Chylomicrons are the large triglyceride-rich lipoproteins of enteric origin that carry exogenous triglycerides into the plasma. Circulation of chylomicrons distributes dietary triglyceride to adipose tissue and to muscle. Found in post prandial plasma, chylomicrons generally clear the blood stream in a few hours.

Composition: 98% lipid, 2% protein.
Purity: Essentially free of other plasma lipoproteins as determined by electrophoresis using a SPIFE Vis Cholesterol gel kit for lipids and Coomassie Blue for proteins. ≥95% of total lipoprotein content by electrophoresis.
Important: Product has no preservative and ideally will be opened and used under a laminar flow hood using sterile equipment. If these precautions are taken, the product should be viable through its expiration date. Otherwise, the product will be stable for ≤ 7 days once opened. Expiration also refers to shelf life of unopened vials.
Prepared from fresh, non-frozen plasma shown to be non reactive for HBsAg, anti-HCV, anti-HBc, and negative for anti-HIV 1 & 2 by FDA-required tests.
