In the laboratory, the 3.5 wt.% NaCl aqueous solution is commonly used to simulate the seawater environment. The thermodynamic and kinetic research on the aqueous solution structure is intriguing, and it would aid in explaining the initial mechanism of the seawater-related physical and chemical phenomena. In this paper, the solution structure and evolution of the hydrogen bond network at the temperature range of the marine environment were obtained using classical molecular simulation and in-situ Raman spectroscopy. Specifically, the tetrahedral hydrogen bond structure was decomposed into two types: DDAA a affected by ions and DDAA n unaffected by ions. Furthermore, the enthalpy and entropy change of hydrogen bond evolution in the temperature range were calculated to be 14.05 ± 0.75 J·mol −1 and 53.38 ± 2.49 J·mol −1 ·K −1 . This work lays the groundwork for preliminary mechanism research of life phenomena, physical properties, and chemical reactions in the marine environment.

The α-Si 3 N 4 membrane was prepared by tape casting of silicon slurry, followed by calcination at 1300 °C in flowing NH 3 gas. It comprised of α-Si 3 N 4 nanowire of diameter 70 nm which were converted from silicon powder via the vapor–liquid–solid (VLS) growth mechanism. The surface of the obtained membrane was transformed from hydrophilic to superhydrophobic , with a high water contact angle of ~ 160°, by coating with a vesicular SiNCO nano-layer. The experimental results showed that nanowire structure also favored superhydrophobicity. Water desalination performance of the membrane was tested with a sweeping gas membrane distillation (SGMD) device. High water flux of 8.09 l m −2 h −1 was achieved for 20 wt% NaCl aqueous solution in the feed at 90 °C, which was maintained for more than 500 h.
Nitrogen-doped functional graphene nanocomposites (GO-MRF-x) for electrode materials in a capacitive deionization (CDI) application were conveniently prepared through a sol–gel polycondensation reaction catalyzed by Na 2 CO 3 under ambient pressure drying. The materials showed high surface functionalization (N and O groups) which were confirmed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The molar ratio of melamine with resorcinol had a marked effect on the specific surface area and porosity of the nanocomposites. The characterization results showed that with the specific surface area of 387 m 2 g −1 and N content of 7.26 wt%, laminated GO-MRF-0.8 material exhibited a good performance with high specific capacitance (222 F g −1 ), low charge-transfer resistance (0.10 Ω), and electrosorption capacity (16.72 mg g −1 ). Furthermore, the electrosorption isotherms were studied, and it was found that the ion electrosorption behavior of NaCl on GO-MRF-0 followed multilayer adsorption, whereas GO-MRF-0.8 exhibited a change from monolayer to multilayer.
