Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) refers to a group of non-specific hydrolases that exhibit high catalytic activity under alkaline conditions. These enzymes catalyze the hydrolysis of nearly all phosphate monoesters to produce orthophosphate and corresponding alcohols, phenols, saccharides and other substances. Bovine intestinal alkaline phosphatase exists as a homodimer and features high enzymatic activity and excellent thermal stability.

Application

It serves as a labeling enzyme for conjugates coupled with antibodies, antigens and other biomolecules, and is widely applied in high-sensitivity immunoassay reagents for colorimetric, fluorescent, chemiluminescent detection and immunohistochemistry. Conjugation via primary amines is recommended.
