Total phenolics are a class of bioactive compounds with antioxidant and free radical‑scavenging functions. This kit employs the Folin‑Ciocalteu method for the determination of total phenolic content. The principle is as follows: Under alkaline conditions, phenolic compounds reduce phosphotungstic‑phosphomolybdic acid to generate a blue compound, which exhibits a characteristic absorption peak at 760 nm. By measuring the absorbance of the reaction solution at this wavelength, the total phenolic content in the sample can be calculated.
