生化机理
Component of the signal recognition particle (SRP) complex, a ribonucleoprotein complex that mediates the cotranslational targeting of secretory and membrane proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) (PubMed:11089964). SRP9 together with SRP14 and the Alu portion of the SRP RNA, constitutes the elongation arrest domain of SRP (PubMed:11089964). The complex of SRP9 and SRP14 is required for SRP RNA binding (PubMed:11089964).
Recombinant Human SRP14 Protein (rp192245) - SDS-PAGE 3 μg/lane of Recombinant Human SRP14 Protein was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (R) and non-reducing (N) conditions and visualized by Coomassie® Blue staining, showing a band at 18.6 kDa under reducing conditions and 19.0 & 36.9 kDa under non-reducing conditions. The two crystal structures of the heterodimer SRP9/14 either bind to the 5' domain or to the construct containing the 5' and 3' domains. SRP9/14 is closely integrated with the conservative core of the 5' domain, which forms a U-shaped turn connecting two spiral stacks. The reversible docking combined with the weaker 3' domain may be functionally important in the translation regulation mechanism (PubMed:11089964).
