摘要
As the world grapples with energy shortages and environmental challenges, photocatalytic CO 2 reduction has emerged as a game-changing solution in sustainable technology. By converting carbon dioxide into high-value hydrocarbon fuels, this innovative approach not only helps combat climate change but also paves the way for a cleaner, greener energy future. Developing high-performance, low-energy-consumption, and long-term stable photocatalysts remains a critical challenge in advancing sustainable technologies. In this study, the plate-like NiO supported ZnCdS nanoparticles with high stability is prepared by solvothermal method. Compared with ZnCdS and NiO, the photocatalytic properties of the composite materials are obviously improved. As a consequence, the 12NiO/ZnCdS composite exhibited CO evolution rates of 71.13 μmol·g -1 ·h -1 , 6.8 times higher than those of pristine ZnCdS. The selectivity toward CO reached 75%. Characterization results confirmed the successful synthesis of the catalyst, where the interfacial interaction between composite components formed a built-in electric field. This mechanism afforded more active sites, enhanced light absorption properties, and promoted carrier migration rate under photoexcitation. The efficient charge separation not only suppressed photo-corrosion but also enhanced the catalyst's reductive capacity for CO 2 reduction. This study establishes a novel design paradigm for engineering highly stable ZnCdS-based photocatalysts toward solar-driven CO 2 conversion, offering compelling inspiration for material innovation. Furthermore, the fundamental principles elucidated herein provide a valuable framework to guide future exploration in related energy-transduction technologies.
