Vanadium Carbide has drawn research interest both as a potential component in anode materials for lithium ion batteries, and in supercapacitors, as well as serving as a coating material and an additive in ceramic composites. In addition, nitrogen doped vanadium carbide has been studied as a potential counter electrode catalyst in dye sensitized solar cells.
