10-[ 11 C]methoxy-20(S)-camptothecin was synthesized automatically. The radiochemical yield was 30%–50% (all calculated at EOB, n =20) with [ 11 C]methyl triflate as a methylating agent. The radiochemical purity was greater than 96%, and the specific activity was 8.72±2.18 GBq/μmoL at EOS . Biodistribution showed that 10-[ 11 C]methoxy-20(S)-camptothecin is characterized by quick clearance from the blood and by significant uptake in the liver (5.72±1.92% ID/g at 15 min), intestines (2.43±0.38% ID/g at 15 min), and kidney (1.57±0.85% ID/g at 15 min). Micro-PET imaging clearly showed high radioactivity accumulation in liver, intestines and bladder, indicating that the primary modes of excretion of the radiotracer are through the hepatobiliary system and, to a lesser extent, through the renal system.

Azide–alkyne click polymerization is generally catalyzed by the Cu(I) complex, in which the removal of metallic residues after reaction remains challengeable. In this work, a metal-free click polymerization method was developed to avoid this problem. The diazide monomers (9 and 10) could readily react with aromatic and aliphatic dipropiolates (1 and 2) under simple heating to produce functional poly(aroxycarbonyltriazole)s (PACTs), a kind of polyester, with high molecular weights (Mw up to 23 500) and regioregularities (fraction of 1,4-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazole in polymers up to ∼90%) in excellent yields (up to ∼99%). The metal-free click polymerization also propagates smoothly in an open atmosphere without protection from oxygen and moisture. The PACTs are thermally stable, with 5% loss of their weights at temperatures higher than 335 °C. Thanks to the contained ester groups, the polymers can be rapidly degraded in the presence of potassium hydroxide aqueous solution. The PACT containing tetraphenylethene units exhibits a unique feature of aggregation-induced emission and can function as a fluorescent chemosensor to detect explosives in a superamplified manner.

Constructing heteroatom-doped porous carbons with distinct charge storage properties is significant for high-energy–density supercapacitors, yet it remains a formidable challenge. Herein, we employed a thiocyanogen-modulated alkali activation strategy to synthesize N and S co-doped lignin hierarchical porous carbon (NSLHPC). In this process, thiocyanogen serves as a surface modulation mediator to substitute oxygen with nitrogen and sulfur species, while the combination of KOH activation and MgO template generates numerous nanopores within the carbon structure. The three-dimensional interconnected nanosheet architecture facilitates rapid ion transfer and enhances accessibility to active sites. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations demonstrate that introducing N and S heteroatoms through oxygen substitution reduces the adsorption energy barrier of Zn 2+ . Consequently, the optimized NSLHPC exhibits a remarkable specific capacitance of 438F/g at 0.5 A/g in 6 M KOH, delivering an energy density of 10.4 Wh/kg in the symmetric supercapacitor and an impressive energy density of 104.9 Wh/kg in the zinc-ion hybrid capacitor. The NSLHPC cathode also shows an excellent lifespan with capacitance retention of 99.0 % and Columbic efficiency of 100 % over 10,000 cycles. This study presents innovative strategies for engineering high-performance porous carbon electrode materials by emphasizing pore structure modulation and N, S co-doping as crucial approaches.

Pt-based bimetallic catalysts have gained more and more attention in propane dehydrogenation (PDH), but still suffer from the high cost and poor stability. In this work, a PtCu@S-1 catalyst with an extremely low loading of Pt (0.047 wt%) is prepared by in-situ hydrothermal synthesis and employed in PDH. An excellent productivity (propylene yield: 471.8 molC 3 H 8 ⋅ g Pt -1 ⋅ h −1 ) is achieved at 600 °C with a weight hour space velocity of 25.80 h −1 . After 50 h of reaction at 600 ℃, 0.047Pt0.19Cu@S-1 catalyst still remains sinter-free, with a deactivation rate of only 0.006 h −1 . Various characterizations show that Cu 0 co-existed with Pt 0 in PtCu@S-1 catalyst plays an important role, greatly improved catalyst reactivity and stability. At high weight hour space velocity (44.5 h −1 ), the propylene productivity can reach 1056.4 molC 3 H 8 ⋅ g Pt -1 ⋅ h −1 . This work provides a new way for the design of extremely low Pt-loaded PDH catalysts with excellent performance at high temperatures.

Electrolysis of seawater for hydrogen (H2) production to harvest clean energy is an appealing approach. In this context, there is an urgent need for catalysts with high activity and durability. RuO2 electrocatalysts have shown efficient activity in the hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions (HER and OER), but they still suffer from poor stability. Herein, surface S-doped nanostructured RuO2 (S-RuO2) is rationally fabricated for efficient overall seawater splitting. Doping with S enhances the activity (overpotentials of 25 mV for the HER and 243 mV for the OER), long-term durability (1000 h at 100 mA cm–2), and achieves nearly 100% Faraday efficiency (FE). Moreover, the S-RuO2-based anion exchange membrane seawater electrolyzer requires 2.01 V to reach 1.0 A cm–2 under demanding industrial conditions. Experimental analysis and theoretical calculations indicate that surface S introduction could lower the valence state of Ru, thereby conferring enhanced activity and stability. Furthermore, the nanostructured S-RuO2 electrocatalyst is highly protected by the S-doped surface, which repels Cl– in alkaline seawater. This investigation presents a feasible strategy for designing RuO2-based seawater splitting catalysts with both high performance and good resistance to anodic corrosion.

Photocatalytic technology is of great significance in environmental purification due to its eco-friendly and cost-effective operations. However, low charge-transfer efficiency restricts the photocatalytic activity of the catalyst. Herein, we report Cs 2 SnBr 6 /C 3 N 4 composite catalysts that exhibit a robust interfacial electron exchange thereby enhancing photocatalytic nitric oxide (NO) oxidation . A comprehensive study has demonstrated the S-scheme electron transfer mechanism. Benefiting from the interfacial internal electric field , the C-Br bond serves as a direct electron transfer channel, resulting in enhanced charge separation. Furthermore, the S-scheme heterojunction effectively traps high redox potential electrons and holes, leading to the production of abundant reactive oxygen radicals that enhance photocatalytic NO abatement. The NO removal rate of the Cs 2 SnBr 6 /C 3 N 4 heterogeneous system can reach 86.8 %, which is approximately 3-fold and 18-fold that of pristine C 3 N 4 and Cs 2 SnBr 6 , respectively. The comprehensive understanding of the electron transfer between heterojunction atomic interfaces will provide a novel perspective on efficient environmental photocatalysis .

Developing effective photocatalysts to achieve stable and efficient solar-induced hydrogen production remains a significant challenge due to rapid photocarrier recombination and sluggish hydrogen evolution kinetics. Here, a multi-interfacial engineering strategy involving the decoration of metallic Ni 3 C onto CaTiO 3 /Mn 0.5 Cd 0.5 S was proposed to create an S-scheme/Schottky hybrid heterostructure with multiple carrier transport paths for effective photocatalytic H 2 production. Exploiting the synergy between S-scheme heterojunction and Schottky barrier, the engineered ternary CaTiO 3 /Mn 0.5 Cd 0.5 S/Ni 3 C hybrid heterojunction exhibits outstanding photostability and significantly enhanced hydrogen evolution activity of 79.1 mmol g -1 h −1 , which was about 4.55, 3.22 and 2.59 times greater than Mn 0.5 Cd 0.5 S, Mn 0.5 Cd 0.5 S/Ni 3 C, and CaTiO 3 /Mn 0.5 Cd 0.5 S, respectively. By creating an S-scheme heterojunction between CaTiO 3 and Mn 0.5 Cd 0.5 S, accompanied by a robust internal electric field (IEF), spatial charge separation can be effectively accelerated while ensuring the simultaneous preservation of highly active electrons and holes. Meanwhile, Ni 3 C nanoparticles, acting as a Schottky-junction H 2 generation cocatalyst, can efficiently trap the photoinduced electrons to establish multiple charge transfer channels and supply ample active sites for photoreduction reaction, thereby further optimizing the hydrogen generation kinetics. The integration of a Schottky barrier and S-scheme heterojunction in this research is expected to offer new perspectives for designing other highly effective hybrid catalysts for solar-to-hydrogen fuel conversion.

The rational design of nonnoble-metal-based catalysts with high electroactivity and long-term stability, featuring controllable active sites, remains a significant challenge for achieving effective water electrolysis. Herein, a heterogeneous catalyst with a FeCo-S and Ni2P heterostructure (denoted FeCo-S/Ni2P/NF) grown on nickel foam (NF) was synthesized by a solvothermal method and low-temperature phosphorization. The FeCo-S/Ni2P/NF catalyst shows excellent electrocatalytic performance and stability in alkaline solution. The FeCo-S/Ni2P/NF catalyst demonstrates low overpotentials (η) for both the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) (49 mV@10 mA cm–2) and the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) (279 mV@100 mA cm–2). Assembling the FeCo-S/Ni2P/NF catalyst as both cathode and anode in an electrolytic cell for overall water splitting (OWS) needs an ultralow cell voltage of 1.57 V to attain a current density (CD) of 300 mA cm–2. Furthermore, it demonstrates excellent durability, significantly outperforming the commercial Pt/C∥IrO2 system. The results of experiments indicate that the heterostructure and synergistic effect of FeCo-S and Ni2P can significantly enhance conductivity, facilitate mass/ion transport and gas evolution, and expose more active sites, thereby improving the catalytic activity of the electrocatalyst for the OWS. This study provides a rational approach for the development of commercially promising dual-functional electrocatalysts.

The selective oxidation of ammonia nitrogen (NH 4 + -N) to dinitrogen (N 2 ) by persulfates (PS)-based advanced oxidation processes (SR-AOPs) without the input of light or electrons is desired, but presents enormous challenges. In this study, S-doped carbon nanotubes (SCNTs) were prepared via a high-temperature sintering process and used to activate PS for NH 4 + -N oxidation in the presence of magnesium oxide (MgO). Compared with pristine carbon nanotubes (CNTs), SCNTs improved the N 2 selectivity of NH 4 + -N oxidation by SR-AOPs, which was attributed to the lower impedance of SCNTs than that of CNTs, enhancing the direct electron transfer pathway of NH 4 + -N oxidation. In the SCNTs/PS/MgO process, the non-radical pathway dominated the oxidation of NH 4 + -N. When SCNTs/PS/MgO process treated polluted lake water, 84.0% of NH 4 -N removal and 85.8% selectivity towards N 2 were achieved at initial pH of 6, initial NH 4 + -N concentration of 30 mg N/L, SCNTs dosage of 8 g/L, the mass ratios of SCNTs to PS of 1: 1, and reaction time of 60 min, highlighting its potential for practical applications.

Lithium-sulfur batteries (LSBs) have been considered as ideal candidates for next-generation energy storage equipment. However, its development has been hindered by the shuttle effect exhibited by the intermediate lithium polysulfides (LiPSs). To address this problem, covalent organic frameworks (COFs) show great promises as sulfur hosts for LSBs. We devised and synthesized a covalent organic framework (TPAS–TPB–COF) that is rich in redox sites by solution polymerization. The reactive groups in the covalent organic framework nano–channels not only inhibit the shuttling of polysulfides, but also promote the migration of Li ions. Meanwhile, the abundant cavities as well as redox sites in the COF nano–channels achieve a high sulfur loading capacity (∼71 wt%), a strong LiPS adsorption capacity, and facilitate ion diffusion. Based on these advantages, when it is used as a sulfur host for LSBs, our COF system provides a high capacity of 1134 mAh g −1 at 0.2 C (1 C = 1675 mA g −1 ), an outstanding rate capability (560 mAh g −1 at 4 C), and excellent stability.

In this study, the effects of Ginsenoside Rg1 (Rg1), the primary bioactive constituent of Panax ginseng roots, on glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis (GIOP) were examined using a zebrafish model, with a focus on elucidating its underlying mechanisms. Our findings demonstrated that Rg1 treatment inhibited osteoporosis induced by methylprednisolone (PN), as evidenced by increased mineralisation area and integrated optical density in the spine and skull of zebrafish larvae. Rg1 reduced the expression of bglap (an osteogenic marker gene) and increased the expression of traf (an osteoclast marker gene) compared with the PN group. Behavioural analysis revealed that Rg1 alleviated PN-induced hypoactivity, resulting in enhanced motion speed. Furthermore, transcriptome analysis identified 383 genes reversed by Rg1 treatment, with significant enrichment in skeletal system development. KEGG analysis indicated that Rg1 influenced several signalling pathways primarily involved in retinol, fat, protein and lipid metabolism. Several genes related to skeletal system development and retinol metabolism were validated by qRT-PCR. In summary, this study provides scientific evidence for the potential mechanisms of Rg1 in the therapeutic intervention of GIOP, highlighting its promise as a potential pharmacological agent for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.

Nanofiltration (NF) is considered a competitive purification method for acidic stream treatments. However, conventional thin-film composite NF membranes degrade under acid exposures, limiting their applications in industrial acid treatment. For example, wet-process phosphoric acid contains impurities of multivalent metal ions, but NF membrane technologies for impurity removal under harsh conditions are still immature. In this work, we develop a novel strategy of acid-resistant nanofiltration membranes based on interfacial polymerization (IP) of polyethyleneimine (PEI) and cyanuric chloride (CC) with the s-triazine ring. The IP process was optimized by orthogonal experiments to obtain positively charged PEI-CC membranes with a molecular weight cut-off (MWCO) of 337 Da. We further applied it to the approximate industrial phosphoric acid purification condition. In the tests using a mixed solution containing 20 wt% P2O5, 2 g/L Fe3+, 2 g/L Al3+, and 2 g/L Mg2+at 0.7 MPa and 25 °C, the NF membrane achieved 56% rejection of Fe, Al, and Mg and over 97% permeation of phosphorus. In addition, the PEI-CC membrane exhibited excellent acid resistance in the 48 h dynamic acid permeation experiment. The simple fabrication procedure of PEI-CC membrane has excellent acid resistance and great potential for industrial applications.
