概述
Ostreogrycin A, also known as Virginiamycin M1, is a streptogramin macrolide antibiotic. Ostreogrycin A interacts with the bacterial 50S ribosome, inhibiting its function in a reversible manner. Activity of Ostreogrycin A at the ribosome blocks translation and produces a bacteriostatic effect. With addition of Virginiamycin S1 , the two antibiotics produce a synergistic bacteriocidal effect. 生化机理
维吉尼霉素 M1 可在氨基酰-tRNA 结合和肽键形成水平上抑制细菌蛋白质合成。它能使 50S 核糖体失活。弗吉尼亚酵母菌通过还原 VM1 的 16-羰基，形成 16R- 二氢 VM1 来使其失活。VM1 还原酶只参与体内 VM1 的灭活过程
