Soil phosphodiesterase (S-PDE, EC 3.1.4.1) is the second most important phosphatase in soil after soil phosphomonoesterase. It plays a significant role in the cycling and metabolism of soil organic phosphorus.
This kit provides a simple, sensitive, and rapid detection method. Soil phosphodiesterase (S-PDE) catalyzes the hydrolysis of bis(4-nitrophenyl) phosphate (BNPP) to produce the yellow product PNP, which has a maximum absorption peak at 405 nm. The S-PDE activity is determined by measuring the rate of increase of PNP at 405 nm.
