The surface tensions ( γ ) and viscosities ( η ) of 1-dimethylamino-2-propanol (DMA2P) − 1-(2-aminoethyl)piperazine (AEP) and DMA2P − 1,5-diamino-2-methylpentane (DAMP) were measured and correlated. According to the CO 2 capture temperature from the thermal power plant flue gas (around 313 K), the experimental temperatures were selected to be 303.2 K, 313.2 K and 323.2 K. The mass fractions of DMA2P ranged from 0.300 to 0.500, and those for activators (AEP and DAMP) ranged from 0.050 to 0.150. Temperature and composition dependences of γ and η were demonstrated on the basis of experiments and calculations. The activation energy ( E a) was estimated from the temperature dependence of viscosity. Analytical formulations of surface entropy ( S S ) and surface enthalpy ( H S ) were deduced from the analytical equation of γ . S S and H S were calculated and their variations with respect to mass fraction were analyzed.
The surface tensions (γ) of 2-diethylaminoethanol (DEAE)–tetramethylammonium glycinate ([N 1111 ][Gly]), DEAE–1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium glycinate ([Bmim][Gly]) and DEAE–1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium l -lysinate ([Bmim][Lys]) aqueous solutions were measured by using the BZY-1 surface tension meter. The temperature ranged from 303.2 K to 323.2 K. The mass fractions of DEAE and amino acid ionic liquids (AAILs) respectively ranged from 0.30 to 0.50 and 0.025 to 0.075. A thermodynamic equation was proposed to model the surface tension and the calculated results agreed well with the experiments. The effects of temperature and mass fractions of DEAE and AAILs on the surface tension were demonstrated on the basis of experiments and calculations. The surface enthalpy and surface entropy were determined and their concentration dependences were illustrated.

In this work, the surface tensions (γ) of the aqueous blends of 1-dimethylamino-2-propanol (DMA2P) + amino acid ionic liquids (AAILs) were studied using the Wilhelmy plate method at temperatures from 303.2 to 323.2 K and atmospheric pressure. The AAILs include tetramethylammoniumglycinate ([N1111][Gly]), 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium glycinate ([Bmim][Gly]), and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium-l-lysinate ([Bmim][Lys]). The concentrations of DMA2P and AAILs were varied between 0.300 and 0.500 wt % and 0.025 and 0.075 wt %, respectively. A thermodynamic correlation approach with respect to the mass fraction and temperature was employed to correlate the surface tension of DMA2P–AAILs aqueous solutions. The surface entropy (SS) and surface enthalpy (HS) were calculated from the analytical formulation, and their variation with mass fraction and temperature was demonstrated. The effects of the types of AAILs on the surface properties were also analyzed and compared.
The surface tension (γ) of 1-dimethylamino-2-propanol (DMA2P), DMA2P-monoethanolamine (MEA), and DMA2P-piperazine (PZ) aqueous solutions was measured by using the BZY-1 surface tension meter. The temperature ranged from 303.2 K to 323.2 K. The mass fractions of DMA2P, MEA and PZ respectively ranged from 0.30 to 0.50, 0.05 to 0.15 and 0.025 to 0.075. An equation was proposed to model the surface tension and the calculated results agreed well with the experiments. The surface thermodynamics including surface enthalpy and surface entropy were determined and their concentration dependence was analysed.
Cuprous oxide (Cu2O) nanocubes were synthesized by reducing Cu(OH)2in the presence of sodium citrate at room temperature. The samples were characterized in detail by field-emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, and N2absorption (BET specific surface area). The equations for acquiring reaction kinetic parameters and surface thermodynamic properties of Cu2O nanocubes were deduced by establishment of the relations between thermodynamic functions of Cu2O nanocubes and these of the bulk Cu2O. Combined with thermochemical cycle, transition state theory, basic theory of chemical thermodynamics, andin situmicrocalorimetry, reaction kinetic parameters, specific surface enthalpy, specific surface Gibbs free energy, and specific surface entropy of Cu2O nanocubes were successfully determined. We also introduced a universal route for gaining reaction kinetic parameters and surface thermodynamic properties of nanomaterials. Keywords:nanothermodynamics;cuprous oxide;nanocrystal;specific surface enthalpy;specific surface Gibbs free energy;specific surface entropy
