Sucrase (EC 3.2.1.26) is one of the key enzymes involved in carbohydrate digestion and absorption. It hydrolyzes sucrose into its corresponding monosaccharides for uptake by the organism. This kit provides a simple, convenient, and rapid method for detecting plant sucrase activity, suitable for plant tissue samples. The principle is based on 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid (DNS) being reduced to a reddish-brown amino compound when heated with reducing sugars. Within a certain range, the amount of reducing sugars is proportional to the color intensity of the reaction solution. This method is simple to operate, rapid, and has minimal interference from impurities.
