概述

转铁蛋白是一种存在于血浆中的单体糖蛋白，平均浓度为250 mg/100 ml，是血浆中特异性的铁结合蛋白，参与铁在机体各器官间的运输和分配，参与铁的代谢，并通过肾脏防止铁的流失。作为tf结合铁储存在骨髓中，它还具有抑菌和抑菌活性。
作为一种在特定培养基中使用的重要运输因子，所有类型的细胞都需要转铁蛋白才能最大限度地生长。

Transferrin is a monomeric glycoprotein found in plasma at an average concentration of 250 mg/100 ml. The specific iron-binding protein in plasma, it has a role in the transportation and distribution of iron among the body organs, in iron metabolism and prevention of iron loss via the kidneys. Stored in bone marrow as Tf-bound iron, it also possesses bacteriostatic and fungistatic activity.

An important transport factor used in defined culture media, transferrin is required by all types of cells for maximal growth.

Aladdin purifies transferrin from plasma that has been tested by FDA-required methods and found negative at the donor level for HIV 1&2 antibodies, Hepatitis B surface antigen, Hepatitis C antibodies, HAV (NAT), HBV (NAT), HCV (NAT), HIV (NAT), parvovirus B19 (NAT), and Syphilis.

Purity: ≥98% by SDS PAGE

Iron Content: ≥1200 μg/g

Heat-treated at 60°C for 10 hours.

Lyophilized from sterile de-ionized water after filtration using a 0.1 micron filter.

Readily soluble at 1% in water.

Endotoxin level: <1 EU/mg by LAL testing

Bioburden: <10 CFU/mg; Mycoplasma: None Detected

生化机理

Transferrins are iron binding transport proteins which can bind two Fe3+ ions in association with the binding of an anion, usually bicarbonate. It is responsible for the transport of iron from sites of absorption and heme degradation to those of storage and utilization. Serum transferrin may also have a further role in stimulating cell proliferation. (Microbial infection) Serves as an iron source for Neisseria species, which capture the protein and extract its iron for their own use. (Microbial infection) Serves as an iron source for parasite T.brucei (strain 427), which capture TF via its own transferrin receptor ESAG6:ESAG7 and extract its iron for its own use.
