In the present work, physicochemical properties, such as density (ρ), refractive index (nD) and viscosity (η), for six binary systems containing [Cnmim]Cl (Cnmim = 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium; n = 6, 8) and three dipolar aprotic solvents [N-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone, 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidinone and 1,3-dimethyl-3,4,5,6-tetrahydro-2(1H)-pyrimidinone)] were measured at wide composition ranges and temperatures from T = 288.15 to 333.15 K at atmosphere pressure. Moreover, the derived properties, such as excess molar volumes (), apparent molar volumes (Vφ,i), deviations in refractive index (ΔnD), and isobaric thermal expansivity coefficients (αP), were calculated. The Redlich–Kister polynomial equation was fitted to the excess molar volumes and the deviation in refractive index data. The experimental results in this work allow us to discuss the interactions in the mixtures. The physicochemical properties of such systems may be useful for applications of imidazolium-based ionic liquids in the field of chemical engineering.

We studied the physical properties of aqueous solution of four acid functional room temperation ionic liquids based on imidazolium: 1-(3-sulfonic group) propyl-3-methylimidazole hydrosulfate ([PSIM][HSO4]), 1-(3sulfonic group) propyl-3-methylimidazole dihydrogen phosphate
([PSIM][H2PO4]), bis-(3-methyl-1-imidazole) butylidene double hydrosulfate ([DBIM] [HSO4]2, bis-(3-methyl-1-imidazole) butylidene double dihydricphosphate ([DBIM][H2PO4]2). The measurements of acidity, refractive
index, viscosity and electrical conductance were made. The molar conductivity was calculated. The physical properties of aqueous solutions changes with the concentration of aqueous solution, the cation and the anion.

The fundamental physical properties including density, viscosity, refractive index and relative permittivity , have been measured for binary mixtures of exo -tetrahydrodicyclopentadiene (JP-10) with four octane isomers ( n -octane, 3-methylheptane, 2,4-dimethylhexane and 2,2,4-trimethylpentane) over the whole composition range at temperatures T = (293.15 to 313.15) K and pressure p = 0.1 MPa. The values of excess molar volume V m E , viscosity deviation (Δ η ), refractive index deviation (Δ n D ) and relative permittivity deviation (Δ ε r ) are then calculated. All of the values of V m E and Δ η are observed to be negative, while those of Δ n D and Δ ε r are close to zero. The effects of temperature and composition on the variation of V m E values are discussed. The negative values of V m E and Δ η are conductive to high-density and low-resistance of fuels, which is favorable for the design and preparation of advanced hydrocarbon fuels.
