Lipase (LPS), also known as triacylglycerol hydrolase, catalyzes the hydrolysis of triglycerides into fatty acids and glycerol (or diglycerides and monoglycerides). LPS is widely present in various organisms. Abnormally elevated serum LPS levels are commonly observed in pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. This assay kit provides a simple, convenient, and rapid method for detecting LPS activity. It is suitable for samples such as animal and plant tissues, cells, serum, and plasma. The detection principle is as follows: LPS catalyzes the hydrolysis of oil esters into fatty acids. The rate of fatty acid production is then determined using the copper soap method, allowing for the calculation of LPS activity.
