概述

甲基纤维素（Methylcellulose，CAS号9004-67-5），平均分子量1万～22万。本品在无水乙醇、乙醚、丙酮等有机溶剂中几乎不溶；在80～90℃热水中迅速分散、溶胀，降温后溶解，形成澄清或微乳白色溶液。其水溶液具有温敏可逆凝胶特性：高温时形成凝胶，降温后恢复为溶液；并具有优良的润湿性、分散性、粘接性、增稠性和乳化性。

本品为经高压灭菌处理的2×浓缩无菌溶液（1.8%），建议工作浓度为1×。使用时加入少量于悬浮培养基中，或按具体实验要求调整用量，以增加培养基粘稠度。所用甲基纤维素原料在2%浓度下粘度不低于450 cps。主要用于美希索体系中的细胞克隆培养、悬浮培养基配制、细胞集落形成及集落分离等科研实验。

本品仅用于科研领域，不适用于临床诊断或其他用途。

Methylcellulose (CAS: 9004-67-5), average molecular weight 10,000–220,000. It is practically insoluble in organic solvents such as anhydrous ethanol, diethyl ether and acetone. It disperses and swells rapidly in hot water at 80–90 ℃ and dissolves upon cooling to form a clear or slightly opalescent solution. Its aqueous solution exhibits thermoreversible gelation: it forms a gel at elevated temperature and reverts to liquid upon cooling. It also possesses excellent wettability, dispersibility, adhesiveness, thickening and emulsifying properties.

This product is an autoclaved sterile 2× concentrated solution (1.8%). The recommended working concentration is 1×. Add an appropriate amount into suspension medium or adjust the dosage according to specific experimental requirements to modulate medium viscosity. The viscosity of the methylcellulose raw material is no less than 450 cP at a concentration of 2%. It is mainly used for research experiments such as cell colony culture in Methocult system, preparation of suspension medium, cell colony formation and colony isolation.
