because the hydrophobic TBBPA molecule is difficult to approach with the hydrophilic surface of common noble metal SERS substrates. In the present work, a hydrophobic Cu-Ag chip was developed for the SERS detection of TBBPA. The integration of the hydrophobic interaction and the Ag-Br bonding promoted the adsorption of TBBPA on the Cu-Ag chip, allowing for SERS detection. It was observed that both the hydrophobicity and bimetallic composition of the Cu-Ag chip played important roles in the SERS detection of TBBPA. Under the optimized conditions, the low limit of detection of the established SERS method for TBBPA was 0.01 mg L−1, within a linear range of 0.1–10 mg L−1. Combined with ultrasonic-assisted extraction, the substrate could be used for the quantitative determination of TBBPA in electronic products. Compared with the HPLC-UV method used as a national standard, the relative error of the SERS method for quantifying the TBBPA content in a mouse cable and shell was ±3% and ±7.7%, respectively. According to the SERS results, the recovery of TBBPA in the spiked mouse shell was 95.6%.Keywords:tetrabromobisphenol A;surface-enhanced Raman scattering;hydrophobic interaction;bi-metal chips;synergistic coupling

Isoporous membranes from a process coupling the self-assembly of block copolymer with nonsolvent-induced phase separation (SNIPS) could enhance both the permeability and selectivity due to the high pore density and uniform pore sizes. Whereas, it is difficult to precipitate PAA based block copolymer in nonsolvent to make membranes because PAA blocks are hydrophilic. Herein, isoporous PS 678 - b -PAA 180 membranes were well prepared after reinforced by multiwalled carbon nanotubes decorated with silver nanoparticles (MWCNT-Ag). Such composite membranes bear not only regular channels with an effective pore diameter of ca. 18.85 nm, but also high water permeance of 1770.35 L bar −1 m −2 h −1 . With the participation of carbon nanotubes, the PS- b -PAA isoporous membrane exhibits excellent photothermal conversion properties, which endows the membrane with an efficiency of ca. 10.6 kg m −2 h −1 for light energy-driven seawater desalination and wastewater purification. Moreover, the silver particle-decorated CNTs enable the membrane to be antibacterial, which ensures reliability in long-term application.

Summary Recently, the technology of employing phase change materials (PCMs) for solar energy storage has grown more magnetic due to the focus of various latent heat storage investigations to solve the energy crisis. In this work, a novel and eco-friendly shape-stable phase change material based on a biological matrix was prepared through vacuum impregnation, which used porous carbon as a support substrate from Cyperus alternifolius (CA), polyethylene glycol (PEG) as the phase change medium, and silver nanoparticles attached to the matrix as the reinforcement factor. The superior porous structure of CA allows it to have a high loading rate of PEG. The multifunctionality of silver nanoparticles can increase the thermal conductivity of the bio-based shape-stable phase change material (BSPCM) up to 0.676 W/(m K), while also boosting its photo-thermal conversion efficiency to 82.7%. Furthermore, the Ag@BSPCM has an excellent melting enthalpy of 137.3 J/g, as well as outstanding thermal stability and reliability. Additionally, the great photo-to-thermal conversion efficiency of Ag@BSPCM (82.7%) and the significant anti-leakage capability bodes well for its future application. This demonstrates the prepared Ag@BSPCM proves its feasibility for thermal energy storage management and photo-thermal conversion.

Uracil-DNA glycosylase (UDG) is a common glycosylase that can expressly recognize and remove damaged uracil bases, and the ultrasensitive detection of which is significant to maintain genomic stability and early clinical diagnosis of disease. Herein, we proposed a sensitive colorimetric sensing platform to detect UDG. Combined with target-manipulated drawstring DNAzyme and [email protected] nanorods ( [email protected] NRs) indicator, we achieved in naked-eyes observation and ultrasensitive detection of UDG. Briefly, when the UDG exists, the dynamic reaction of rope pulling will occur generating the active conformation of DNAzyme. The cutting effect will be further produced when we add Mg 2+ , thus the generated trigger chain can mediate the occurrence of CHA reaction, followed by generating amount of ·OH which can etch [email protected] NRs causing the shifted of localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) peak. By contrast, there is no obvious shift of LSPR peak. This strategy shows extraordinary specificity and sensitivity toward UDG providing a detection limit of 4.6 × 10 −5 U mL −1 . By using of this method, we detected UDG specifically in complex samples, proving that it’s potential applications in biomedical research and clinical diagnosis are fantastic.

Controlled synthesis of noble-metal nanoframes is of great interest due to their promising applications in plasmonics and catalysis. However, the synthesis is largely limited to a multiple-step approach involving selective deposition followed by selective etching. Here we report a facile and general strategy to synthesize Au–Ag nanoframes based on a direct galvanic replacement reaction between Ag nanoparticles and a gold(I) complex, sodium aurothiosulfate, without an extra etching process. The formation of Au–Ag nanoframes in our approach undergoes a continuous concaving and hollowing-out process from Ag templates, which is related to selective Au deposition and the Kirkendall effect. As a proof-of-concept, it was shown that Au–Ag nanoframes with different dimensions can be prepared from the corresponding Ag nanocolloids using our strategy. The prepared wire-like Au–Ag nanoframes show superior single-particle surface-enhanced Raman scattering due to the linear narrow nanogaps within the nanoframes. We believe this study signifies a new approach by mediating galvanic replacement to prepare noble-metal nanoframes with precise controllability, which may enable a variety of applications in plasmonics and catalysis.

The fabrication of thin composite films incorporating metal-based fillers with a delicate structure to achieve high electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness (EMI SE) at low metal content remains a great challenge. In this work, benefiting from the excellent electrical conductivity of Ag nanoparticles, Ag nanoparticle-coated polystyrene (PS@Ag) microspheres with a large PS core were selected as electrically conductive fillers, and the volume exclusion effect guaranteed the construction of an electrically conductive network with low silver loading. A spontaneous process to construct a segregated laminar structure with a three-dimensional electrically conductive network happened with the assistance of a gravity-driven effect. The flexible thin films with a low amount of silver exhibited outstanding EMI SE per unit thickness (SE/d). To further investigate the effect of the structure on the EMI SE efficiency, it is found that the alternate interfaces play a critical role in enhancing shielding performance by stacking multiple films compared to the bulk films obtained by casting. The EMI SE for an only 0.3 mm triple-piece stacking film with 6.3 wt % Ag loading could reach 55.3 dB compared to 37.2 dB for the triple-thickness casting film. Using the stacking process results in easy accessibility for tailored composites with the desired EMI SE, which supplies a new strategy for the design of shielding materials in the next-generation electronics.

The selective and effective conversion of CO2into available chemicals by electrochemical methods was applied as a promising way to mitigate the environment and energy crisis. Metal silver is regarded as an efficient electrocatalyst that can selectively convert CO2into CO at room temperature. In this paper, a series of coral-like porous Ag (CD-Ag) catalysts were fabricated by calcining silver-carbonaceous microsphere (Ag/CM) precursors with different Ag content and the formation mechanism of CD-Ag catalysts was proposed involving the Ag precursor reduction and CM oxidation. In the selective electrocatalytic reduction of CO2to CO, the catalyst 15 CD-Ag showed a stable current density at −6.3 mA/cm2with a Faraday efficiency (FE) of ca. 90% for CO production over 5 h in −0.95 V vs. RHE. The excellent performance of the 15 CD-Ag catalysts is ascribed to the special surface chemical state and the particular nano-coral porous structure with uniformly distributed Ag particles and pore structure, which can enhance the electrochemical active surface areas (ECSA) and provide more active sites and porosity compared with other CD-Ag catalysts and even Ag foil. Keywords:carbon dioxide reduction;silver;carbonaceous microsphere;carbon monoxide;electrochemical

Copper nanoclusters (CuNCs) with bright blue-emitting fluorescence have been synthesized via a simple one-pot process using 2-mercapto-1-methylimidazole (MMI) as a stabilizer. The as-prepared MMI-CuNCs exhibited a high quantum yield of 19.2%, a long luminescence lifetime of 10.57 μs, and excellent photostability. Significantly, the fluorescence intensities of MMI-CuNCs were effectively quenched with addition of Ag+ ions, and the MMI-stabilized CuNCs were developed as a sensitive fluorescent nanoprobe for the label-free determination of silver ions for the first time. The fluorescence sensor provided a fast linear response toward Ag+ in the range of 0.025–50 μM, with a detection limit of 6.7 nM. The fluorescence quenching mechanism was ascribed to an agglomeration-induced effect and static quenching. A fluorescence sensing platform was successfully applied for Ag+ detection in human serum samples with good accuracy and high reproducibility, signifying the practical applicability of the assay. Additionally, MMI-CuNCs displayed good solid-state blue emission and are suitable for security ink applications. The MMI-CuNCs were utilized as a color conversion layer to construct blue- and white-light-emitting diodes (LEDs) with excellent white light properties by a facile combination of MMI-CuNCs and UV LED chips. This result facilitates multiple functions of MMI-CuNCs in the application of label-free sensors, anticounterfeiting, and optical devices.

Visible light response PAN@Ag-Ag2O/Sch (PAN@AS, schwertmannite and polyacrylonitrile abbreviated as Sch and PAN) nanofibers with different mass ratios were synthesized by electrospinning technology and pH-induced precipitation reaction. X-Ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy analysis showed that the formation of Ag-Ag2O/Sch heterojunction and Ag-Ag2O nanoparticles were evenly distributed on the surface of Sch. The prepared nanofibers have high oxidative removal performance for As(III) under visible light. In the PAN@AS0.10 system, the total As removal percent can reach 90.96% after 120 min irradiation at pH 4.0. The scavenger experiments confirmed that the main active substances of the PAN@AS0.10 system were h+ and •OH. The high oxidation and removal performance of the PAN@AS0.10 composite for As(III) was attributed to the effective separation of photogenerated electron-hole pairs and high adsorption capacity of Sch for As under acidic conditions. This research provides a new material for the oxidation and removal of pollutants in water [such as As(III)] and also provides a research basis for the preparation of recyclable photocatalysts.
