CdSe-reduced graphene oxide (CdSe/RGO) composites were synthesized by a hydrothermal method. CdSe/RGO composites with different mass ratios were prepared. The structure and morphology of CdSe/RGO composites were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The synthesis of CdSe/RGO complexes was successfully demonstrated by Fourier infrared (FT-IR) and Raman spectra. CdSe nanoparticles in the CdSe/RGO composite were uniformly dispersed on the graphene surface. The study found that oxygen-containing functional groups such as hydroxyl (-OH) and carboxyl (-COOH) groups in graphene played a decisive role in the dispersion of CdSe. The third-order nonlinear optical properties of CdSe/RGO composites were measured by a single beam Z-scan technique. The experimental results showed that composites exhibited two-photon absorption and self-focusing nonlinear refraction properties. Additionally, the third-order nonlinear susceptibility of the composite material was obviously enhanced, which was mainly due to the good dispersion of CdSe nanoparticles on graphene.Keywords:CdSe/RGO nanocomposites;carboxyl groups;third-order nonlinear optical property;Z-scan technique;good dispersion

The composite electrode materials (rGO/MXene@NiCoO 2 ) have been prepared by tightly wrapping of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and MXene to NiCoO 2 nanosheets . The specific capacitance of rGO/MXene@NiCoO 2 -5wt% is 1614 F·g −1 at 0.5 A g −1 , maintains at 1257.5 F·g −1 when increasing the current density to 10 A·g −1 . And the capacitance retention is 77.29% even after 10,000 cycles. It is attributed to the special interlayer network structure of the rGO/MXene@NiCoO 2 composite, which promotes more ion intercalation/deintercalation and improves the structure stability. An asymmetric supercapacitor (ASC) is assembled using rGO/MXene@NiCoO 2 as the positive electrode and rGO/MXene as the negative electrode, respectively. The maximum energy density is 45.15 Wh·kg −1 and the power density is 394.52 W·kg −1 . After 10,000 cycles with current density at 5 A·g −1 , the capacity retention rate is 82.69%. These results demonstrate the potential application of rGO/MXene@NiCoO 2 composite networks as electrode materials for supercapacitors.

The polarization effect has been unequivocally demonstrated to markedly enhance the microwave absorption performance. However, the pursuit of achieving broadband absorption through meticulously designed polarization behavior continues to pose a formidable challenge. In this work, we present a unique multi-polarization strategy in the La(OH) 3 /N-doped rGO composites, incorporating dipole polarization induced by nitrogen doping and intrinsic defects, homogeneous interfacial polarization contributed by locally crystalized nano-domains in La(OH) 3 , and heterogeneous interfacial polarization at the heterojunctions between La(OH) 3 and N-doped rGO, to significantly enhance the multi-band polarization loss. Experimental and theoretical investigations reveal that the La(OH) 3 /N-doped rGO hybrid featuring distinctive crystalline/amorphous nano-domains exhibits remarkable coupling effects, encompassing an enhanced electron transport rate and strengthened interfacial electron interactions. The improved electron transport is attributed to increased electron transitions at heterojunctions with matched Fermi levels and enhanced charge conduction from the crystalline regions within La(OH) 3 . Furthermore, strong polarization relaxation at these heterojunction interfaces, along with weaker but significant polarization at numerous homogeneous interfaces, contributes to the enhanced interactions. Consequently, an exceptional minimal reflection loss of -69.6 dB has been achieved, accompanied by an impressive effective absorption bandwidth of 7.7 GHz, which surpasses that of the current state-of-the-art microwave absorbers. This work unveils an innovative design paradigm aimed at the meticulous regulation of polarization loss, thereby laying a robust foundation for the advancement of high-performance absorbers.

Jahn-Teller distortion (JTD) remains a fundamental bottleneck for transition metal oxides (TMOs) in electrochemical energy storage, where the e g -orbital single-electron occupancy induces irreversible octahedral collapse and rapid capacity fading. Here, we pioneer an itinerant-electron-mediated dynamic suppression strategy that fundamentally reshapes the JTD evolution pathway through π - d orbital hybridization engineering. By constructing reduced graphene oxide/TMO heterointerfaces (rGO/MO x , M = Fe/Ni/Mn), localized 3 d electrons are transformed into delocalized itinerant states, which (1) eliminate e g -band degeneracy via orbital repopulation and (2) establish an electron density buffer layer to neutralize lattice strain. This electronic regulation enables ultrafast Na + diffusion kinetics (508.3 F g −1 at 1 A g −1 → 304.6 F g −1 at 20 A g −1 ) and near-zero lattice deformation (91.07% capacitance retention after 20,000 cycles). Synchrotron-based X-ray absorption spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations reveal that itinerant electron dynamics actively decouple the Mn 3+ d 4 electronic configuration from JTD triggering, leading to a dramatic suppression of octahedral distortion compared to the conventional MnO 2 . The proposed electron delocalization-to-lattice stabilization paradigm opens a universal route to design distortion-resistant electrodes for high-power energy storage systems.

Graphical Harsh reality : A facile solution route to monodisperse MnO@3MnFe 2 O 4 @rGO is established. As anode materials of Li-ion batteries, MnO@3MnFe 2 O 4 @rGO delivers remarkable cycling performances. Therefore, MnO@3MnFe 2 O 4 @rGO nanocomposites can be considered promising battery materials that can be operated in harsh environments. A facile high-temperature solution route to a monodisperse core-shell structure of MnO (core) and MnFe 2 O 4 (shell) (abbreviated as MFO) nanoparticles anchored on reduced graphene oxide (rGO) has been established. Subsequently, MnO@MnFe 2 O 4 @rGO nanocomposites are utilized as advanced anode materials for high-performance Li-ion batteries. MnO@3MFO@rGO containing 22.5 wt% of the rGO composite (with a 1 : 3 molar ratio of MnO/MFO) as the electrodes delivered a remarkable cycling performance, that is, 587.8 mAh g −1 at a current density of 200 mA g −1 after 200 cycles at ambient temperature with an ultralow capacity fading (0.10 % per cycle). More importantly, the electrodes afforded excellent capacity stability under various operation temperatures (ca. −20 to 70 °C), such as an excellent reversible capacity of 1067 mA h g −1 at a current density of 500 mA g −1 after 300 cycles at 60 °C, and remarkable low-temperature performance of a reversible capacity of 208.7 mA h g −1 at a current density of 200 mA g −1 at −20 °C. Therefore, MnO@3MFO@rGO nanocomposites are considered as promising battery materials that can be operated in harsh environments.

The mechanism of GO/rGO interaction with trypsin is investigated using multiple methods. UV-Vis reveals that trypsin has a maximum absorption at 278 nm, the absorption intensity increased demonstrating GO/rGO alters the solvent environment of trypsin and exposes the aromatic chromogenic groups. ITC experiments with GO and trypsin provide a negative ΔH of -25.98 KJ mol −1 and the association constant Ka of 4.829 × 10 −4 . The negative ΔS of -23.64 J mol −1 ∙K −1 is further given by the Gibbs–Helmholtz equation. Combining with the ζ potential result, the driving forces for binding include hydrogen bonding, electrostatic interaction forces and van der Waals forces. Fluorescence spectroscopy shows that GO/rGO can significantly quench the fluorescence intensities of trypsin. The equilibrium constant Kd of GO/ rGO-24h / rGO-48h is 4.41±0.07, 5.82±0.53, 7.24±0.25, respectively, which means the reduced content of oxygen-containing groups can weaken the binding forces between GO/rGO and trypsin. CD show that even low concentrations of GO/rGO affect the secondary structure of trypsin, mainly decreasing the α -helix and β -fold content while increasing the β -turn and random coil content of trypsin. Overall, GO/rGO can effectively interact with trypsin, the oxidation degree of GO/rGO can affects the combination of trypsin and further influence on protein conformation and function.

The hydrophobic nanocomposites of reduced graphene oxide (RGO) and Fe3O4(RGO/Fe3O4) were prepared by a one-pot process through co-precipitation under alkaline conditions. The microwave absorption performance of the RGO/Fe3O4nanocomposites was analyzed according to their electromagnetic parameters. The results showed that the RGO/Fe3O4nanocomposites displayed better absorbing performance than the pristine Fe3O4nanoparticles, owing to the synergistic effect of Fe3O4and RGO. The maximum reflection loss (RL) of the RGO/Fe3O4nanocomposites with a thickness of 2 mm reached −45.7 dB at 13.3 GHz, and the bandwidth (RL < −10 dB) ranged from 11.5 to 16.5 GHz. However, the maximum RL of the Fe3O4nanoparticles with a thickness of 5 mm only reached −5.3 dB at 5.7 GHz. The RGO/Fe3O4nanocomposites have a great potential application in high-performance electromagnetic microwave absorbing. Keywords:reduced graphene oxide;ferroferric oxide;co-precipitation;hydrophobicity;electromagnetic properties

The rational design of specific nanostructures with desirable combination of electrical conductivity and magnetism is of significant importance in the field of electromagnetic absorption. To date, it is still difficult to uniformly coat magnetic composition on reduced graphene oxide (RGO) surface, especially through a metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) pyrolyzation strategy, just because of difficulty in even deposition of MOFs on graphene oxide (GO). Herein, we successfully deposit MOFs on GO to form sandwich MOFs/GO/MOFs through the addition of Fe3+ to MOFs precursor. Then, we adopt a temperature-controlled pyrolysis strategy to transform MOFs/GO/MOFs into sandwich CoFe2O4/RGO/CoFe2O4. The nanomaterial exhibits remarkable electromagnetic absorption (EMA) performance, where its maximum effective width reaches 7.08 GHz under 2.6 mm. It is thought that the synergy of electric loss, magnetic loss, and impedance match is ascribed to high-perforamnce EMA of this sandwich nanostructure.

Catechol, a prevalent phenolic pollutant in food products, poses a significant threat to food safety, necessitating the development of rapid and sensitive detection methods. To overcome the limitations of conventional analytical techniques, such as expensive equipment and operational complexity, electrochemical sensors have gained considerable attention owing to their rapid response and facile miniaturization. However, the rational design of sensing materials that exhibit both high sensitivity and selectivity remains a significant challenge. Herein, a series of PdCu bimetallic nanoparticles supported on reduced graphene oxide (PdCu@rGO) composites with varying Pd/Cu molar ratios was synthesized via a one-step liquid-phase reduction method. Owing to the synergistic electronic effects between Pd and Cu and the high electrical conductivity of the rGO support, the resulting nanocomposites exhibited excellent electrocatalytic activity toward catechol oxidation. At the optimal Pd/Cu molar ratio of 1:2, the fabricated Pd1Cu2@rGO/SPE sensor demonstrated a broad linear range of 0.5–500 μM, a low limit of detection of 200 nM (S/N = 3), good repeatability (RSD = 4.9%), and robust anti-interference capability. Furthermore, the proposed sensor was successfully applied to the detection of catechol in spiked green tea and fruit juice samples without complex pretreatment, achieving satisfactory recoveries of 91.0–101.4% and 98.6–104.8%, respectively. This work provides a reliable platform for the rapid, on-site screening of catechol in food matrices and offers valuable experimental insights into the rational design of bimetallic alloy–graphene heterostructures.

A series of reduced graphene oxide–mesoporous silica nanoflakes (rGO–MSN) with adjustable surface wettability were developed. Detailed SEM, TEM, XRD, BET, and TGA analyses demonstrated that morphologies, structures, porosities of the obtained composite materials were greatly influenced by rGO content. Moreover, micrographs and conductivity measurements were conducted to investigate the performance of rGO–MSN as emulsifier in stabilizing paraffin/water two-phase system. Furthermore, anchored with –SO3H, the modified hybrid nanoflakes SO3H–rGO–MSN-x% were employed as solid emulsifier and catalyst (Pickering interfacial catalyst) at solvent free oil–oil interface for acetal reaction and showed excellent dodecyl aldehyde conversion more than 90%.

In this study, reduced grapheme oxide (RGO)/BiVO4 composite was prepared and characterized by FT-IR, XRD, and UV spectrum. Photo-chemically-mediated atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of methyl methacrylate (MMA) was successfully performed at 25°C in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) with RGO/BiVO4 as photoinitiator, FeCl3·6H2O/triphenylphosphine (PPh3) as catalyst, and ethyl 2-bromoisobutyrate as ATRP initiator. MMAs were polymerized in a controlled manner under ultraviolet (UV) light and sunlight conditions. The results show that a first-order kinetics model was obeyed up to higher conversion. The reaction gave well-controlled PMMA with Mn,GPC close to the theoretical value and a narrow MWD (Mw/Mn<1.5). The experiments of light on and off reveal the photoredox cycle between Fe(III) and Fe(II) species. The living character was further verified by the chain extension experiments.

Piezoresistive wearable electronic devices have great potential in fields such as health detection and human-computer interaction, but traditional devices often fail to recognize pressure changes while maintaining high sensitivity to temperature. In this study, we propose a temperature-recognized piezoresistive pressure sensor based on rGO/MWCNTs@PAN composite film, the strain layer of this sensor is synthesized through electrospinning, the substrate was a high-carbon low-polymer mixture of dimethylformamide (DMF), polyacrylonitrile (PAN), and doped with an excess of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs, 0.6 g), in a high MWCNTs environment, the material as a whole is strengthened, with a more resilient structure. Meanwhile, its unique tubular structure provides a conductive path for the reaction and offers support. Embedding PVA on the substrate surface enhances overall stability and is coated with rGO, under this high-carbon condition, the electrical conductivity is enhanced, making it sensitive to pressure while responding more precisely to temperature changes. Moreover, with the combination of rGO and MWCNTs, the original flexibility can be maintained. The sensitivities of the devices prepared by this method within the ranges of 0–18 kPa, 18–85 kPa and 85–140 kPa are 174.3 kPa − 1 , 32.2 kPa − 1 and 23.5 kPa − 1 respectively, it maintains a high sensitivity to pressure. In addition, the sensor also demonstrated a low detection limit (0.5 Pa), a fast response (200 ms), and maintained a 91% cycle retention rate after 5,000 cycles, and it can accurately identify the temperature within the range of 40 to 70℃. Based on these characteristics, this piezoresistive pressure sensor with temperature recognition can detect in real time a richer range of human health movement indicators, such as finger bending, elbow movement and knee bending, etc. This study indicates that this pressure-temperature sensor has broad application prospects in health monitoring.
