The level of uric acid is crucial to human health. Octahedral oxygen vacancy MnCo 2 O 4 /Ag (V O -MnCo 2 O 4 /Ag) nanozyme was successfully prepared by simple hydrothermal, calcination and self-reduction methods. V O -MnCo 2 O 4 /Ag nanozyme is rich in Mn 2+ /Mn 3+ and C O 2+ /C O 3+ redox electron pairs, large specific surface area and oxygen vacancies. V O -MnCo 2 O 4 /Ag nanozyme showed high uricase-like activity and peroxidase-like activity. At the same time, the SERS signal of the detected molecule could be significantly enhanced after the catalytic reaction of the V O -MnCo 2 O 4 /Ag nanozyme. The K m values of V O -MnCo 2 O 4 /Ag nanozyme for H 2 O 2 and TMB were 0.04 mM and 0.027 mM respectively. Based on the uric acid oxidase-like and peroxidase-like activities of V O -MnCo 2 O 4 /Ag, we developed a label-free, sensitive, and reliable SERS uric acid detection system. The detection linear range of uric acid is 0.01 μM–1000 μM and the detection of limit is 7.8 × 10 −9 M. The results show that the sensing system has good accuracy, sensitivity, selectivity , and stability. It can be applied to the determination of samples under different conditions. This study provides profound insights into the design of enzyme-like activity regulation and SERS properties regulation of nanozymes, provides guidance for the study of reaction kinetics and catalytic mechanism of nanozymes, and has broad application prospects in the field of nanozymes and SERS sensing analysis.

In this study, Ag2S samples are characterized using X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, and impedance spectroscopy. At 447 K, an AC conductivity jump of about two orders of magnitude is observed, and an endothermic peak is measured by differential scanning calorimetry, apparently resulting from the β-to-α phase transition, i.e., the order–disorder transition. A silver vacancy proportion of 2.2% is obtained by refinement of the X-ray diffraction profile. The dielectric loss peaks and analysis of the observed complex impedance peaks indicate four different relaxation processes, namely, P1, P2, P3, and P4, from low to high temperature. P1 and P2 are obviously the migration of silver ions from two types of lattice sites to their nonequivalent nearest-neighbor vacancies. P3 involves the migration of interstitial silver ions to adjacent interstitial sites. An Arrhenius-to-VFTH crossover of the P4 relaxation time is inferred to the hopping of the individual silver ion and then the cooperative jumps of several ions in the disordered region of the silver sublattice upon heating.

Copper-based nanoinks are emerging as promising low-cost alternatives to widely used silver nanoinks in electronic printing. However, the spontaneous oxidation of copper under ambient conditions poses significant challenges to its broader application. To address this issue, this paper presents an economical, large-scale, and environmentally friendly method for fabricating Cu@Ag nanoparticles (Cu@Ag NPs). The as-prepared nanoparticles exhibit a narrow size distribution of approximately 100 nm and can withstand ambient exposure for at least 60 days without significant oxidation. The Cu@Ag-based ink, with a 60 wt% loading, was screen-printed onto a flexible polyimide substrate and subsequently heat-treated at 290 °C for 15 minutes under a nitrogen atmosphere. The sintered pattern displayed a low electrical resistivity of 25.5 μΩ·cm (approximately 15 times the resistivity of bulk copper) along with excellent reliability and mechanical fatigue strength. The innovative Cu@Ag NPs fabrication method holds considerable potential for advancing large-scale applications of copper-based inks in flexible electronics. Keywords:core–shell nanoparticles;antioxidation;conductive ink;printing electronics

Noble metal doping is considered to be an efficient way to promote the gas sensing performances of metal oxide semiconductor nanomaterials . In this study, uniform silver (Ag)-doped tin dioxide (SnO 2 ) nanoparticles were successfully synthesized through a facile one-step hydrothermal route. The diameter of Ag/SnO 2 nanoparticles is less than 10 nm. Compared with pure SnO 2 -based sensor, the Ag/SnO 2 -based sensors are found to effectively improve their sensitivity and selectivity to ethanol. In particular, the 6% Ag/SnO 2 -based sensor displays a high response (Ra/Rg = 135) to 50 ppm ethanol at 180 °C. The enhancement of ethanol sensing properties of the 6% Ag/SnO 2 sample due to the small size of SnO 2 and catalytic sensitization effect of Ag, as well as the Schottky barrier forms between SnO 2 and Ag. These results suggest that the Ag-doped SnO 2 nanoparticles acting as a promising functional composite material have potential application for ethanol sensors.

The low polarization and low Raman cross section characteristics of glutathione (GSH) make it challenging to directly detect GSH molecules through surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) technology. Development of nanostructures for indirect detection of GSH applied to the SERS platform is of great interest. Herein, silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs)/copper-polyphenol colloidal spheres (denoted as CuTA@Ag) with adjustable Ag NPs coverage are prepared by deposition of Ag NPs on the metal-polyphenol colloidal spheres via an interfacial polyphenol reduction method. The size and density of the Ag NPs deposited on the out layer can be readily adjusted by tailoring the concentrations of silver precursor. It leads to activity difference for the nanozyme and SERS characteristics. The SERS properties of the obtained CuTA@Ag are studied using oxTMB , catalytic products of nanozyme, as the probing molecules. They provide satisfactory SERS performance with a low detection limit of 10 −7 M (S/N = 3) and linear determination in the 1–100 μM range for GSH. Moreover, it is further able to detect the glutathione content in cancer cells with well accurate and reproducible capability, catching the signs of rising cancer marker levels. This work proposes structurally tunable nanomaterials platform for a catalytic-based SERS assay, which is expected to utilize the high sensitivity of SERS tool for GSH detection in the cellular environment.

The quinolone antibiotics represented by enrofloxacin (ENRO) are harmful to the ecological environment and human health due to illegal excessive use, resulting in increasing food residues and ENRO levels in the environment. To this end, we developed a MIPs–SERS method using surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) and molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) to detect ENRO in food matrices. Firstly, a layer of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) with the best SERS effect was synthesized on the surface of copper rods as the enhancing material by in situ reductions, and then MIPs targeting ENRO were prepared by the native polymerization reaction, and the MIPs containing template molecules wrapped on the surface of silver nanoparticle films (Ag NPs–MIPs) were obtained. Our results showed that the Ag NPs–MIPs could specifically identify ENRO from the complex environment. The minimum detection limit for ENRO was 0.25 ng/mL, and the characteristic peak intensity of ENRO was linearly correlated to the concentration with a linear range of 0.001~0.1 μg/mL. The experimental results showed that in comparison to other detection methods, the rapid detection of ENRO in food matrices using Ag NPs–MIPs as the substrate is reliable and offers a cost-effective, time-saving, highly selective, and sensitive method for detecting ENRO residues in real food samples.Keywords:surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy;molecularly imprinted polymers;biosensor;enrofloxacin

The antibacterial effect induced by photocatalysis of UV-irradiated TiO 2 has been widely studied. The present work reveals that Ag + implanted TiO 2 film shows significantly enhanced antibacterial activity without the application of UV light. Density functional calculations show that the existence of the implanted Ag + tends to change the electric field leading to a gradient band alignment of TiO 2 near the interface, favoring the charge transfer from the TiO 2 side to the membrane of the bacteria. Our density functional calculations clearly demonstrate the strong evidence of charge transfer channeling from the conduction band of Ag + implanted TiO 2 to the bacteria membrane which produces large amount of reactive oxygen species (ROS, including O 2 •– , H 2 O 2 and •OH). The ROS lead to bacteria death by inducing physiological changes such as membrane break, leakage of intracellular components, protein denaturation and DNA lesions. This work unravels the antibacterial mechanism of Ag + implanted TiO 2 , and contributes furtherly to the rational design and modification of biomaterials by Ag + implantation.

Membrane technologies offer great potential in desalination and wastewater treatment . However, the serious issue of membrane fouling results in the unsatisfactory sustainability and reusability for treating wastewater containing high level of organic foulants. In this work, a photocatalytic membrane reactor system combining Ag@BiOBr photocatalyst and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) ultrafiltration with remarkable anti-fouling property was constructed. The integrated Ag@BiOBr/PVDF photocatalytic ultrafiltration membranes were prepared by blending Ag@BiOBr nanoparticles (NPs) into PVDF membrane via phase inversion method. The membrane separation performance and fouling resistance were studied in a cross-flow ultrafiltration system using bovine serum albumin (BSA) as the model foulants. Compared with the pristine PVDF membrane, the hydrophilicity and surface smoothness of composite membranes were promoted by photocatalyst-incorporation, the Ag@BiOBr/PVDF membrane with the optimal Ag@BiOBr blending content of 2.0 wt% achieved both enhanced water flux and higher BSA rejection efficiency. More importantly, the mechanism of anti-fouling and self-cleaning performances were further studied, the photocatalysis process based on Ag@BiOBr/PVDF membrane effectively decomposed the BSA foulant into broken protein with induced change of carbonyl, ionic bond and hydrogen bond contents in BSA foulants via the active radicals, weakened the intermolecular force of BSA foulants to prevent membrane pore blockage. Meanwhile, the broken protein peptide chains with more negative charges could result in the strength of electrostatic repulsive forces between BSA molecules and membrane. As a result, the BSA foulant could be stably removed in the Ag@BiOBr/PVDF photocatalytic ultrafiltration system under visible light irradiation, achieving the excellent anti-fouling performance by preventing the membrane pore blockage and foulant adhesion. We believe the Ag@BiOBr/PVDF photocatalytic membrane presented in this study will be one example among many photocatalyst-membrane combinations that can be further pursued for organic pollutants removal. In particular, we expect the theoretical support can present a great opportunity to design novel photocatalytic membranes with sustainable anti-fouling performance.

Depositing anisotropic noble metal nanoparticles with high uniformity and yield on flexible substrates is the determining factor for surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) detection. In this work, flexible, durable and sensitive SERS substrates were fabricated by in situ reduction of Ag nanoparticles on polydopamine templated cotton fabrics (CF) as catalytic hotspots to enhance the following deposition of Au nanoparticles. The coated CF were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction to understand the surface morphology, chemical composition and crystalline structure, respectively. The SEM images indicate that the nanoparticles are dispersed evenly on the CF. 4-Mercaptobenzoic acid (4-MBA) has been used as the probe molecule to evaluate the sensitive and reproducible SERS properties of the as-fabricated SERS substrate. The as-prepared SERS substrates were demonstrated to detect carbaryl pesticides on a cucumber, and carbaryl with the concentration of as low as 10 −6 M (0.20 ppm) could be detected to ensure food safety.

In this work, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) technology coupled with Ag nanowires was shown to be a promising tool in the detection of tartrazine in large yellow croaker for the first time. Ag nanowires with a uniform diameter were fabricated by an efficient and manageable polyol method. The partial least square model was established for the quantitative analysis of tartrazine, which showed a relatively high linear correlation between actual and predicted concentrations of standard tartrazine solutions. An optimal sample preparation method was also selected and used to extract tartrazine from large yellow croaker within 20 min. The lowest concentration detected was 20.38 ng/cm2, which fully meets the requirements of tartrazine testing in aquatic products. This study indicated that SERS technology combined with the as-prepared Ag nanowires could detect tartrazine sensitively and provide an easily operable and time-saving way to monitor tartrazine in large yellow croaker. Keywords:SERS;Ag nanowires;tartrazine;large yellow croaker

Ag nanoparticles decorated Polyaniline (PANI)/graphitic carbon nitride (g-C 3 N 4 ) composite was fabricated as active electrode materials for supercapacitors via an in-situ oxidative polymerization. Morphology and structure of Ag/PANI/g-C 3 N 4 composite were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The supercapacitive behavior of the electrode material was tested in a three electrode system using 1.0 M H 2 SO 4 electrolyte. The results indicated that the Ag/PANI/g-C 3 N 4 composite delivered a high specific capacitance of 797.8 F g −1 and an excellent capacitance retention of 84.43% after 1000 cycles at an applied current density of 1 A g −1 . Ragone plot was derived and compared which showed enhanced supercapacitive performance of Ag/PANI/g-C3N4. The composite should be ideal potential electrode materials for high-performance and effective supercapacitors.

To improve the visible-light catalytic performance of TiO 2 for practical application, Ag/AgBr modified TiO 2 was fabricated in ionic liquid–water medium via a facile hydrothermal reduction method. Imidacloprid (IMI) was employed as the target pollutant to evaluate the critical impacts on the catalytic activity of as-prepared Ag/AgBr/TiO 2 , where the factors relating to the catalyst (composition, dosage, recycle and reuse) and solution chemistry (pH and concentration, simulated wastewater samples and floodwater of rice paddy field) were studied. The results suggested that benefitting from visible-light sensitive Ag/AgBr and high specific surface area TiO 2 , Ag/AgBr/TiO 2 exhibits superior visible-light photocatalytic activity and stability to Ag/AgBr and TiO 2 . The quenching tests with various scavengers indicate that · O 2 − and h + , and · O 2 − and · OH may be the key roles in IMI photo-degradation on Ag/AgBr and on Ag/AgBr/TiO 2 , respectively. Thus, the photocatalytic performance of Ag/AgBr/TiO 2 differs from that of Ag/AgBr. Furthermore, the contribution of such active species is clarified for quantitative mechanisms study. The photo-degradation conducted in the simulated wastewater and the floodwater of rice paddy field proves favorable anti-interference capacity of Ag/AgBr/TiO 2 . The tests conducted on real wastewater sample verified that Ag/AgBr/TiO 2 can mineralize IMI promptly and almost completely.
