This product is a sterile stock solution of Nystatin, prepared by dissolving Nystatin in DMSO at a concentration of 50 mg/mL. Nystatin (CAS: 1400-61-9, molecular weight: 926.09) is a polyene antifungal antibiotic containing a conjugated polyene macrolide structure, which exhibits inhibitory activity against yeast and fungi. Its mechanism of action involves binding to ergosterol in the fungal cell membrane, forming transmembrane ion channels that lead to the leakage of essential intracellular contents, thereby exerting its antifungal effects.
