皂苷（Saponin）是苷元为三萜或螺旋甾烷类化合物的一类糖苷，主要分布于陆地高等植物中，也少量存在于海星和海参等海洋生物中。 许多中草药如人参、远志、桔梗、甘草、知母和柴胡等的主要有效成分都含有皂苷。有些皂苷还具有抗菌的活性或解热、镇静、抗癌等有价值的生物活性。 测定原理：使用超声波提取样品中的皂苷，利用香草醛-高氯酸显色体系测定总皂苷含量。
Saponins are glycosides whose aglycones are triterpenes or spirostane compounds. They are mainly distributed in terrestrial higher plants and also exist in small amounts in marine organisms such as starfish and sea cucumbers. Many traditional Chinese medicines—such as ginseng, polygala, platycodon, licorice, anemarrhena, and bupleurum—contain saponins as their main active components. Some saponins also exhibit antibacterial, antipyretic, sedative, and anticancer activities, among other valuable biological activities. Determination Principle: Saponins are extracted from samples using ultrasonic extraction, and the total saponin content is determined using a vanillin-perchloric acid colorimetric system.
