Soil α‑L‑arabinofuranosidase (S‑α‑Afa, EC 3.2.1.55) is a glycosidase that hydrolyzes non‑reducing furanose arabinosyl residues. This kit provides a simple, sensitive, and rapid assay method: S‑α‑Afa catalyzes the hydrolysis of the substrate p‑nitrophenyl arabinofuranoside to generate p‑nitrophenol (PNP), which exhibits a characteristic absorption peak at 405 nm. By continuously monitoring the initial linear increase in OD₄₀₅ per unit time (ΔOD₄₀₅/min) in kinetic mode, the enzyme activity of α‑Afa in soil samples can be accurately calculated.
