The Human Prothrombin was cleaved using Factor Xa, Factor Va, and phospholipid. The Fragment I was subsequently purified using ion exchange chromatography. Purity of Fragment I is judged to be >95% by SDS-PAGE.
The above protein was purified from Human plasma units that test negative for antibodies to HBc, HCV, HIV 1/2, HTLV-I/II, and non reactive for HBsAg, HIV-1 RNA, HCV RNA, HBV DNA and Syphilis by FDA approved tests. Donors are screened for CJD.
