Transparent surfaces with anti-pollution and anti-adhesive properties show promise for optical windows. However, there is currently no effective way to create glass surfaces that are impervious to highly viscous and sticky oils, like crude oil. In this research, an electrical-heating silica glass with resistance to high viscosity oil was prepared using a femtosecond laser process. An inner micro-channel system was fabricated by the femtosecond laser wet etching method, and the surface was treated to be superhydrophilic/underwater superoleophobic through femtosecond laser irradiation. The prepared sample could be electrically heated by its internal heating unit, which could reduce the viscosity of the crude oil. Thus, the prepared sample is resistant not only to typically low-viscosity oils, but also prevents the adhesion of crude oil, which would be widely applied in anti-pollution optical windows.
Functional superamphiphobic coatings have garnered massive concern due to their promising application in oil transportation and anti-contamination, which call for the requirements of mechanical stability and flame retardancy. Herein, a novel superamphiphobic PVT/F-APP-TiO 2 hybrid coating with excellent mechanical stability and flame retardancy was fabricated using fluorinated PVT polymer adhesive and highly fluorinated ammonium polyphosphate/TiO 2 (F-APP-TiO 2 ) particles with hierarchical core-shell structure. The synthetic mechanism, surface structure, chemical composition of the F-APP-TiO 2 particles were investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), respectively. The PVT/F-APP-TiO 2 coatings exhibited excellent superamphiphobicity, anticontamination and self-cleaning property. Good mechanical stability of PVT/F-APP-TiO 2 coatings was verified by mechical damage tests including sand paper abrasion, tape-peeling and water-impacting tests. Further, the PVT/F-APP-TiO 2 coatings showed excellent flame retardancy and self-recovery ability. The PVT/F-APP-TiO 2 coatings with versatile abilities exhibited promising potential to achieve numerous applications in water-oil proof, fireproof and oil transportation materials.
In recent years, the development of effective antibacterial surfaces and preventing ambient contamination are critically important for medical devices and public hygiene products. In this manuscript, we prepared a multifunctional nanofiber membrane ( PU–CNC–TiO 2 -CNFs-PDMS, PCTCP ) by integrating electrospinning technology and co-blending technique. It is shown that the superhydrophobic composite fiber membrane ( PCTCP ) was endowed with excellent mechanical properties , high elasticity, self-cleaning, anti-contamination, high leakage-proof ability and low cytotoxicity. Furthermore, photothermal and photodynamic behaviors made the fiber film have better bactericidal performance, which will provide additional benefit for medical applications. Hemolysis test demonstrated the ultra-low toxicity of composite fibrous membranes . Finally, the ultrahigh compatibility of fibrous membranes with L929 cells was confirmed by cell imaging using fluorescent confocal microscopy , and the co-culture of PCTCP with zebrafish further demonstrated the potential of fibrous membranes as biomedical materials .
