谷氨酰胺酶（GLS，EC 3.5.1.2）存在于高等动物、某些细菌及植物根中，催化谷氨酰胺水解生成谷氨酸和氨，在氮素代谢（尤其是游离氨含量调节与尿素代谢）中发挥重要调控作用。本试剂盒的测定原理为：GLS催化谷氨酰胺水解生成L-谷氨酸和氨，通过奈氏试剂检测氨的增加速率，即可计算GLS的酶活性。
Glutaminase (GLS, EC 3.5.1.2) is found in higher animals, certain bacteria, and plant roots. It catalyzes the hydrolysis of glutamine to glutamate and ammonia, playing an important regulatory role in nitrogen metabolism, particularly in the regulation of free ammonia content and urea metabolism. The assay principle of this kit is as follows: GLS catalyzes the hydrolysis of glutamine to L‑glutamate and ammonia. The rate of ammonia production is detected using Nessler's reagent, from which the GLS enzyme activity can be calculated.
